  1. Now this is info that I have been hunting for for quite a while. since our generator has been drifting out for a while! Thanks to all for the input. That will be added to our EXTENSIVE todo list!
  2. That would be us. Oh, the stories I could tell! Take a THICK WALLET! What an adventure- a bucket list thing! We spent a month in Alaska. The highlights of the trip were the plane tour over Denali and landing on Ruth’s Glacier! Also the boat excursion from Seward. We saw 3 different species of whales, two glaciers that were calving, and many many species of birds and otters and seals! We opted to explore the Artic Circle and chose to drive ourselves in our 2000 Toyota Echo. Since it was a nice day we had no problem, unless you want to include the windshield chips from passing vehicles. The real damage to the Echo was on the trip across th Alcan Highway. We sustained chips and I rode over a rock about 5” in diameter and took out the exhaust, not thinking of the ground clearance of the Echo, I only figured the RV (silly me)! We chose to take the Echo for this journey knowing that the trip would be harsh on it because we figured that the vehicle was reaching the end of it’s life. It was LOUD after the exhaust debacle but it never let us down! We had already bought a replacement vehicle (2013 Honda Fit).before we left. We also opted to leave the state via Chicken, AK and Dawson City, YT. That route included about 120 miles of dirt roads. And there was more dirt roads due to construction in Yukon Terr. Our repair list is extensive but I suspect that the parts failures may be due to both vibration and age, since our rig is almost 22 years old, but it was soo worth it! We also experienced our first “breakdown”. It turned out to be the cutoff switch for the chasis battery.Once diagnosed, it was an easy fix! Go for it! Sharon PM me if you would like more of the details
  3. We were able to get our front slide in but to put it back out it is bound against the front frame and is hanging up. I was planning on trying to put it out while pushing the slide out and to the rear at the same time…will this cause more problems? We discontinued using the slide for fear of having problems while we were away. Now that we are home after a 4.5 month Alaska trip, we have ordered most of the parts for repair- house cutoff switch, kwikee step motor. While away we had to replace the coach battery and kitchen faucet and 5 chips on the windshield repaired. We have to configure a end bracket for windshield driver shade, replace heater blower motor, repair ladder mounts, reattach bedroom slide gear( somebody tried to put slide in while the engine was running, me), replace hot water element, reglue kitchen cabinet door. That is just the big stuff! But the trip was so worth it!! Sharon
  4. During our trip to Alaska, we experienced our first break down. We lost everything in the dash and the engine just died. After sitting on the side of the road for six hours we determined that it was the cut off switch to the chassis battery. We connected the 2 cables together, eliminating the switch and bought a new cut off switch which required us to modify the panel in our 2002 Monaco Windsor. Unwilling to do that modification. We are waiting until we get home to find a replacement that is configured the same as the OEM. Any suggestions as to where to get a good replacement that connects on the outside of the panel in the right rear electrical door?
  5. Thank you to everyone for your input. We have size 295/80R22.5 also. In speaking with the shop, the tires were manufactured 3622. Since we are at a disadvantage because we are in a crunch as we are leaving the area this coming Monday and our home base is in Pennsylvania, we are opting to go with the tires…bird in the hand! Usually we shop around for the best price but, at this moment my main concern is safety! We live within an hour of where the fatal crash occurred on I-81. And a blowout has always been my biggest fear! Many many thanks! Sharon
  6. We are in Washington and have unusual wear on the right drive tire. My greatest fear is a drive tire blowout, enhanced by the tradegy recently on I-81. Have 2 Toyo tires scheduled to be installed for about $1500 tomorrow at Les Schwab in Anacortes, WA. What is the oldest acceptable manufacture date?
  7. Jim, You had me with hood lock! I think your idea just might be replicated in our green 2002 Windsor. Since I am head of “procurement and resources” 😃, I needed to understand because “development and production” (Ed) has to have everything he needs. Sometimes there arises issues when HR needs to get involved(and since I am resources) it ends quickly 😂🤣😂! Love the ideas that you geniuses come up with! Thanks for sharing Sharon
  8. Martin, we installed the Hisense 17.2 but like Samsung installs, we had to lower the furnace and “floor” for the refrigerator. Went well until it hung up on the ceiling light! Got the Drexel out and replaced the light cover with flat plexiglass- problem solved! We also went hi-tech with securing the doors as you did!😂 We had used the bungee approach and already had the bracket installed from use when, 2 days into a 4 month journey, the Norcold crapped out. Plan B was a 7 cu dorm refrigerator, which considering, worked well! Jim, I like your idea to secure the doors. Can you point me in the direction of the specific parts needed. “The push button hood lock.” Where do you store the “lock” when parked?
  9. I installed a 5th one in that room so if you were using the toilet you didn't have to get up and use the switch at the vanity in the hallway Not having a switch in the toilet area is stupid! We have contended with this in our 2002 and each time I shake my head at the absurdity of Monaco’s choice of location- in the control panel at the passenger seat!! I am assuming that you jumped the switch on the vanity in the bedroom? I would very much like to do that also! Thanks for the tips…as always!
  10. Our awning (slide topper) was coming out of the body bracket too, the core was not damaged. The fabric was still strong but they used the wrong thread to sew the seams. We took the awning off of theRV and I sewed it while it was on the roll, and any other seam while it was down using Sunguard UVA polyester upholstery thread. That was 7 years ago…still going strong! While we were going across country we caught a cross wind near Amarillo TX and the front slide cover started billlowing and that awning came out of the tract too. At the next campground we had to take that one off and sew it too! That took a little thought bc with just the two of us and one ladder we had to get creative bc of the length. The CG table was invaluable to the job. For me, having a sewing machine on board is a life saver! Sharon
  11. Thank you to all for your help. I have located the wires where they are connected with crimp connections. There is no harness connector. We have not successfully used the keypad so we are going to disconnect the wires.
  12. I have taken the inside panel for the entry door off to adjust the rods inside because opening is sometimes persnickety. I have not gone any farther yet, because of having to plant the garden to prepare for the apocalypse 🤣🤣. In the intervening time we have developed a beeping from the keypad. Tried to find the fuse to remove it but was unsuccessful. Found a fuse for the bay locks but that didn’t silence the beeping.have studied the electrical schematics to no avail. I searched the files for a similar topic and did not find anything. Since this is my go to for solutions, I am asking for your help again! I have attached some of the diagrams that I found in our book- I think that our coach is possessed by the electrical demons! Thank you for any info! Sharon Oh BTW Ed says that it is the 5 key that blinks when it beeps.
  13. Last year, our rear AC was not blowing cold. Took the cover off and found a HUGE robin’s nest complete with 2 eggs that, I assume, we had carried with us from PA. We were in Montana.
  14. Bill, this is the antenna that we purchased. Our Mofi has SMA connectors.
  15. We have been using the Mofi 4500 for about 2 years. Since we “pipe in sunshine” at home we installed large yogi antennas to get internet and after many trials…and errors, we currently have a Cricket data plan with 100G per month ($55). It is serving our purpose. While we travelled we almost ALWAYS had better signal then here at home. A few times we had to use the Omni directional antenna that we mounted on a telescoping flag pole to increase our signal but mostly we just the paddles that come with the Mofi router. Sharon
  16. I will escort you, pm me. I live on the MD pa line
  17. We have had our 02 Windsor for 10 years. When we purchased it, we got a key fob in a baggie- it had been crushed. We have just used the key. We are old school and only have one of our 5 vehicles which have a fob. But I was wondering if there is a place to replace the fob or fob/keypad.
  18. I wholeheartedly agree with Bob! The subject might not apply to me so I may or may not peruse the discussion. If these discussions were compartmentalized, I might miss something that would be very beneficial to me! Our Windsor may have a similar problem as another Cheetah. And together the membership offers possibilities for ALL of the different models. This is what makes this site so great! That being said, I do believe that I would give the app a try, The question is the functionality compared to the website. For a quick read of the daily newsletter- cool! Will it then link to the complete discussion just as the daily email does? KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GENTLEMEN and thank you for your work!!!
  19. On our 02 Windsor it was the upper screw that functions as the “hinge”, or pivot point that had bent. Straightened that and handle gently and we are good! On another note, Has anyone been able to find a replacement sweep gasket for the bottom of the shower door? From the time that ours was misaligned it wore/ripped the gasket. I have not been able to find a replacement
  20. The venting-vents the microwave and the range hood, correct? That sounds like a grand idea! We are constantly setting off the smoke detector in the kitchen with the least of our cooking!
  21. In our 02 Windsor the seat bottom and face of back and parts of the arm are leather and the balance is vinyl. As an upholsterer, i can vouch that some or at least ours are a mix of the two.
  22. Gary, Thanks anyway. I googled it and it said to access the switch by carefully removing the gasket and remove the switch and jump the brown/red wire with the black wire. I think will whine about it until it really becomes a problem. Now I have an idea when we decide to tackle it, Sharon
