  1. When I replaced my stock radio, I replaced it w a Kenwood double DIN radio.  I opted to not get GPS in the radio and instead bought a Garmin RV GPS.  It is a suction mount, but since we do not always need it, it allows me to use it when I need to.

  2. Agreed, the water has to go somewhere.  I believe this is part of the reason for my leak.  I had a hole a little bigger develop in this roof in an area that water pooled.  You could consider angling your MH for water to runoff better?  My wiper seal did not touch the roof allowing more water in. A longer wiper seal has made it tight.  I havent been in rain since the change, but am optimistic this is going to work better.

  3. Richard,

I replaced my bedroom slide seals.  Mine were a double bulb wiper blade type and original to the coach.  My issue was the top wiper did not reach the top of the slide. I ended up ordering the top from AP products and the sides from Steele Rubber.  Both places will mail you free samples. Just call them, they were super nice.

  4. Its possible that if the batteries are not the issue, then the issue could be in the starter.  I have an old Jeep that I used to blame the battery on a slow start, but after the starter was replaced, all I can say is Wow, fires right up.  Same battery is still in the Jeep.

  5. My understanding is that at best, most of the older motorhomes should expect the cool to about 20 degrees below outside ambient temp, so if 100deg, inside of coach would be about 80.  We experienced this last summer.  So, the obvious things should help: shady spot, blinds closed, sun deflectors, etc...  I have looked into the ceramic coating for my windshield,  but havent done it yet.  My 06 Dip has 2 15k rooftop heat pump units for comparison.

  6. That's interesting, Bob.  Maybe we can meet someday and I can see this setup.  I do remember that the CB tripped one AM when tailgating. We had been plugged into 50A all night and that AM, we were using the Keurig and my wife was drying her hair.  It's possible there was a small crock pot going, but I'm not sure.  Since then, we just turn off the Keurig before she turns on her hair dryer.  BTW,  she does have a fancy hairdryer so I imagine it is pulling some amps.

  7. The only time mine has tripped was one winter when we came in to a cold coach and I plugged in space heaters and had the heat pumps going.  I just assumed too much amperage due to the heaters.  Now that I think about it, we have to be careful if the coffee pot is on when my wife turns on her hair dryer.  I think that trips it too.

Follow-up #1.  Got the quick disconnect, etc. to tie in to the coach’s prep fitting, quick connect propane hose (24’), and an adapter for my Coleman grill that eliminates the regulator. I like this because I can still use the grill with the original regulator with 1lb bottles (or 20# tank and hose).

I also got a wye and a second hose so I can run the grill and fire pit at the same time.  I’ll post pics and a parts list when it’s all done.

Easy to install C 2 Swivel Adapter.

Scotty, where did you get all of these supplies?  I've been considering setting mine up the same.

  9. Skip,

Do you have the access panel on your dash above your steering wheel?  If so, lift it up and you  can see the backs of the gauges. You may not need to remove the gauges to change the bulbs.  Look for the light. Mine are black and u twist 90 deg and pull out. If you have to remove the gauge, there are usually 2 brackets that hold them in.  Pull off the 2 nuts, then brackets, then pull gauges out from the front.  Good luck.

  10. Have the lights stopped or the gauges themselves?  If it's just the lights, you likely can replace the bulb in them w a new one.  Can you post a pic and let us know?  If it's the gauge, it may be a bad ground or sending wire.  This pic has part of the back of my boost gauge.  There is a black knob (cant see in pic) that you twist and pull out the bulb.

I bought a pair of 12 ton jack stands. The most weight I have on any corner is 9,600 lbs, so the 12,000 lb per jack rating seems sufficient. I place them under the frame rails.

Scotty, they weren't the ones from Harbor Freight? that were recalled I hope?

  12. Jerry,

We bought our 2006 Diplomat and the PO had already installed a satellite system.  That coax cable goes thru the front cap above the satellite box.  I do not have a pic, but I have one of the inside (old pic, don't judge 😉) and circled where the cable is located.   However, there is another satellite input in the back bay on the drivers side where the cable hookup is.  I think this is the factory one and I feel that one runs to the selector box up front, but have not used it.

Do you happen to have the part numbers and vendor for them? I need to do the same thing to mine. Thanks!

These were what mine needed.   I'm not sure if you would use the same.  I ordered from Zoro.com.  Amazon was gonna take like 2 months.

To all:  In my earlier post I made light of the current situation relative to Covid19. This was insensitive on my part and I would like to personally apologize to anyone who was offended by my flippant comment.  It was uncalled for and unnecessary. I am truly sorry....Dennis

Dennis,  I read and reread the posts and didn't feel like you made light of the current situation,  but brought up a good point with courts.  Who knows where this is going to go?

  15. Davey,

The first thing I had to do when I bought my MH was put new tires all around.  When they asked about balancing, I was given the option of the bead bags or weights.  I went w the bags and have been happy since.  At that point in was not using TPMS, but I installed TST valve stem sensors about 8 months later and have had no issues.
