  1. The Ugly Fix is a module that replaces the altimeter module. It makes the engine think it’s alway at high altitude and therefor keeps the EGR valve closed. The benefits of this are slightly better fuel mileage, very slight. To me the bigger benefit is keeping soot out of the crankcase. I installed one a couple years ago and the difference in the cleanliness of the oil is amazing. Now my oil is still translucent after thousands of miles. So good to keep that abrasive soot out of the motor
  2. Thanks Tom, the coach has HWH slides. Hydraulic with the typical electric bed slide. Jack system is totally separate. Since my time left in Fl before heading north is getting short so is the time I have to help him out. I didn’t open the RRB compartment yet. I will look there during my next run to his coach and I will bring the needed tools. Yesterday’s stop was to help him understand the working of the systems so I didn’t bring anything with me. Then the jack situation came up. He wants to take it out for a local weekend getaway this weekend so he will use air leveling for now. I’m sure my phone will be ringing this weekend and there will be a good list of questions and issues to undertake early next week
  3. Thanks for the reply. I did not check the fluid level. The owner was able to deploy them before I arrived but the front one would not retract. When I got there the warning light on the display was blinking. I located the pump and open the solenoid to allow the front jack to retract. Warning light went out but cannot actuate any jack. Power light on display does come on on the display when turning on. Thinking fuse to the pump is open but can’t find it. Didn’t have my tools so could check for voltage at the pump
  4. Continuing to help my friend with his new to him Rig. Got the new toilet in and the old Magnum Opus is going to Paul Wittle. Went up to it today to help him understand the systems etc and the hydraulic jacks don’t work. Power light comes on on the control but none of the lights above the switches comes on when activating and none of the jacks move. Figured I’d look for a fuse but his front run bay is empty compared to my Executive. Just bussbars and connectors. No low voltage fuses. Looked everywhere inside the coach…nothing, except the Aladdin modules. Anyone know where the low voltage fuses may be?
  5. I’m not aware of a class of S.S. that is rated/recommended for high load, high stress conditions. What class do you use for these applications?
  6. I did the same thing SteveP did for the same reason. Works fine and don’t have to worry about someone else having access to my other account(s)
  7. Also, check the cable connections at the Aladdin box that is inside the dash and accessible by removing the cover on top of the dash. I had the same issue and a connector had come off there
  8. Not trying to make an argument by any means Paul but I would be concerned about using stainless bolts in any application that encounters high stress situations. They are rather soft and are not recommended for high load/ stress applications. I love stainless fasteners and use them as much as possible but for high load and high impact stress needs I go with grade 8. Besides the higher hardness I like the anti corrosive properties that the coating provides.

  10. If you are needing to replace that cross pipe I would suggest you take a real close look at the area that’s after the turbo. In many cases that is the first area to fail. Usually starts with small pin holes
  11. The pipe that goes under the oil pan was flattened from the factory in many cases. Mine was on my 06 Exec. When I replaced it I used round pipe and it is still slightly above the protective crossmember. If your pipe looks like it has a uniform flat but otherwise is in good shape then it does not need replacing
  12. How do the paint lines match with the slide closed? Do yoI know who’s slide system you have? Thinking maybe the slide may have settled which could cause this condition also
  13. Sounds like you have a dead short somewhere. I would dig in under the step to look for a wire that has been compromised
  14. Has it always been that way? Is that a roller where the arrow on the right is? If so, I’d try to investigate to be sure that there isn’t anything stuck under there that the roller is on top of. If it clean then I would consider lowering that roller.
  15. I installed a switch on my toad brake pedal wired to a light on my coach dash so I know when the toads brakes are activated by the NSA system. Gives good piece of mind to know the status
  16. Good job. Just for future reference., that section of cabinet was built to be removable. You can see how it is radiused where it meets the other section. Remove the screws along the side and wiggle while searching for any additional screws, remove them and it will slide out to gain more access
  17. Yes making progress but his new to him coach needs ALOT of love. Makes me feel real good about the condition of my coach. I could spend a lot of time working on his Patriot but we’re only in Marco for a few more weeks and I’m not going to spend it wrenching on it. Did a laundry list of things so far and left him today with plenty of detailed direction and advice to continue. Will go back if he needs me to help steer him or help him if he’s stuck. I feel a bit bad for him knowing what he paid for that coach considering the condition of it.
  18. So I just found that the yellow wire that I found loose goes to the “HI” setting on the seat heater so it must have gone to the heating element itself. I’m digging that deep into his seat so I capped it. Told him that if his butt gets cold drive south
  19. Nice work Mike and thank you for sharing it. I, for one, would love to see the maintenance video you mentioned. Your coach looks as good as ever. Have you heard anything regarding the workmanship at Mike’s Custom Painting since the business was sold? Just wondering if they continue to do the type of work that they did when they did your rig
  20. Certainly a possibility that a caliper froze but lack of maintenance and corrosion were not the culprits since it is not more than a year old
  21. I see from his post that he had the NSA system. I have their system also which is a cable operated surge brake system which I do like very much. From I read the toad was not hooked to the coach and his wife was driving it. Since it seems that it was newly installed I can’t help but wonder if the actuator cable or the breakaway cable could have jammed but I would think that the dealer would have found that during the repair

Yeah, there’s a bunch of wires under there and either someone was into his seat previously of the factory did a crap job of managing them. I wasn’t able to get back to his coach today. Hopefully tomorrow. I’ll update if I find it’s home
