So, why wasn't your gaget screaming like a banshee, and left you with 100gal to sop up?

Cuz I got it AFTER the flood. I didn't even know they existed until after that. Funny how things like that smarten one up. Which is exactly WHY  I posted this here. Hoping to prevent someone else from suffering the same fate as me. $11 bucks woulda saved me a lot of grief had I known then.....Dennis

  2. I had the rubber cover for the wiper mount split on mine. Went to the junkyard and picked up a couple. Those aren't really Monaco specific IIRC. Probably your local NAPA store will have them. Amazon has a couple sets but you'd have to compare them to be sure. Try google, Screw in Wiper Nozzle for RV Fire Truck..

As for wiper blades, I replace mine every couple years from Sam's Club. I rarely drive in the rain but when I do, it's nice to have fresh rubber on the windshield......Dennis

  3. As we get older, we tend to 'forget' things which leads us to slap ourselves in the forehead and ask how could we be so dumb. Well, maybe not all, but I know I'm in that group. 😁

Anyway, sometimes we forget the grey tank is closed when we thought it was open. Things happen. Sometimes leaks occur when we least expect them to. A while ago we were traveling south in the wee hours of the morning and my DW got up to go to the restroom. She 'forgot' to turn off the water pump. Unfortunately, I had left a couple pieces of floor tiles up against the faucet in the wet bar. As I merrily traveled down the highway, one of those tiles moved and turned on the faucet in said wet bar. About an hour later DW got up to get me a cup of coffee and stepped onto very soggy carpeting. I had about 100 gallons of fortunately fresh water all over the interior. Several hours later with a full hamper of wet towels and we were on our way again. Stopped at Wally World and picked up a carpet cleaner to suck up whatever water was left, along with several fans to air dry everything. Lesson learned.

So what's the purpose of this post? Here's is what I learned from that experience. Water can leak at any time. Water will seek it's own course when leaking. It's our job to stem the flow when that occurs. Here is a gadget that IMO, should be in every coach. It simply sits on the floor,(I placed mine right outside the shower) out of the way and screams like a banshee when it gets the slightest hint of water. Cost is 11 bucks at your local Home Depot. Amazon also has them if you don't want to drive.....Dennis

  4. Forecast???? Heck, here in Arizona it said clear. Went to bed in 80 degree weather under mostly clear skies. Woke up this morning at 3AM to pouring rain. By 9AM it was clear again and 83 degrees....Weather man guesses a lot. Speaking of forecasts, what's the difference between "Partly Cloudy" and "Partly Sunny". If it's cloudy would that block the sun and make it partly sunny? Inquiring minds want to know.🤥 I've always thought that was kinda weird......Dennis

  5. The lights are easy enough to check. Look underneath first and look for a frayed wire. You could swap one of the front bulbs with a rear one and test them that way. You are talking about the side lights, right? Not the two on the rear of the coach.....Dennis

  6. Jon, wishing you well and good fortune on your trip. Weather is awesome everywhere and people seem to be more friendly again. Enjoy the trip. Be sure to post your experience. Hope you have some nice vinyl to play. Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again, comes to mind.......Dennis

  7. From your picture, it appears the wallpaper around the upper hole has been peeled back which is why I 'assumed' it was from a previously mounted device. If it's a 1/4" hole, then it's most likely the correct one. I'd still feel around for an indent just in case....Dennis

@Jonbrooks nice.  I'm curious as the lighted grab bar. Stock? Aftermarket?  Is it dimmable?

Steven, all the grab bars are lightable. (Is that a word?) There is a small lamp fitted inside the satin piece that houses the light. Doesn't affect the grab bar but adds a nice touch if you're entering a darkened coach. On ours the outside bar lights as does the one inside the door. I've had to replace the outside one, (expensive) as the grandkids used it as a pulling bar to get into the coach. UGH! They have them at Veurinks RV. They are not dimmable......Dennis

Dennis, maybe I'm asking the wrong question.

The OP's statement that "all the breakers were tripped" is what got my attention. With normal breakers there is no way in hell they could ALL trip. My assumption then was that they were "auxiliary trip" breakers and that the aux input was controlled by some smart monitoring system.

Am I close or am I totally off in the weeds somewhere?

I don't know what happened but if all his breakers tripped it's because of a major 'short' in his system which should be diagnosed as soon as possible. My guess is a loose wire INSIDE his electrical panel. Remember, breakers 'trip' by getting HOT. After they cool they can be reset. Somewhere he experienced a short. We had a lightning strike about 100' from our coach in Billings Montana. It fried my middle A/C, the microwave, the transfer switch and several other smaller items but it did not trip all the breakers. I bonded around the transfer switch to re establish power until we could get it repaired, (coach was under warranty). Electricity can do strange things sometimes, but it's usually easily traceable and corrected. Hope this answers your question. The simple answer is no, the Intellitec system does not trip breakers in the electrical panel. It simply monitor's and shuts down the electrical supply to whatever device it's programmed to do so to....Dennis

  10. WOW! I would have to say NO! Those look like something was mounted to the panel there. The "hole" IMO would be perfect. Most likely covered in wallpaper. Use your finger and feel around for an indent. I would think it'd be a 1/4" hole as that's what most hole saws use for a pilot drill. Last thing I'd want to do is cut a 4" hole in the wrong place....Dennis

  11. Harvey, if I understand your question correctly, the Intellitec EMS system simply monitors  your electrical distribution and supplies electricity to your devices based on a pre-programmed 'need', shutting off devices as usage exceeds supply. In other words, if you're running three A/C units and turn on the microwave, the EMS system may shut off one of the A/Cs as you would be exceeding the electrical supply. I know this is simplified but I hope you get the gist of what it does....Dennis

  12. I found truck stops to be too busy and too noisy. Also, I don't want to get in the trucker's way anymore than I have to. That said, Home Depot and Lowes are good alternatives to WalMarts.  Be courteous, get permission if possible, DON'T LITTER OR DUMP, and spend a little money in the store if possible. Another alternative I've found is church parking lots. Except on Sundays, (Saturdays, depending) they are very accommodating. Same courtesy as outlined above.....Dennis

@Jim McGarvie Depending on how far south you're going, there is an awesome Elks Lodge in Willcox...D
