  1. Will do, David.  I'm sending mine back to them to see if it can be rebuilt. They'll rebuild it for about, I think $100....Dennis

The access on my 2007 Signature is limited and I found it to be much easier with the solenoid tool HWH sells.  I made a tool for the first one I replaced.  Get the old one rebuilt for a spare, HWH is reasonable on rebuilds.

Jim, which tool did you use or are all three necessary to switch it out? Thanks...Dennis

  2. David, I'm sorry I didn't respond to your previous post. I had a gremlin somewhere in my internet 'stuff' which Scotty helped me with so I never received a lot of things that were posted. I went back and read what you had posted and yes, I had done the in/out procedure. Strange thing is the generator slide now stays in but the rear slide is creeping out. I called HWH and talked to Paul since we were on the road. He told me they had them in stock, new and rebuilt. The difference in the two are the rebuilt ones have the 1/4 nut on them while the new ones have a flip switch. We are now stable for a bit so I ordered it. I paid $215 for the solenoid. He said to use a pair of water pump pliers to remove the old one and tighten the new one after bleeding the system.

The reason for my post was to get some real life experience from someone as opposed to some 'pro' writing the instructions that come with the part. My son is an IT engineer and when he tries to help me with my internet stuff, he starts out ok but then flies way over my head. Sometimes following the instructions differs from real experience.....I appreciate all the help I can get. This forum is an excellent place to get that info...Dennis

  3. My rear slide on the driver's side has decided to creep out about 7 inches when driving so I've ordered the extended solenoid from HWH this afternoon. Once received, I'll attempt to install it. My solenoids are under the front step well. Any suggestions to make my life easier would be appreciated. I know Visa/Mastercard would be the easiest solution but I am pretty sure I can do this myself. I'm hoping Paul Maddox sends me some good instructions with the valve. We spoke for quite awhile on the phone this afternoon. Anyone who has changed one or more themselves, please share your experience. Thanks....Dennis

  4. WOW! I posted this back in March 2020. I do apologize for not following up. I've installed the SeeLevel II system and am fairly pleased with the outcome. I decided not to use the Aladdin system due to all it's faults, real or imagined. I installed the SLII easily enough as all three tanks are accessible on the passenger side compartment. I'll post some pics tomorrow when it's light out. I fished the wire through the tank bay which comes out right next to the dump bay on the driver's side. I mounted the panel head in that compartment and decided the extra head wouldn't be necessary as I'm not so concerned with the tanks that I can't go outside and look. I also mounted a three gang toggle switch which turns on the LED lights, the macerator and the head unit itself. Everything works as designed and I'm pleased with the install....Again, I apologize for not following up and I'll post the pics tomorrow.....Dennis

  5. Lightning can do all sorts of weird things to your electrical things. Most likely your Aladdin system has bit the bullet. If your coach runs fine without it, there are suitable replacements. We had one strike a block away while in Billings Montana. Took out the surge protector, the transfer switch, the microwave, the middle A/C and several other minor items. Fortunately, the coach was under warranty and Monaco spent almost a month repairing everything in Coburg. Ugly situation for sure. You don't say where you are, but I'd check for a knowledgeable RV technician in your area. Try RVServiceReviews.com for starters......best of luck....Dennis

    I 2nd that.

I'm old enough to remember when we could travel to Ensenada with our motor home without even thinking about our safety. The biggest issue was getting through Tijuana with the coach. We loved the beaches at San Felipe, riding ATVs on the sand at Rocky Point, even shopping at Juarez. Would I take my coach there today? Heck no. California, Oregon and Washington are fast following in Mexico's footsteps as far as being visitor/RV friendly. If it wasn't for their weather or their beauty they would be very few people who would live there. One can only be taxed so much before they look for alternatives.....Dennis

    Ouch!

You were in water right up to the calipers?

All the way to the bottom of the bay doors with the coach raised as high as it would go. We would have moved to higher ground but the toad was in front of the coach with water over the brake pedal. No electronics as they're all under the seats. It was totaled.....Dennis

  8. Hard to find campgrounds in Kansas? Try this one. 12 spaces with plenty of room for big rigs. Three tier pricing, pay at the iron ranger. Tier 1 is $10;  20/30/50amp electric. Tier 2 is $15;  20/30/50amp electric + water. Tier 3 is $30;  20/30/50amp electric + water + sewer. We didn't feel $15/night for sewer was worth it. We spent a few days and paid the extra on the last night to dump the tanks. First come, first serve.  GPS coordinates : 37.046903, -100.942446

  9. Scotty, please post when a newsletter is sent out, at least for the next couple times.  I have received nothing in the past several months. It would be nice to know when they are sent as we can then verify if we've received it or not. Thank you...Dennis

If the only issue is that it needs a new monitor why not just replace the monitor? That’s what I did at a cost of about $50

Steve, could you tell me what brand and model monitor you used for replacement. Mine is part of the radio with the flip up screen which is a POS, Thanks....Dennis

  11. Rob, I replaced mine while at a campground. Pretty easy to install. Couple bolts, a wire and an air line IIRC Spray the thing with PB blaster and let it sit overnight. That should allow the bolts to come off easily. Took about 20 minutes. If you're not mechanically inclined or just don't want to fuss with it, any mobile mechanic can do it for you. Best place to look for one is rvservicereviews.com, put in your city and pick one......Dennis
