  1. Vito, Thanks for the reply, that is just what I was looking for!! Ray. Thanks for standing up for me, you are quite right! Ken Parsons
  2. I have a Onan 7500w Quiet Diesel Generator in my 02 Diplomat pbdd. The coach has 133k and genset has 3800hrs. On my current trip twice the genset breaker has tripped. The second time I was watching the numbers on the EMS panel hover close to 38amps. I was making coffee, using microwave and charging batteries. A normal load in the past. I was NOT the winner of the 650million Powerball so not really interested in going to Cummins Coach Care. We will be at our Arizona City home in 7-8 days and the coach will be parked for 3-4 months before heading to Quartszite. My genset is not on sliding tray and must be removed to work to be done. Does anybody know a genset mechanic that doesn't have solid gold tools like Coach Care? The engine is still humming even when the breaker is tripped. Not being knowledgeable on gensets my guess something is wearing out. Any thoughts? Ken Parsons 72707 541 963 8990
  3. Thanks to all. I thought I sent a solution but don't see it, so here it is. I am over-the-hill. Even though I know to check the last project done first. My my case was installing four AGM batteries. After multi checks I found I didn't connect two wires. Once connected everything worked. I did find that there is a smaller wire which must be decanted to slides. Thanks for all the ideas and help. Ken
  4. Sorry guys with fancy coaches, in 02 Dips didn't have electric locking bays. Tried moving EGN switch no change. sjamiejones - what year is your coach. What does the relay switch look like, I tested every relay aka switch in battery bay and all were positive on both ends. Appreciate the quick replies. Ken
  5. My coach is a 2002 Monaco Diplomat pbdd. I have owned it since new, Now has 130k. I replaced the four house batteries a month ago. Today I moved the coach into my lot for wash/wax from being parked next to my home. Only oved 30ft so left slides out. Last pm in prep for w/w I went to move slides in. No movement on switches either way, no sound of motor trying to work. Checked compartment under driver seat = could not find any blown fuses. Checked bdrm panel = no blown fuses. Borrowed friends air switch to parking brake which I know will prevent starting = no change.. There doesn't seem to be power to switches. Wiring diagram shows "slide out IGN Relay (fuse OK) but don't know where the relay is located? ANY ideas, leaving in two days for Oregon. Ken Parsons 541 963 8990
  6. RV Service reviews.com is a RVer run source to find help in strange town. If more folks would use it the better. RV Park Reviews is another RVer run source for see what that park you are headed for is really like. Ken Parsons 02 Monaco Dip
  7. About a year ago I bought a Tire Traker for $500. MH was in storage so didn't set up until ready to head north. I departed after installing batteries on wheels for MH and toed. I was continuously getting "No S" (no signal) on several wheels. I called the company and was told that if batteries were below 3.0v that may happen. New batteries are 3.3v. I have the rear amp mounted in bedroom closet and connected. Second trip I replaced all batteries and got No S on only one or two wheels. Now on third trip with again all new batteries and continue to get NO S mostly on right side dual inside wheel or on pickup left rear. I again replaced those batteries noting that current batteries were at 3.1v after a week of use. I am using the "reconnect" procedure on the monitor which does reconnect the offending tire for a few minutes before the alarm goes off again. Having to check the monitor all the time is dangerous as it takes my eyes off the road. Does anyone have the Tire Traker and having the same problems. Ken Parsons 72707 02 Dip
  8. I hope that you post the shop information on "RV Service Reviews.com" so others will know who NOT to use. Ken Parsons 02 Dip 72707
  9. Another place that I used is "rvawnings1.com" phone 813 956 6827. Ken Parsons 02 Dip 72707
  10. Vanwill52. Very good information. If you could add that positive comments to "RV Service Reviews" then everyone will know who to call for excellent help. Ken Parsons 02 Dip 72707
  11. I have a 02 Diplomat pbdd. I had the head knocker center mounted 27" TV from factory. I removed the center TV cabinet and cut 12" off so it is even with the two side cabinets. Where I differ from those commenting I like to be able to read the scores on ball games. I made a offset steering wheel table which locks in place with two flat shelf brackets bent into a "u". I now have a 50" TV sitting on that table. I have two small safety chains running from the top of the TV to the cabinet above. While traveling I use the couch cushions and the table to hold the TV on the couch. It is supported by a holding strap. Works for me and I can read scores. Ken Parsons 72707
  12. Laurice. I attempted to reply a few days ago but I didn't hit the correct button. I have a 02 Dip. At one of the Come Home Monaco Alleys a tech noticed that my slide weather strip was turning in when the slide was out. He installed a length of "no slip" tape about 1" out from the weather strip which forced the weather strip to roll out stopping any water from entering. The tech's weather strip became smooth over the years and recently I got lots of water in my bedroom. I found the weather strip turned in acting like a tunnel pouring water inside the coach. I have since replace the No Slip, problem solved. Ken Parsons
  13. Bruce. By chance do you have new tires. I took my 02 Diplomat to Redlands Trk and RV a couple years ago. Got two Michelin tires on the front. I also had a big vehicle alignment ($699), Safety Steer ($949), oil pack wheel bearings, all new Koni shocks ($1990), complete brakes including drum turning, plus other items. I left and soon noticed a steering wheel vibration continuously at all speeds. I had three wheel balance jobs, one which was tires on vehicle, and still had vibration. I kept telling Michelin that I felt their tires were out of round. Went to Michelin and only got visual inspection (refused to drive my coach). 5000 miles later I needed new rear tires. I had two new tires placed on the front. WOW, No vibration. Ken Parsons 72707
  14. Thanks for the replies. I called NW RV in Eugene and they were $799 but gave me several salvage yards. Tried a couple but appeared impossible task. They and a couple of you told me about Pacific RV Mirror. Called them and a complete mirror is on the way for $700 including freight. Ken
  15. Pulling into a RV Park spot and watching left side tooo much and hit mirror on right side. Now hanging by wires on the end of the arm. Broke PLASTIC joint inside the mirror. I don't see anyway to open it up for repair. Called around for VELVAC 714618 or Monaco #21601154. Had to send email (no phone listed) to Velvac few minutes ago. Called one repair shop and was told $1000 from him or $600+ from Velvac. NW RV in Eugene, Or sent me a list of salvage places. On the road so bought a 8"convex I plan to SS strap onto Velvac arm to get me home. Any ideas? Ken Parsons 02 Diplomat
  16. Prince. I too received the same email from Directv. I guess that only option other than switch companies, which I would never do, is to call Directv everytime I move or get Directv to adopt Dish's ability to allow customers to be able to do switching themselves. I certainly would not spend the $$ to re-antenna. Time will tell. Ken Parsons 72707
  17. Larry. Yes there are fuses? I have a 02 Diplomat and it is located in the basement compartment under the driver seat. I can't remember if it was in the large (12" x 18") fuse box or one of two smaller fuse boxes under the large fuse box. Use a bright flashlight and maybe a magnifying glass to read the small print in the smaller fuse boxes. Or use a test light that connects to a ground and has a sharp point to touch the two contacts on each auto type fuse to see if the fuse is good. Keep looking it is there. Ken Parsons
  18. Since I started this topic on "Directv" I will give you on Directv an update. After sending in my application I called the normal sign in phone number and asked for DNS. A normal person, not DNS answered and put me on hold. After 20 minutes I hung up. Well two days ago I went to 390-399 and wow! I had 391, 393. 395, 397, 399. Networks "west". Haven't see charge on my bill but guessing it will be $15 a month. Really too bad that AT&T doesn't know anything about customer service. Better day tomorrow.
  19. Boy have I learned allot since my original post. First Directv under AT&T doesn't have trained personnel. I have been told Distant Network Service doesn't exist even though it is on Directv's website called Travelers. After asking someone else in tech support I was told to call Winegard. I did call Winegard and a very knowledgeable lady said she would email the forms for DNS. Wouldn't you know the form have in large letters the Directv loto. Yet know one (over 7 different specialists) in tech support or customer retention knew anything about DNS. I mailed in the forms to DNS in Colorado along with a very long letter. Hopefully I will get my east/west networks back. I will report when and if I do. For those Directv customers, thanks for your help. Ken
  20. Dennis. Thanks for the reply on Directv. I googled SHVERA and got several interesting hits but. Could you write out what SHVERA means? Also do you know of a way to get even "west coast networks" back? Directv does have a "Network Waivers Unit in Greenwood Colorado with no phone and so far any response to a letter. I have a mining claim in Nevada with no address for Directv to assign another spot beam to. Thanks again.
  21. I have had Directv since 1996 and subscribed to east/west coast networks. Back then Directv add "rv" at the end of my account which justified having E/W networks. Directv found that to be cost benefitical to RVer calling for a switching to a new "service location" several times a week. I always thought the fee was for east coast. My mistake as trying to reduce the constantly rising month fee and bad info from "customer retention" person, I canceled it. Within a couple hours finding I lost both E/W networks I called back to get it reversed. NO DEAL! I was told that customer retention would apply to get channels 390 to 399 back but didn't hold out much success. What is everybody else doing? Ken Parsons 72707 02 dip
  22. It takes a lot of time and effort to maintain such a great website for the use of so many. I personally thank you for dedication. Ken and Joanne Parsons #72707 02 Diplomat
  23. I had a similar problem and have always used: rvawnings1.com 813 956 6827. I have broken several parts to my Carefree electric awning and they have parts. The last one was the in/out switch and power unit. They sent me a new switch and a wire around the power switch. I had to make a new mounting plate but it works!! Ken Parsons 02 Diplomat pbdd
