Jon, below is a link to how I upgraded my television to the Smart TV. Pretty simple and with your skills should be a snap. I used the smart TV and a sound bar, doing away with all the junk and weight that Monaco had installed. Much easier, much lighter and much better equipment. Upgraded the TV

@Pduggs Originally I had that huge silver box which connected the surround system to my TV. When I upgraded I used an above average Visio sound bar which mounted next to the new 40" TV. Only took some minor woodworking. The sound from the bar is as good, if not better than the surround system. I still have the surround system which I have hooked up to my DVD player. That was a PITA. I believe there is a box available that will allow you to plug your cables into and then run a HDMI cord to your TV. I'll have to research it later and if I find it, I'll post the link. I've got an appointment this morning so I'll try to get to it tonight.....Dennis

I've found the park hookup outside has a splitter in it to run to front and rear TVs. That splitter needs to be removed if you're going to use a satellite dish. I have three extra cables in the front box that have never been used. These coaches used to use those big boxes with the push buttons. The new TVs don't need all that junk. Remember the OLD sat dishes needed TWO leads, now they only require ONE......Dennis

Remember when? Way back when DirecTV was actually a good choice for programming. That was before being taken over by AT&T. Like BofA, the company too big to fail. IMO, AT&T is the worst for customer service, both for phone as well as TV....We split our phone service, my wife has AT&T and I have Verizon. While neither is perfect, I find better service from Verizon. At least we are assured of having some level of connectivity wherever we are.......Dennis

Supposedly AT&T were having 'issues' the past couple days. I opened a ticket with DTV yesterday myself and spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with them today. I was told it was fixed. Mine work now....Dennis

I paid $384 to South Dakota but that was for the coach, the Equinox, the Mercedes and the Ram.!!! No smog and no safety inspection either. Mine come due in May so that figure may rise....we'll see. Remember when a 1/2 gallon of ice cream was actually a 1/2 gallon.? Or a can of tuna was actually 12oz.?? They think we can't read labels and keep selling less product but make it look like the containers are the same size..... Be safe...time to enjoy life....Dennis

BlueOx has the offer to send the tow bar back to them for many years. At least 12 that I know of. We looked at the BO lineup when shopping for a tow setup and decided on the Ready Brute only because of the braking system. That was one of their selling points then. We still run the BlueOx baseplate which I've run on my last four toweds. That said, my final thought on this thread is that it doesn't appear the claimant took very good care of his equipment based on the provided pictures. This would leave me to believe he wasn't real particular when doing his inspection. He was also towing a very heavy vehicle which, even though within the tow bar's specs, still would put a lot more stress on the towing equipment if he were to do something foolish, intentionally or not. A lighter vehicle might not have stressed the tow bar quite as much. I'll sign off this thread and let the legal beagles fight the fight. Looking at all the pictures gives a better understanding of what 'broke'. While it is impossible for us to determine why, I would offer the same conclusion as Moonwink. For those two tabs to "snap" at the same time, at some point in time they suffered severe stress. Only the owner knows when that occurred. It's also possible he isn't even aware he put stress on the tow bar, but it's obvious someone did. If one of the tabs failed, the other would show some twisting before following it's brother. The fact they snapped off in unison suggests the tow bar suffered extreme stress at some point. Rust could also be a factor. Looking at the rest of the poster's equipment suggests some level of neglect. Just my opinion of course.....Dennis

IMO, it's still not clear as to what failed. It appears the two ears broke off. Those two ears simply provide support for the tow bar when it's in the stowed position. They would have zero impact when the tow bar is deployed. From the pictures posted on the other site, it appears the failure occurred inside the tow apparatus itself. One picture shows only the 2" bar in place with the rest missing. Too much misinformation which produces too much speculation. In order to make an intelligent assessment, IMO, one needs to have pictures which show the entire bar, then some closeups of the damaged/failed area. With the information provided I believe it's imperative that we simply check OUR equipment and ensure what WE are using is safe and operable. We are also ASSUMING the failed equipment was NEVER stressed or compromised in any fashion. I know I buried mine one time when the roadway failed as I was attempting a u-turn because a bridge was washed out. This worried me until I was able to have the tow bar checked by a professional and given a green light as to it's worthiness. Remember, safety first, for you, your family and those with whom we share the road.....Dennis

Your coach should have THREE separate and DIFFERENT system protection devices, each with a different job to do. The smoke detector is usually mounted in the kitchen ceiling. The LPG, (propane) detector is usually mounted near the floor under the stove. Propane is heavier than air so it needs to be mounted at floor level. Finally the CO, (Carbon Monoxide) detector is ceiling mounted, usually in the bedroom to protect you when you're asleep. CO is lighter than air so that detector is mounted higher up. Extra smoke detectors can be added of course. If replacing detectors ensure you are replacing them with EXACT replacements. CO for CO, Smoke for Smoke and LPG for LPG. They are NOT interchangeable... ...Dennis

If it's for the step cover, there should be a 'master' switch on the driver's panel. On my coach that switch controls the step cover but it also turns OFF the passenger switch so it can't be accidentally activated.....Dennis

Ray, there were devices that allowed the transfer from one bottle to another. They were unreliable and basically unsafe in the wrong hands. I had one and never could get it to work. That may mean I have the wrong hands. 😆 Regardless, I believe they a no longer made due to legal issues. I'll see if I can find the write up.......Dennis

Relays are so cheap yet so beneficial, one has to wonder why they're not used when they should be. Spend a buck to save a nickel.....Dennis

You can use a simple A-B switch. I used the park cable hookup in the wet bay for my remote antenna. I use the regular Sat dish antenna for regular viewing. Switch is on A, regular viewing. If I need to put out the remote dish, I hook it to the outside cable hookup and switch it to B. If you use the same cable, use a splitter to connect them...Easy fix....Dennis

Do you have an "inspection plate" above the gauges? Mine is secured by hidden screws and allow access from above. Much easier....Dennis

On my 96 Dynasty, the ABS light would come on periodically for no apparent reason. There is a small sensor attached to the wheel which controls that function. Sometimes they get dirty or one of the wires is compromised. I've also had it activated when going too fast over a speed bump. It would reset itself once I got back on the road and exceeded, IIRC, about 30mph. I had no button/switch....Dennis
