Agpopp
With all the room they had, they really made to difficult to add oil. I did a lube, oil, filter and was worried for a minute I wouldn't be able to get oil back in this hog. Luckily had a piece of 5/8 rad hose and it fit my funnel perfectly.
Jim McGarvie
I've always added oil through the oil cap on top of the valve cover. Much easier, in my opinion.
96 EVO
I bought one of those 5gal pail lids with hand pump. No chance of making a mess! Two beers worth of pumping, and I'm done!
Rick A
I fill from the bedroom engine hatch which is directly over the oil filler. Just prepare and use the right funnel and have a helper hold it in place. Just be diligent and careful!
LakeBob
I keep one of these onboard, very useful and they work amazingly well for the cost. https://www.harborfreight.com/battery-operated-liquid-transfer-pump-63847.html
cbr046
This funnel screws into the top valve cover for a solid mount and makes it much easier to pour from the bedroom hatch. No holding helper necessary. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P0VTC8/ - bob
Agpopp
Thanks for the replies gentlemen! For me though, I think the free piece of heater hose and funnel I own still beat buying more stuff or dragging 4 gallons of oil into the bedroom. scottknight
Hello My 05 Knight rear oil fill tube can be pulled out about 8 inches, I discovered the tube slides out and I tether the funnel to the ladder . The 5 gallon oil pail is just enough to handle for me on a short step ladder. My oil fill is 6 gallon (8.3).
