  1. I had the recall fix as well, but never felt safe. Unit was working when I trashed it for the RF18. Rich Cutler 06 Windsor
  2. My checks went to an RF18 Samsung. Love it. Actually is cold and gets cold almost as soon as we ready the coach fo a trip. Problem with the PF is you need a pure sine wave inverter whereas the existing modified works just fine. Im also looking for the last check so I can remove this from my tickler list. Wish it came as a one time lump, the outflow sure did. Rich Cutler 06 Windsor
  3. Last year I converted to a RF18 Samsung French door and we love it. The Nocold was still working but not worth the risk and not that cold. Kept the 2000 w modified inverter. I was concerned on my first boondock at Perry GA but there were no issues at all with battery life. Generated one hour per day and battery bank was never below 12v. We have 4 wet cell , 4 yr old in a 2006 Windsor. remember the RF18 is an inverter compressor and modified sine will not work with all brands. It is a good drop in for the 4 door Norcold replacement.
  4. Do they make a halogen or LED light replacement?
  5. When my Weldex was an issue they charged $400 for the monitor replacement. Never worked right, the next replacement had different issues. I changed to Rear View Safety at half the price for complete system. Tossed the Weldex. I did not get the one with the side cameras as I felt they were a distraction and rely on the mirrors as safer. I see their system is now std on many manufacturers mh. Good communication with their people also. Minor dash work for my coach. Rich Cutler 06' Windsor
  6. I purchased and installed the Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer. I used to have on my older Endeavor 1998, the Howard Power Centering which I loved but is no longer available. I had a front blowout on a Michelin with that system and it was like, other than the explosive bang, no effect at all. I managed to slowly pull off to the side under full control. Two rear tires on that set also later blew which is when the remaining were removed after an age of 4 years. I was convinced they had to be a defective batch. I had gotten to know parties within Michelin America, they did pick up the cost of the last three and 50% of the first three. I never exceed 65 and always monitor pressure and temperature. Back to Safe-T-Plus. Am I now foolish to rely on it for blowout control as it basically does what the Howard system did, less the adjustments while in use? Are there any reports out there on Safe-T-Plus in action and is it effective? Rich Cutler '06 Windsor
  7. For what it is worth, on my 2006 Windsor, it is a continuing issue. I think over time everyone of those plastic spools will break. Has anyone found a better spool that could be used, like metal or better plastic, that could be drilled or modified to use. The other issue with us is the fold if you are not careful. Does the MCD have this issue. Lastly, WindsorBill, do you recall the online store where you found the spools? Rich Cutler '06 Windsor
  8. For what it is worth, I just reused the cable by splicing, solder, new connections at both ends. I got rid of the Weldex piece of junk (very long story on issues and replacement screens ) and went with the Rear Safety ( I think that is what they call themselves). They are now pretty much standard equipment in a lot of new coaches. I did not go with side cameras as I found them to be distractions and not as good as mirrors. Rich Cutler '06 Windsor
  9. I saved Ernie Ekberg a good bit of time and removed most of mine by the washer and entry. I did not get under the rollers in some cases. Left that to Ernie the expert. I removed the carpet. Ernie did all the engineered wood installation. It looks great. I wanted to keep tile in the kitchen and bath, but definitely cover the front slide with wood. Rich Cutler '06 Windsor
  10. I have purchased a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse and will be dingy towing it behind my 2006 Windsor. The new Traverse is different than other vehicles I have towed (including the 2012 Enclave it replaces), and the owners manual is about as clear as mud when it comes to RV towing. I have contacted the dealership, and the service manager looked to determine what fuses must be pulled for towing because of the lack of clarity. Chevrolet has issued a service bulletin just to cover that question on confusion for dingy towing. That follows as a FYI. Involved Region or Country North America Condition A customer may inquire which fuse to remove when preparing the vehicle for dinghy towing. Cause The information printed in the Owner Manual is incorrect. Correction It is not necessary to remove any fuses when dinghy towing the vehicle.” My next question needing clarity on the manual was how do you place the transmission into the tow mode. The Service Manager was unable to help here and again the manual is as clear as mud. For those unfamiliar with the new 9 speed transmission, there is a button to push under the shifter boot cover. You peel that cover back and press the button. Simple...No. If anyone out there have the Traverse or similar transmission, what is the procedure? *Do you run the engine? or do it with the ignition off? *Do you do it in park? or are they assuming you are connected to the motorhome and will not roll? *Do you set the ignition in ACC or in off after pushing the transmission buttion? *Do you put the shifter in neutral? Lastly, how do you get it back out of tow mode? Help would be greatly appreciated. The Roadmaster base plate will be installed in a couple of weeks. Rich Cutler, '06 Windsor will be towing a 2020 Traverse FWD
  11. I have used the same brake master on two motorhomes and four vehicles. Easy to put into and out of vehicle and is proportional. Installation was done by myself every time. I reused the same parts except the seat bracket and wiring and air hose. Seat bracket different for the Jeep and Enclave (had two of these). I now have a 2020 Traverse I am about to move the Brake Master to and put the Road Master Base Plate on. Rich Cutler, 06' Windsor
  12. Mine was entirely intermittent. On and off end never knew when that would happen. 58000 miles on coach, finally had to change idler bearing due to squeal and had them look at alt at same time. Bad. Replaced both. Also, lost two of the bolts on the exhaust manifold. UGH expensive visit. Manifold was eaten by paths of exhaust gas. Explains noise back there. Now very quiet. 13. I would never have looked there. Thank you. I will pass that on to the tech that will be looking at it tuesday. Rich Cutler 06' Windsor
  14. I just had the exhaust manifold replaced on my Cummings 400 which also required the removal of the turbo. As a result the dash alarm horn is beeping but there are no lights on the dash. This is not the normal chirp. It is a loud beep. We cannot unplugged the dash annunciator alarm from behind the radio/AC panel to shut it down. Of course now we will not receive an audible of a warning light on the dash. Nothing can be found in the engine compartment which is thought to contribute to the now continuous horn anytime the ignition is on. Any thoughts? Forgot to state 2006 Windsor
