  1. While trying to find out why my Coach Step won't retract I found this wire dangling in the passenger side of the generator cavity. But I am unable to find where or what it may attach too. I'm hopping it the answer to my step problem, but either way I'm sure it should be connected to something.
  2. I just left the area, spent the night at JC Refrigeration's parking lot in Shipshewana to upgrade our 4-door 1200-series Norcold to a 12 volt residential fridge with a 6am appointment I had made back in April. While there I took a long shot and looked up the local Dometic dealer, found National RV Refrigeration, 3 miles away. Gave them a call and they said they could squeeze us in at 1pm the next day to install a new Penguin II High Capacity unit W/ Heat Pump replace my non-working Penguin unit W/ Heat Pump. The old Penguin had decided it would only work in Heat Pump mode and then just gave up the ghost. With temps in the plus 90s the last few weeks I was willing to replace both ACs and the controller, as one AC was not cutting it. JC Refrigeration had us done by 8:30 so I headed to National RV Refrigeration, hoping I could get in a little early as I had a campground reservation two hours away. I was amazed to find an AC tech that decided to trouble shoot the problem instead of just replacing the unit(s). After four hours in light rain the AC was working great and the bill was under $100, I wrote them a check for a bit more more knowing I had just saved a bunch of money. I know Shipshewana will be in my travels in the future, maybe I'll even get to visit the RV museum in Elkhart.
  3. I have a manual but no Electric schematic and none in the download section, I have asked REV but no response yet. I can only wish it would fail because I would never fix it. That button has been pressed dozens of time accidentally.
  4. Nope, the house batteries are quickly charged by the 1440 watts of solar panels on the roof, I even have turned off the Magnum charger and the Victron Orion DC-DC Charger connected to the alternator. He removed the two battery bank jumper cables going to the Trombetta. You can see the jumper cables in the bottom of the first picture I posted. I assume I'll need to reinstall the jumpers and remove the purple "relay" wire from the Bird in the front run distribution box below the driver seat in the outside compartment.
  5. Anybody know where this Battery Cut-Off Relay is in a 2008 Diplomat 36 PDQ? That thing has bit our butt to many times...
  6. My solar installer completely disconnected the the Trombetta to isolate the LiFePO4 Batteries from the chassis AGM batteries. The 1440 watts on the roof keeps the house batteries nicely charged, but parasitic draw on the chassis batteries when we are parked will kill them in about two weeks so I put in an AC trickle charger to maintain them. How can restore the emergency "boost" system?
  7. I see that the entry for the Monaco Diplomat RR8R doesn't include what years, meaning they all need it. Guess I better give Source Engineering a call.
  8. Not yet, we're on 50 amp so no need. We've lost power a couple of times and it comes right on.
  9. We replaced our ME2012 with a Magnum Energy MSH3012 Pure Sine Wave Hybrid Mobile Inverter when we added the solar panels and Battleborn batteries. 3,000 watts and can augment your power when only running of 20-15 amps. Now I just need to figure out how to feed it to the bedroom outlets and ACs.
  10. My Calyx Institute membership uses Sprint (and now T- Mobile) and has unlimited 4G data and no throttling. There have been several PRL (preferred roaming list) updates to expand the hotspots' access to the T-Mobile network when Sprint is not available. Since the updates, it has become my goto hotspot, sometimes getting amazing speed. I also have AT&T and Verizon hotspots that have unlimited 4G data but they are both throttled. https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/sprint-non-profit-unlimited-hotspot-plans-gain-access-to-t-mobile-roaming-calyx-pcs-for-people/
  11. I could use the correct part number for a 2008 Diplomat 36PDQ and the name of a good installer.
  12. How often should I change the oil in my lawn mower?
  13. When we first got Bullwinkle the front Duo-therm AC died while we were in Florida, lucky it was winter. The first Mobile RV service tech quoted us $3,000 to replace, but said we need to get two of them and a new thermostat because they moved the circuit board to the controller all for just $7,000. I recommended they try a new startup capacitor, but he wasn't interested in doing that. I called a second tech, basically the same story, but the next day he showed up with a startup capacitor. A few moments later there was a loud pop up on the roof and he said he'd come by the next day and fix it. Cost $100 (he only wanted $80) I am really considering installing a SoftStartRV or a EasyStart 364 Soft Starter to keep the startup capacitor from blowing.
  14. Sorry, if I inferred the cross-bars, with front and rear Watts links caused the minor pulling to the right. Before It was a constant fight just to keep her on the road, she was constantly see-sawing back and forth going down the road, a little pull to the right was the least of my problems. The strait line tracking improvement with the MonacoWatts is amazing, at this point I'm just being picky. I don't have a Safety-Steer device installed, but on my old F-53 chassis I installed a Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer, it was a secure feeling against front tire blowouts so I'll probably will stop by Tallapoosa, GA to get a a Safe-T-Plus installed. The boss doesn't let me go under or on top of the coach anymore.
  15. I just had the full MonacoWatts system installed, made a great improvement, but now I need to get an alignment as she pulls a little to the right. I would also like to swap out my Sheppard steering box for the TRW. Does anyone have a recommendation for someone in Indiana to do the work? I'm getting some other work done there and thought that might be the perfect time and place to have this done. Thanks in advance.
  16. I replaced my 4 button with the EasyTouch RV Thermostat from Micro-Air. A great upgrade with bluetooth and wi-fi, I love it. EasyTouch RV Thermostat
  17. Anyone know the secret to removing the Five Button Thermostat? I don't want to destroy it during disassembly.
  18. If you go to their website you can put in your RV info and they will provide you with the proper model to purchase. https://www.microair.net/products/easytouch-rv-thermostat?variant=32199143555156 I'm thinking about getting one.
  19. I use RV Life combined with RV TripWizard https://rvlife.com When my Garmin 780 RV GPS dies I won't replace it, I'll just use RV Life.
