Todd, What is the topic/summary of the discussion? Clicking the link did not provide any info.

Engine Oils and Lube Filtration is their tile. I posted the title as Fleet School Oils and Lubricants.
BTW you can Zoom without being on camera. There is a way to listen to the audio too on your phone but without the video you don’t get the full experience. I’ll try to paste the link for those who don’t want to Zoom.

One video you should probably watch is YouTube AZExpert

This Video he talks about installing. He says next weeks will be all about the stuff he does so it charges correctly. He is an RV repair guy in AZ.  He has a Beaver about our same age.

One thing about Dc-Dc charger - mine is a 30amp - which makes it really slow to recharge if the battery is down a ways - 300 ah down divided by 30amps = 10 hrs of drive time - way too much. But it does help.  This summer Victron will have one that is 50amp.

If you put in a Victron Multiplus inverter/charger - it will charge at like 100 or 120amps - which on my 544ah battery is about .2C rate - I don’t want to charge any faster than that - and I still have solar going in. So if you go that route you won’t need a charger.

    What batteries are you getting?

Here’s another video that popped up on my feed of the same battery.

Yes, ES compleat is hybrid, the picture on the first page states nitrites, phosphates and silicates, none of which are organic OAT.  ES compleat OAT is strictly OAT, Es compleat NOAT has nitrites which makes it hybrid in my book, but it seems they have a separate category for NOAT.

Old World Industries is PEAK, and makes many OEM coolants, so I trust their info.  Notice many ELC, OAT coolants are actually NOAT or hybrid.  If you read deeper into the weeds, you'll find Cat mixing ELC extenders with SCA bases, or Cummins Fleetgard had a procedure to "convert" SCA to ELC OAT type, which would be a hybrid of sorts.

As far as I can tell, aluminum radiators are the biggest thing that pushed OAT, so if you replace a copper radiator with aluminum that's a good reason to switch.  But if you're still running a copper radiator, then SCA is nicer to your radiator, as long as you test or send in a sample.

edited to add:  not sure how much I trust this site, but I'll throw this into the discussion as well:

Good question to ask the hosts of the seminar.

  4. This past yr I had a shop look at my front end because of vibration at moderate to hard braking. The shoes looked really good they said but suggested replacing all the drums because they showed signs of heat cracks. I ask all the questions on how they could tell that with the drums on and they said experience tells them that. So they were pulling the fronts anyway for repacking the bearings. He said they would know more when they were pulled. They called and said the drums were within DOT specs as far as cracks and being round and said it was my call. I elected to put them back on and adjust all slack adjusters.

Hey my friend.  I've looked high and low in the front bay for that circuit.  took about 30 minutes to check for power on both side of the fuses, even the unmarked fuses.  Maybe I missed one.  I will try again tonight after work.   thanks for you input.

Hey,  i did find a possibility.  Fuse 31 in the drivers side bay.   ill check it tonight.   thanks for your help.  dale

That’s the run bay Dr4film was referring to.

  6. On my current and last coach I installed LED light strips and just cut the wires and left the ballast in place. I would do it in the summer when the cabin space is warmer for better adhesion to the light fixture. I haven’t experienced any failure of adhesive strips on the LED’s. I choose natural on the color spectrum for the LED’s. You can buy a roll and then extra pigtails to make up your own.

Well the plot thickens a bit. Apparently the shore power cord instead of having the typical 2-120v legs a neutral and ground had 1-120v leg, 1-240v leg and neutral and ground. We’re digging deeper into it this morning to see what we can find. I really appreciate all of your responses… Lots of great info!

Who put that receptacle in. Maybe it’s not being measured correctly.
