    4) IF you have a BIRD or IRD system controlled by electronics and it fails, don't attempt to fix it...bypass it.  Install the ML-ACR.   It is such a simple, robust device which allows manual control at the device itself, should you foolishly choose not to install the remote switch.

Could you please give me some detailed info on how you "bypass" the BIRD.  What did you do with the wiring connected to the BIRD?  That's the one thing keeping me from installing the ML-ACR.  Thanks

Per Ernie, glued down, engineered hardwood flooring is the way to go.

I replaced all of my carpeting with hand scraped engineered hardwood flooring. With the hand scraped, you can easily repair any nicks, etc. and it blends in. We glued the flooring down. One thing I learned in doing this is that because of the confined space, it is much easier to back butter each piece rather than spread the glue across the floor.

Did you have strange issues at idle? Jim mentioned that that his alt fail light came on due to low idle speeds...

Don't remember having problems at idle.  I noticed that my batteries were not being charged when going down the road.  Ran my generator to keep it charged until I got home and could make the change.
