  1. We replaced our Sony with a Sony with BT from crutchfield. They were great with tech support and the cool thing was that the remote in BR plugged into the back of the dash stereo. The BT is awesome bc we use our cell phones for GPS and to play stored music. GPS turn alerts come through speakers so we have no problem hearing directions!
  2. We replaced ours a couple of years ago with an aluminum one because it leaked and caused our alternator to malfunction from dripping.
  3. In our situation, we were getting the brown streaks down the outside of the electric control cabinet in the rear of the RV. We later realized that the rear AC of our 02 Windsor was VERY loose. We had changed it out and probably should have double checked that it was seated snuggly. Hindsight is always 20-20! Since tightening the four mounting bolts inside over bed, we hav not had the problem since.
  4. If the batteries have depleted so low that your charger can not bring them back, Battery warehouse will charge them for you for a nominal charge.
  5. Our covers were held on with SS screws. Are you saying that they were originally held with rivets? We took our slidelocks off of the front slide bc the one one on the rear side of slide got hung up in the frame and bent. We are looking to put the lock back on (have realigned the slide) and have misplaced the strike plate that causes the lock to activate. Any ideas where to get replacement?
  6. We had our steps stop working . We have had to take the arm that pulls them in and out off and bungee them in for travel. Hubby took the motor apart and found the nylon gear had teeth missing. Researching he found that an electric window gear was a replacement. With the gear replaced - we are right as rain!
  7. Installed the air intake today. We ended up cutting the 10' in half. It is on but it was a booger to get on the flange of the air filter and upper as well. The diameter is 7"OD and the flanges are 7 ID. The aluminum is quite thin and wanted to rip in the coils. As a reinforcement at both ends we reinforced with gorilla glue duck tape (that is some strong stuff).
  8. Ken, thanks for the info.jacwjames sent me a copy. I am going to mount it in the coach as you have suggested.
  9. We have not installed yet but we are planning to cut it in half. I think that we could third it but do want to impinge the hinges. We are planning to reuse the clamps that are currently in use.
  10. I agree that 150# might be overkill but that is what was on the other side. HINDSIGHT! We ordered 2, a pair and a spare idea, but ended up using the second on the bed- way overkill! Bothe areas had been used for years with only one prop!
  11. This is what we bought as a replacement for the missing strut that had also had a broken stud bc of rubbing against the air filter vent pipe. We are replacing all three. Sharon 2002 Windsor
  12. Willbo777, good info, can you give more info/pics about the location of check valve? We have 2002 windsor
  13. I have often wondered if our coach could be retrofitted with a power reel. We have the box you speak of and our is very accessible since a previous owner changed the carpet. Does anyone know if this is possible since we do not have any exterior access and I am not fond of cutting a hole in the body?
  14. Don't know if this relates to your problem since the resolution to ours was to tighten the pump. We were having the frensh water tank fill even though the valve was set to city. Thinking it was the city/tank valve that had gone bad we were waiting to get home to do the repair. In talking to a camp neighbor and looking at our system we realized that housing plate covering the impeller was leaking. It was hard to see since it is mounted toward the center of the coach. We tightened the set of 5/6 screws and all is good.
  15. Saw your post on IRV2 from a couple of years ago and noticed that we both have Verde (which is uncommon and we have gotten many compliments on) and I tried to contact you through the thread. They said bc the thread is so old that I couldn't post to it. Could you possibly give me your color codes. I would very much appreciate it! Sharon
  16. We did not get the binder only a manual that is about 1.25" thick. We are the third ? owners and I believe tha the last owner just bought it to flip it. It had been abused.
  17. Good to know, I have seen the sticker back there but didn't pay too much attention to the content.. thanks for the info.
  18. Silly question, where do I locate the BASF paint codes for our coach- '02 windsor?
  19. In our 2002 Windsor we got tired of knocking our noggin on the cabnet and the wasted space around the flatscreen TV. We bought the coach with a modification for a flat screen. It was mounted inside of the cabinet with cloth covered luan plywood for a finish on the outside. The TV was mounted on a 2x4 which had been mounted inside the cabinet We remover the box by unattaching all electrical connections that were mounted to it and took it out for the modification. It was attached to the cabinets on either side and attached with plumbers mounting straps to the ceiling. Then the face of the box needs to be removed and resized to the new specs The top is where we made the cut. We cut about 6" off leaving the cabinet still about 4" below the cabinets on either side. We chose that resize for the maximum sized flatscreen to fit. Cutting it off at the top, we were worried that the ceiling would look terrible because of the divots from the old position. After cutting the box down and reinstalling we were pleasantly surprised that the new position was only about an inch from original. Since we mounted the TV (32") on the outside of the cabinet you do not even notice the old marks. With the TV outside the box mounted on an articulating arm, we can pull it out to access the rear of the TV for cables and USB ports and such. The 2x4 we repositioned to the place that would accommodate the larger TV. Also we get better sound since it is not muffled inside the box. Full disclosure, with the articulating arm the TV drifts while we are driving so we presently use a bungee to keep it stationary while traveling. Looking for a better fix for securing.
  20. I am not sure which side of the bed you originally lost, but in our coach the circuit goes from the rear side of dresser to the rear TV to the rear side of bed then to the forward side of bed. When I was tracking down the problem when the bedside outlet was out I realized that it got power from the other side of bed. I took both outlets apart to check what might be the source of the problem. My guess was the wonky outlets! Why would they put something that requires wires to remain stationary without being secured rather in a vehicle which is subject to twists and jarring all of the time, is beyond me! Keeping in touch sounds since our biggest headache with the coach is the electrical system. We love our coach and wouldn't trade it for newer. We just returned from a three month journey to CA from our home in PA. While on our trip, we realized the alternator was not charging the house batteries while we are in transit. Not a real big deal but then we had the brand new inverter (xantrex sw 3000) go into "rectifying mode", so the house batteries ,even when plugged into shore power was not going to float charge. We called Zantrex and they very patiently talked us through some troubleshooting. They instructed us to reboot the system through the remote panel. Thank goodness that resolved the issue of not going to full charge. We have not yet figured out why the alternator is not charging the house batteries, it keeps the chassis battery charged just fine.
  21. Piercelarry69, glad you found the culprit! I have had the outlet on the frontside of the bed go out also. For some reason it came back on line. I took it apart and pushed the wires into the outlet farther- not sure that had a bearing. I have not replaced that outlet with the screw type outlet YET. Not looking forward to trying to enlarge the outlet hole up under the cabinet though I may try to figure a way to put the outlet on the wall instead, I was inspired by your tenacity, I was able to fish another wire from the outlet in the cargo bay to the outlet in the bathroom via the ductwork cutouts for the furnace. It was surprisingly simple. I believe that your outlet that you had to change- if on the forward side of the bed, is the last on the circuit. The one I replaced is the last one from the other end. Sharon
  22. I don't know if this is relevant or not but our front slide Had no power to retract. My nephew who was replacing the floor and slide seals for us went into the front panel where the slide switch is and 'borrowed" the power from the water pump switch beside it. That solved the problem. My question, totally irrevelent : why is there even a switch for the water pump in there when there is not in the bathroom of our 2002 Monaco Windsor 40' PWD. Another side note: replacing the seals would not have solved our water leak around seals. We had to adjust the slide in the hole to accomplish a water tight sealing. This was the 2nd floor replacement from original because of water damage- the seals never had aligned. Now the swoosh design doesn't align BUT WE HAVE NO LEAKS WHEN IT RAINS WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD!
  23. I just got 2 copies of the same digest this am 6:19am and 7:23am
  24. Piercelarry69, I realized that the outlet where the air conditioner was should be where I start troubleshooting- the outlet on the side of the dresser, facing the washer. When I opened it I tested for power and realized I had power to that outlet but not to the TV- next in the daisy chain. Then I tested another wire between the two outlets and had power and the outlets on either side of the bed. Then the problem was figuring how too run the wire to connect the two. I was able to fish the wire behind the paneling in the washer cabinet. As I said I took this opportunity to change the outlets- a detail tool work like a champ to facilitate the the installation of the low profile outlet box. After that project was complete, I proceeded to test the other outlets on the circuit. From the bathroom, the cellar is the next in tha line. I change the outlet in the bathroom to one that has screwtype connections and connected the cargo bay into it like the previous wiring. When I turned the breaker back on I immediately knew that the wire between the bathroom and the pavement would have to be replaced, I am still trying to figure that one out. Running new wires though the existing harnessing is impossible. I beleive the problem was caused from putting to much on the circuit. The frying pan and the AC was drawing too much juice.
  25. We also are experiencing the proble of the house batteries not charging while going down the road. Many post mention the bird and the big boy, I have not seen or read any mention of these with our 2002 Windsor. Where would we look to find if we have them? Some mentioned the switch on the dash that connects the 2 sets of batteries (house and chassis), might kick start the alternator to start charging the house batteries but I tried that and it didn't seem to work.
