  1. I'm willing to bet you're right. Okay, since we're on a roll here, I found this plug under the drawers in the bedroom. It seems like Monaco installed one universal wiring harness in our coaches, regardless of whether it had that particular option of not....time saving vs cost saving measure I guess. I have a slew of plugs behind the dash that aren't connected to anything, including the air horns plug....our coach never had them. You are incredible, thank you, thank you, thank you. PM on the way.
  2. What is this wiring diagram and where can I get one? I've looked high and low for the LaPalma and found nada. Funny, the System Heater breaker isn't connected, yet it works perfectly in the Wet Bay.
  3. LOL! So Monaco put a wire in the doggone panel and it goes to nothing....classic. Oh well, at least I have peace of mind now. Thanks.
  4. Hi everyone, I'm hoping you all can solve this mystery. In our battery compartment is the slide-out relay panel and then a buss bar to the right of it. The picture, which I'm attaching, shows a blue wire over the slide-out relays, and it's not attached to anything. Does anyone know where it's supposed to go? Thanks in advance for the replies.
  5. Ours has the area for where it would be, but there is no storage door or compartment in the wet bay…ours is an early ‘05….mid-year redesign maybe, or someone forgot to install it? At first I was a bit bummed it wasn’t there, but now I’m thinking it’s a blessing.
  6. MAP sensor or MAF sensor? I haven’t touched my MAP sensor yet, but I probably need to inspect it. The exhaust theory makes sense. With the new exhaust system I had installed, which routed the pipes back to both sides of the rig, I could definitely tell that the back pressure had increased, because it had a bit more oomph going uphill, but the sound is still still too loud for my taste, so it’s going back in to the muffler shop tomorrow and getting resonators, in addition to the mufflers.
  7. I know what you mean, Tom. On our way to Vegas, we broke down in Wells and were towed to Elko…new MAF and O2 sensors overnighted from Brazel’s and we were on the road again in 1-1/2 hours. Instead of backtracking to Ely and continuing on Hwy 98, we took 376 into Tonopah…hills galore. Does yours have the crossover tube and single 4” exhaust or do you have 3” true dual exhaust? Ours has true duals. I had to have Brazel’s check for me, because the dreaded P.O. redid the exhaust and ran both pipes out the driver’s side and installed mufflers that made it sound like a NASCAR. That was the first thing fixed, after we got home from Vegas.
  8. Martin, It helps immensely. We just returned from our Las Vegas trip two weeks ago and averaged 7.3 mpg. Last week we went to McCall, Idaho and averaged 7.4 mpg. This week we went to Three Island Crossing State Park, at Glenn's Ferry, Idaho, but I didn't keep track of our fuel....I gassed up before we left and have about 1/2 tank left. We towed our Jeep CJ-5 on all of the trips. I'm not putting on the Banks headers, mainly because I've met Gale Banks and I don't care for his demeanor, plus I like the cast iron manifolds. I probably do need to replace the manifold gaskets though for good measure, as well as insulate the dog house, and I'll probably use DynaMat. Our interior is Onyx, in 2006 is was Onyx II, which gave you a bit different pattern than ours, but the paint scheme is the same...I have both brochures to compare.
  9. Installed the ECM & TCM upgrades from Brazel’s Ultra RV? Mine are shipping out tomorrow, and I’m curious what your results were. They advertise about 60hp and 80 lb/ft torque, which is pretty impressive, not quite 2005 DP territory but close.
  10. If your comment was directed at my post, the reason my Team Sergeant’s saying echoes in my head is because everyone at some point has done their share of stupid things, and it is always painful and/or expensive. Case in point, when we were leaving for Las Vegas two weeks ago, I left the e-brake engaged on our towed Jeep CJ-5…one of the brand new BF Goodrich KM3 Mud Terrains blew out. Cost me an entire new set of tires, because the nearest tire store didn’t carry BF Goodrich….expensive. Going under a bridge that is clearly marked with the height is stupid. Not paying attention to that sign is equally stupid. Doing stupid things doesn’t make you stupid, an idiot or a moron, something that was never said in this thread about the driver. Lighten up, Francis.
  11. Yes, but REV bought Monaco, you knew what he meant. To answer the question, there are two repair centers, one in Coburg, OR and the other is in Decatur, IN.
  12. I’m often reminded of my Team Sergeant saying, “Stupidity should be painful and expensive”.
  13. Never mind the fact that they would be overkill, with ours being on a Workhorse chassis, would 295's even fit the LaPalma?
  14. Call me paranoid but, with all the horror stories I’ve heard and seen concerning RV tires, I replace them every five years. I also use 303 Aerospace Protectant on the tires, to try and help with preventing sidewall check cracks.
  15. Our ‘05 LaPalma came with Michelin XRV 235/80-22.5 new, and it’s what I’m having installed next Thursday, to replace the wrong size Constellations, made by Alliance Tire Group, that the previous owner put on. I agree with you, no way no how could anyone ever pay me to put Goodyears on our coach.
  16. I remember the passenger tire issue, Firestone passed the buck to Ford, saying the tire inflation decal on the vehicles was wrong. Calling Morgan & Morgan only gets them richer. I just completed a 3-1/2 year litigation, after being rear-ended in my Corvette Z06. The settlement was $100,000 and I ended up with $33,000 when all was said and done.
  17. Those aren’t the only Goodyear tires that should have been recalled. When we owned our Airstream trailer, there were many owners on the Airstream forum complaining that their Goodyear Marathon tires were separating at the tread and blowing out too.
  18. With ours being the W24 gasser, we don’t have that worry. I did a lot of thinking, read a lot of articles and did even more research, before I made my decision to go with the stock size. It just rides way too harshly with the current size/ply.
  19. Yes, per the brochure it comes in at 9,000 and rear is 15,500.
  20. Constellation 255/70-22.5: 5510lbs - single @120psi; 5070lbs - dual @120psi....this is a 16-ply tire. I keep the factory inflation specs on the tires....100psi front and 95psi rear, and I don't like them one bit. Michelin 235/80-22.5: 4675lbs - single @110psi; 4410lbs - dual @110psi....this is a 14-ply tire.
  21. Our 2005 LaPalma came with the same tire size as yours, but it had 255/70-22.5 when we bought it. I went through FMCA’s tire program and bought a set of Michelin XRV 235/80-22.5…mounted and balanced out the door was $3895.21 for six tires. The cost per tire mounted and balanced was $580.59 The tires should arrive tomorrow and I’m having them installed at Jack’s Tire & Oil, in Boise. The current tires on the rig are Constellation, made by Alliance Tire Group, which is now owned by Yokohama, as I understand it. I didn’t like the difference in my speedometer reading, added to the fact that I can’t find a DOT date code to save my life on those tires, but I do know they were installed in 2019.
  22. Oh, it got worse, LOL!!!! I’m in Vegas, finally, at the horse show and on my third Old Fashioned, so I’ll give you all the K.I.S.S. version tomorrow.
  23. Yes they did! The driver was incredibly professional and quick. We’re in Elko now, sitting in a nice park with homeless people sleeping on benches enjoying some lunch. The parts from Brazel’s arrived right before we got to the dealership, so we should be back on the road this afternoon.
  24. We’re finally loaded up onto the flatbed and on our way to Gallagher Ford.
  25. Riverton Chevrolet in Elko doesn’t have the parts and they do NOT work on medium or heavy chevy trucks. It’s being towed to Gallagher Ford, which does work on RVs. I’m having the heated O2 sensors changed merely as a precaution, as the rig sat for about three years without use.
