Diesel storage in steel barrel while doing tank repair

Recommended Posts

I purchased two food grade steel barrels to store diesel in while I have my tank repaired from a 96 Monaco Windsor. It has leakage from a weld failure.

the barrels look nice and clean. Can I pump diesel directly into bro then with transfer pump or do I need a liner?

I don't want to foul my 100 gals of diesel. Naturally I had a 3/4 tank when I discovered leak.

I am not sure what you would line it with? Common plastic sheet may react with the diesel. I would use very strong degreaser, wash them out, let dry a few days then put you fuel in them. Just a thought.
