Racor 90S1230c (prefilter) Screen

I removed the preflter screen (300200) of the Racor 90S1230c filtration system on my ISM500 and found lots of gunk.  Monaco owner manual says to  clean in solvent but doesn't say what kind of solvent to use.  I don't know how long this has accumulated.  First time I had the filter element changed the mech. left this alone.   That was 2k miles ago and it didn't look that bad from the angle where I could see into it.

Has anyone  with this Racor-300200-pre-screen had this much gunk in it?  Monaco owner manual says to  clean in solvent but doesn't say what kind of solvent to use.

I just replace them.  I suppose you could gas or kerosene to clean it, but that seems like a pain.  Part number is Parker 300200.

Gas / Kerosene / parts cleaner / dawn

That's really not a lot of junk...think about how many gallons of fuel amounted to that amount of gunk.

Thanks.  I found a few sources for that  Parker 300200 part.  It's on my next filter order list.  I;ll clean the old one as best as possible and hold on to it as a spare until then.
