  1. I am dropping the price to $74,900. A great Monaco, but I have to let it go.
  2. When I tested the spark on my burner, I would only get 1 short spark. Then I realized that my work light was hitting the sensor. I put a piece of black tape over the sensor, then the spark worked as I would have expected. You might want to try that.
  3. I saw a video of a car harassing the motorcycle in front of him in heavy traffic. The car hit the motorcycle rear wheel, and it lifted the front of the car 4 feet in the air. Trashed the motorcycle. At least it was at low speed.
  4. If that happened to a motorhome it would not be pretty!
  5. The pictures are from the diagram glued to the door of the panel. I also have the same 2002 Wiring Diagrams manual. I have noticed that my manual has about half the pages as the manuals from other years. I think that a lot is missing.

  7. I had problems with my salesman switch, sometimes it would work and others not. One of the problems was the long wire run from the switch on the dash to the relay. The voltage drop on the too thin wire did not provide enough current to pull the relay in reliably. The relay took 2 amps to pull in, but the long wire to the dash switch dropped almost 2 volts. If I jumpered the relay right at the relay, it worked reliably. I finally gave up on it and wired in a BIM module, which works great. However, when I removed the old salesman relay I noticed that it was marked as a 24 volt unit! No wonder it did not work well on 12 volts.
  8. If I had seen the SZDALOS system install thread, I would probably have bought that. It seems to me that the Weivision does the automatic calibration wrong. They have you put the calibration patterns directly under the cameras, at the center of each side. This does not give the software the ability to stitch the video together at the corners. The software has no idea where the corners are. I am thinking about trying the manual calibration again but with the patterns at the corners and trying to make the cameras match up the images. I am sure that this would be easy for a 12 year old with years of video game experience. The connectors that the Weivision uses thread together and are about 5/8" in diameter. The SZDALOS connectors are much smaller, which is a big plus for installation.

It was a lot of work mounting the cameras and running the wires, but I got it all done. I needed an extension cable for the rear camera. I contacted them, and they sold me one at a reasonable price. The quality of the cameras is good and the amount of work for the installation is about what I expected. The software is not so good. They provided 4 large checkerboard cloths for the calibration. There is a button to do an automatic calibration. The result was less than satisfactory. One of the very important things with such systems is to have no blind spots. The cameras can see from front to rear and side to side, that is not the problem. The cameras have a fish-eye lens and depend on the software to remove the extreme fish-eye distortion. This is necessary to be able to see at the corners of the vehicle. The automatic calibration leaves the corners completely blind. They provide a method for manually making the adjustments. Using this I got it better, but the corners are still not seen. If someone walks around the vehicle, they disappear at the corners. I think that with enough fiddling you could make the system adequate, but the user interface is so inconvenient that I gave up. For the money, it is probably worth it. It is fun to drive around and see everyone around you, but I am blind at the corners. There are American made systems that cost about $2000 and up. If you have driven a car with a 360 system, they can be very good. This Weivision system has the ability to update the software, which I hope that they will do.
  10. Whenever I see the insulation pulled back from the crimped connectors like you have, I think that there might be a bad connection. It could be a bad crimp, or a loose nut on the screw terminal, or it was originally sloppily made with the wire strands showing. A bad crimp or a loose nut will result in heating the connection, which can cause the insulation to melt and pull back. You should have a closer look.

  13. You could try to locate the other end by connecting an air compressor to it. The other end should be obvious. I have a bunch of air lines hanging unconnected like this near my airbags. I assume that those lines have a leak somewhere, and it is easier to run a new line than to try to find the leak.
  14. I used an Azulle Byte Plus Mini PC with a touch screen monitor. I shoved the PC on the floor behind the driver seat. I mounted the display on my dash next to my GPS. You don't need the keyboard or mouse after you set it up. Any Windows PC can run the Silverleaf software.
  15. I have exactly the same switch panel. My Aquahot switch is 2 position and down is on just like yours. Your electric heater switch is also on. That means that the burner and the electric heating element will come on to bring the water up to temperature. It that what you want?
  16. I shot this picture while they were changing the tires. It seems that there is no retarder. Is this correct?
  17. I have read about the retarder and assumed that it was something bolted onto the transmission. I would like to see pictures of what it looks like.
  18. I read that there was a retarder, but I don't know how to confirm that it is there. What does it look like? I have looked at the exhaust manifold and I don't see anything that looks like an exhaust brake, there is no actuator that I can see.
  19. I could be off by 1 inch on the wheelbase. There are a few differences between my 2002 and the 2000 that I can see from the brochure. My engine has a Jake break and not an exhaust brake. There is a switch to have the Jake break operate on 3 valves or on 6 valves. That changes the breaking force. I believe that it also has a transmission retarder.
  20. I noticed that the brochure for 2002 only goes up to 42' in the specifications table. I went out and measured from the front axle to the tag axle and got 28' 6" or 342".   23. When it is cold, you could pressurize it with air the way the manual describes for bleeding the air out. If you had a leak, this would force liquid coolant out the exhaust pipe. Or, you could pull the burner out and look in the firebox, a leak should be evident. Otherwise, it does not sound good.
  24. On my AquaHot AHE-100-01S there is a fuse for the preheat pump. In the picture, there is a fuse block just below the connection block in the upper right corner. The fuse for the preheat pump is the left most fuse. Each pump has a fuse in the fuse block.
