  1. Good morning everyone.  For clarity, I have added a new category for A/C, heat pumps, and Aqua Hot systems.

I moved a few conversations from other categories to the new category.

Why I didn’t set this up in the first place... we’ll never know.  😂

    Paul,

I have access to a wrecked '05 HR Imperial that I believe had that toilet. The porcelain bowl was broken so I didn't pay much attention to the toilet; everything in the head was intact except the bowl.  I'll be back down that way before the gathering and will try to gather what you need.  A picture of the needed part would be super helpful...  If it's still there, I'll bring it to the gathering for you.

Thanks Scotty (or other moderator) for making the change to my Username.

    Paul

I'd love to take credit but it wasn't me...  It can be changed every 30 days, but apparently joining also counts as changing your name. 🤷‍♂️

  4. Thanks for the heads-up.  This problem is rare, but when it happens its very aggravating...

Could I ask a favor?  If this has happened to you, even once, send me a private message with:

    - The email account where you received the duplicate messages

    - Message Topic (or Topics)

    - Date and time that was stamped on the email.

That will help me work with the programmers to troubleshoot the issue.

    Thanks,

    Scotty

  5. I was hoping to be able to set this differently by Forum (i.e., you can edit classified ads forever, but not motorhome discussions... etc.), but this is a system setting that affects everything.

I have removed the time restriction for editing; I don't think it practical to have to involve a moderator to edit posts... especially classified ads.

I don't *think* this will be an issue, but if it is we'll change it later...

If you look at the Leaderboard you will see the total number of folks that liked your posts over about the past month.  Basically the total number of "likes"  for ALL your posts ever made translates into a community reputation rating.  I'm sure Scotty will jump in and correct me if I'm wrong.

That is correct. It is a default function of the software, but something we don't really use.  There is an option to group users into groups based on their reputation rating (Users, SuperUsers, etc.) and give people varying privileges based on those groups.  For example, we could create a certain threshold that would allow members who passed that threshold to not have edit restrictions, or have special privileges.   It's something we may consider in the future, but isn't critical right now.

  7. Paul,

I don’t see any reason to require physical address - that was just the default setting for the site.  I’ll look at it tonight and see how to change it.

We don’t use the street address for anything. If, at some point in the future we use the eCommerce functionality of the site we may need it, but not for now.

also, as Richard mentions we ask everyone to include city and state in their signature, but that’s hard to police.

  8. Need your paint codes?  I've been told they are on the driver's seat pedestal.  See pic below of a member's paint codes from his 2006 Diplomat.

I needed the codes for my rig, as a sign post jumped out into the side of my rig.  Looked under the seat and bah!!  Someone had pulled the sticker off.

After a little research I found that the paint codes can still be obtained from REV by requesting a coach data sheet (See below).  My paint guy checked the codes this past week and TADA!! they are correct!  Althought much of the old Monaco information is gone, I *believe* REV still provides data sheets for older coaches.  If someone has newer info, please post.

  9. Hmmm...  that bears some thought.  Probably not best.  Let me talk with the other moderators and reply.

Probably the *best* thing would be for the person who posted to edit the post as “sold” or delete it.  I’ve been leaving them up as “sold” for people to see examples, but long term we won’t do that n

  10. Gary,

Richards suggestion is perfect for searching the new site.  I'm still working on making the Yahoo database available.

If you'll shoot an email to scott (at) monacoers.org, I'll search the database and see what comes up and email it to you.

  11. I've heard from several folks over the past couple of years that one of Bill D 's big recommendations for getting rid of electrical gremlins was to clean all of the connectors and grounds on your coach.

Sooo... what's the best way to clean?  Spray contact cleaner? Solvent?  Wire brush?  Different for different connections?

Do you put anything on them to keep them clean and healthy?  What?

    Thanks,

    Scotty

  12. Chad,

There are a lot of great options out there at really reasonable price points.  I purchased this about a year ago:

AUKEY Dash Cam, 1080P Dashboard Camera Recorder, 6-Lane 170 Degree Wide Angle Lens, Supercapacitor, G-Sensor and Clear Nighttime Recording https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072FGL63X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_SjHdEbQAER70Y

After seeing Craig French’s video at the Gathering last year of him being hit by a car changing lanes on the way to the Gathering!  His video made it an open-and-shut case with the State trooper.

I also purchased a 64GB memory card.  I have been extremely pleased with this unit.  Technology changes, so there’s probably something better out there, but that’s my experience!

I just posted a question on fresh water and I noticed that when you go to start a new topic it doesn't direct you to the subtitle or section you want to post the topic in.  Am I doing something wrong. How do you post in the appropriate area for the topic?

    Joel,

    Couple of things...

    1. I moved the post to the “Water Systems” section (in case you’re looking for it.

    2. When posting a new topic, go to “Home” use the “Start New Topic” button or link towards the topic of the topic listing.  When you do that, you should get a drop-down to select which forum to post it in.

    3. If you are in a forum viewing topics or posts and use the “Start New Post” link, the site assumes you want to add a topic in that forum. If that happens, let us know and a moderator can move it to the correct forum.

    Hope that helps,

    Scotty

.Does anyone know if the rewiring will be a snap or a pain?  I still have the stock Magnum inverter.  PO passed away before we purchased so I was never able to ask him any questions.   Pic is best I have of the current setup.

    Steven,

Here is a pic of my 4-6v battery setup. Shouldn’t be too hard.B0130125-0FFA-45EF-A18D-8B1F44CFF5D0.thumb.jpeg.1f70db090ec0557bf4d4474c4cc84fbf.jpeg
