  1. I found my problem however I still need advice. Previous owner installed flat 4 to the existing harness OEM and the running lights were not attached. Please see photos. I have 2 questions and welcome any other info you can provide. 1: Is it possible to get a new 7 pin harness that would fit just like the one does in the photo? 2. Are any of the seven wires hot all of the time when the ignition is running? I am asking because I'm looking for a hot 12 vt to run the toad to operate my breaking system compressor with out using 12 vt from the car. TIA, Doug
  2. Now I am dazed and confused,LOL. After scraping off the black substance fairly easily, it is paint underneath and I am not sure it is urethane there above the gasket where I am working. The window appears to be "Floating" in the gasket. As per the manual, there are 3 choices highlighted that are recommended, silicone, urethane and acrylic-please see the manual picture and I appreciate any thoughts. IMG_3751.HEIC
  3. Tom, Would I need a primer with the 3M #540? A friend recommended the following because you don't need to prime: Sealant Windshield Urethane Glue Sikaflex P2G Primerless Adhesive Thank you!
  4. No leaks that I know of from my windshield in my new to me Safari Simba 07, however, I would like to scrap off whatever is there and reseal around the top of the windshield. The manual says use black silicone sealant for small areas or imperfections around the windshield and black urethane for windshield installation. Not sure which to use and how to remove whatever is there. Appreciate your wisdom, TIA!
  5. Got it opened with some dawn dish detergent in a squirt bottle.
  6. Looking for some help with an electrical issue. My new to me 07 safari Simba tail lights do not work on my toad, all lights on coach work as they should . Turn signals and brakes work. I tested the connection on the coach flat 4 plug, the tail light is the issue. I looked in the chassis fuse panel , but nothing is labeled for the wiring harness that I can tell. The wiring harness on the coach at the trailer hitch is factory installed. Also, I cleaned all the connections on the flat 4 but didn't use dielectric grease. Any ideas or pointers on what fuses to check or what to try next would be appreciated. TIA
  7. Our new to us 2007 Safari Simba has an emergency exit window in the bedroom that is stuck closed. We tried using a thin board and hammer to nudge it open along the frame edge with no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  8. Should I push it straight inward or to inward to one side? I'm not sure what it is or how it goes back together. Thanks!
  9. 07 Simba, new to me, just discovered something, perhaps a clip, protruding from the seam in the windshield. Wondering what may have caused this and if I have a real problem starting or if I should just caulk it with black windshield caulk to keep moisture out. Also, my rig has been kept indoors since 07, and we will have to leave it out starting April. Is it a good idea to keep it covered, with ventilation when not in use to protect from the sun? We are in PA. Appreciate your wisdom.
  10. I'm still wondering on my fiberglass roof when doing the seams for the front and rear caps, if decor should be put down first to seal, then Eternabond on top of it as a flashing and then dicor on that? So a three step process? I watched AZexpert as recommended, and he said Eternabond is a flashing not a sealant, which now makes me fell like I need a sealant down first. Appreciate everyone's wisdom and willingness to help!
  11. Martinvz- Thank you for the detailed answer. Would like to PM you, but not sure how to on this site? Appreciate your help!
  12. Newbies to RVing. My wife and I just purchased a 2007 Safari Simba and we are excited and a bit overwhelmed. Wanted to have the roof professionally done over for our first time, however not been able to find a shop to do it this time of year. Worried that water will breach, so we are going to tackle it ourselves. It has always been stored indoors. We welcome any advice! We have a few questions about what products to use to seal the long seams between caps and the roof. The manual recommends UVR Elastiseal which I believe is no longer made. It looks like a black tar substance on the seam "tape" where it is curling up. Does the black substance need to be completely removed before putting down a new seam tape? What seam tape or product is recommended? What kind of sealant is underneath the seam tape and does that need to be scraped out and replaced? There is a black substance around the skylight and vent, should they be repaired in the same manner as the seams? We are located in Pennsylvania and will have a storage unit for the month of January. We’re hoping to be able to get the work done at the beginning of January so it has time to cure before we bring it home where it will be stored outside with a cover. We really appreciate any input. Thank you!
