  1. I would think that it would be better to rotate your old steer tires to the same side on the rear so that they stay as pairs. This would keep similar sized tires due to wear to be matched on a side instead of putting one on each side and potentially had slightly mismatched diameters. Curious to what others may think

  2. Always enjoy your detailed posts Mike. Thanks again for sharing. I put Toyos on last year and am very happy with them. The only difference that I noticed compared to the Michelin’s is that the Toyos are slightly noisier. Not at a leave that they are irritating and after a couple trips I didn’t even notice it, just slightly different. Ride and handling are the same to me.
So happy Spring is close and we will be getting out there again before long

  3. Considering how much oil and grime that you have on the unit and how low the oil was it seems like you have a leak. I would clean it real good and then have someone actuate each slide one at a time in each direction while you observe the unit. The only way the unit should be low on fluid is due to a leak somewhere.

  4. I definitely would not put any type of stop leak in my differential, or anything else for that matter. As Jet mentioned, it is not a difficult job and if you decide it’s a little much for you to consider it should be crazy money to replace it. Guessing a competent garage would charge around 2 hours time plus parts. Might be the right time to change the gear lube also.
