  1. I bet one of those devices would come in very handy if you were flushing the black tank with the outlet closed, and got distracted and forgot to turn off the water. Just sayin'
  2. Gorgeous coach!! We had an identical '06 Endeavor, loved it and got LOTS of compliments on the unique color scheme. Hope it sells fast for you!
  3. Someone had a Winegard G2 (or maybe it was a G2+ or G3) for sale at last month's Lazy Days Gathering. I thought about getting it for a spare, but didn't pull the trigger because I already had a G2+ that was working. Naturally, mine just quit just the other day, and I now need a replacement. I know it's a longshot, but does anyone remember who it was? Or are they reading this now?
  4. A very well-deserved award and recognition for Dave (and others behind the scene, like Scotty?) who tirelessly puts this on every year. A big THANKS! to you
  5. Not to contradict you, Bob, as it's been awhile since I did mine, but I think Xylene was one of those I should have tested first 😬 . IIRC, it did work well, but dulled the paint a bit.
  6. Wife and I did our '06 Endeavor, and it took about 60+ hours to remove it all. I tried just about every product/method that was mentioned in all of these forums, the best I found was using a wallpaper steamer, plastic razor blades, and Quik-N-Easy solvent (or something like that). Not a very difficult job, just long and tedious. And your fingers will wish you'd paid a neighbor kid to do it for you. For whatever reason, the stuff was already off the right side and middle of our '08 Camelot when we got it. Remembering back, I opted to let the detail people at LazyDays Tampa finish the job for me. Took them almost no time flat to do it, but they wouldn't tell me their 'secret ingredient'. If you do it yourself, just be careful as some of the suggestions will actually damage the paint/finish (I know this now). Like they say: "test on an inconspicuous spot first". Oh, and take some photos, it's very satisfying to look back on your before-and-after work.
  7. Ok, thanks Dave. Looking forward to the Event. And I definitely appreciate all the hard work that goes into putting on something like this!
  8. Last year, I missed out on getting my coach weighed. Will the opportunity be available this year? I think Bill Grove (is that right?) was in charge of it.
  9. Congrats! All you needed to do, Joe, was to keep throwing more money at the (or any) problem!
  10. Thanks for asking that, Mike. I was wondering the same thing, and if it would be appropriate to suggest it. Here's hoping it all works out! Last year, I started out on the trip with a very bad sinus infection and almost totally-plugged ears (and missed hearing a lot, even sitting in the front row), but we still went and it was pretty-much the highlight of my year. Oops, I just realized you could take one of two ways - that the Gathering was either that good (...which it definitely was!) or that my life is that boring (...uhh, no comment). So, come on people. SIGN UP * ! The things you'll learn from the fabulous presenters and the fun you'll have visiting with similar-minded folks can only be had at The 2020 Monacoers Gathering! * Besides, what else are you going to do in the middle of February? This is Florida, baby!
  11. Hey Joe - I was retracing some of our troubleshooting steps, and I just noticed there's an LED on the VIP board itself. DUH!! Dunno why I never noticed it before, except maybe because of the contorted positions I had to get in to access the board in the first place. Anyways, whenever ignition is in RUN or ACC, the LED is green, and while any SmartWheel button is being pressed it goes to yellow. Does that help you any? I don't think I saw you mention it above (or in the VIP troubleshooting guide). HTH
  12. Hi Richard - I'd probably have to get more schooling on the nuances to be able to sort everything out on something like that. I've always let 'the kids' flesh out the details on that kind of stuff for me. Took me forever to move into a smartphone, but even then I pretty much use it as a simple Halo Statue (you know, the kind where it rings and you say: "Halo? Statue?"). I did install exterior wireless cameras for the new house but haven't got the internet interface to work 🤨 yet, so am reluctant to just jump into trying it for the rv . Ah, I can answer the question about the SensorPush! Yes, you do need a gateway (like the mifi) to monitor more than ~100 yards (usually a lot less) from the sensor itself, but as long there's wireless access at both ends, I'm good anywhere. They have good customer service too. (No affiliation with them, btw, just a cool product).
  13. Several years ago, the ‘Salesman Switch’ failed while we were away. Fortunately, we returned before it got too hot inside for the dog with the AC units being off for several hours (since I now had no 12vdc for the AC thermostat). I immediately started asking around and finally came across the ‘SensorPush’ system which, in conjunction with our mifi, provides a way to stay connected and remotely monitor the interior temperature/humidity. It works as expected, but I’d like to know more and be able to see what’s going-on when we’re not there (you could read that as: Does she have enough water? Is she chewing up the carpet again? Is she jumping on the furniture? LOL) Without getting too complicated or expensive, any suggestions for something that can do this? My wife’s grandkids moved away, so I can't ask them how to do it now 😎
  14. Have you completely ruled-out the headlite switch itself? I know you said other lites are working, but the switch sure seems like a common denominator there. And is a lot less-expensive than a Control Box if you decide to 'easter-egg' parts to narrow it down.
  15. Following this thread with great interest to see what you eventually uncover. Your troubleshooting path has been a lot like mine with a similar but different issue - I have headlites, et al, but I don't have the ability to flash them from that headlite button on the SmartWheel. (I've seen it referred-to by the name of 'ICC Flash' and is useful to momentarily blink the lites to tell the driver passing you that it's OK to pull back over). I've about convinced myself that my problem is in the controller, be curious what you decide on yours. Wish I had more suggestions, but the guys have been doing a great job looking over your shoulder and holding the droplite for you. Here's hoping you find that Holy Grail soon, Joe
  16. Mine makes this high-pitched squawking noise a lot, unless I take her shopping (This is so gonna hurt if she sees it, but I couldn't resist). Seriously tho, in the last 2 houses I bought, both dishwashers (the electric kind, that is) made similar noises. Take it apart and see if you can find a jammed gear/similar. Can you get a service manual ? On both of mine, the motor shafts had basically 'glued' themselves to the bearings/seals due to age/rust and disuse. I was able to soften one up but it still grinded and made noise. The other needed all new internals including pump housing (shoulda thrown it away).
  17. I finally (after MUCH searching) found the VIP control box on my ’08 Camelot stuck waaay to the front on the floor within the driver arm-rest panel, so you can’t even see it from that little access hatch. It was hidden behind the rest of the wire bundles with the orange air-line in front of it too, making it totally invisible even when you look in there with a little mirror. It was mounted with different heads on all 4 screws, making it even more fun to remove.
  18. After 4 (! 😠 !) failures of our Notcold 1200 in 2 years (first 3 were under warranty, the last was gonna be my $4,000!), we finally moved up to a 19cuft Samsung res for the '06 Endeavor PAQ we had at the time. I can't say how much of an improvement it was, there's no comparison. Cooldown in an hour, lots of cold ice, way more storage, and on and on. I understand the Amish/JC conversions are pretty much a plug-and-play, but be sure to look at the other options out there. Depending on your floorplan, a res-frig could be a real simple job or it could take some work to make it fit. Maybe even looking at different models to get it in. I never had an issue with the Samsung getting 'warm' at rest-stops or even overnite-boondocking, if you do a reasonable job of keeping the door closed. Mine happened to work well with the OEM MSW inverter too, but some don't like them. If you do a LOT of boondocking, more batteries might be needed. Consider that your Notcold technology is now 14+ years old, has less insulation and usable space, door seals can't be replaced, etc, etc. And don't forget the real issue of a possible fire (not a joke, check it out online) - the wood panel had turned to charcoal next the the flue on mine.
  19. Maybe a place for all of us (that want to, that is) to give a little 'biography' too?
  20. Wow, that brings back some memories! I worked at a high-end audio store in S Florida during high-school/junior-college. I happened to find a stray piece of packing-material stuck in the innards of a new Garrard Lab80 one day, so I became the turntable-fixer from then on. When they worked those automatic turntables were great, but when they went out of whack, it was a terror. The store had maintenance contracts with a lot of the people on Palm Beach, so we got to work on some over-the-top awesome stereo equipment. I remember going to one house where they were digging a 6' deep hole in the Great Room to install a granite pier on which to set the turntable (I think it was a Thorens) because they guy thought he was getting some stray vibration thru the floor. Some of the cars I saw during that time were also overwhelming, especially to a kid (not to mention the women too). Huh, guess I erased part of the above when I was correcting a typo. I worked on a 4-track tape player too (yup, but rare!), it was in an already-antique car at the time. I don't know what it was, but it was one of the open types with low swoopy doors - maybe like a Dusenberg. I was almost scared to touch it, much less get in it.
  21. Could be the sensor is aged-out, but maybe you have a dog (or cat)? Propane and methane are similar in molecular composition and the sensor doesn't differentiate between them. We changed our dog's food, and no more midnite alarms.
  22. I shoulda mentioned that the radio was definitely a replacement - I assume original at some time was the OEM Magnadyne as well. The PO has done so many things to the coach (some good, but most ...) that I've named it "The Easter Egg Hunt". Seems that every time I turn around, I find something new and exciting that's been done. My favorite is the genset slideout fiberglas nose-piece... Because it didn't fit well into the front cutout, he just attacked it what looked like a SawZall to make it fit.
  23. We had an '06 HR Endeavor PAQ (sistership) for 11 years, and loved it! The big atrium windows with the expansive views were mainly what sold us on it. Good luck in selling it!
