Not sure what mileage you get but at 7 mpg you used ~715 gallons and you say your saved $558 or $0.78.  That's pretty impressive.

I don't use the TSD card, I just shop for areas with lower prices.  Based on the posted prices at most of the larger truck stops I pass along the way I usually can save ~$0.60/gal sometimes more.

Last I checked my mpg was around 6.5. Of course road conditions, weather, and speed can impact it.

We did enjoy a 30-35mph tail wind from Santa Fe to Elk City OK. I think I got over 10mpg that day. I didn’t want to stop, but my body told me I had to.

As I said, if all you're interested in is how much of a 'discount' you received, great! You "saved" $558.08 over what you would have paid otherwise. Then again, if you had shopped and bought your fuel at stations that offered fuel for less, your 'savings' would have been greater. If I buy at Nordstroms and they give me a 5% 'discount' on a shirt when I could have purchased that same shirt somewhere else for half of what Nordstrom charged, did I really get a deal at Nordstroms? The point of my discussion and dissatisfaction with TSD is that the price they post in their app and the price they charge differ. If I'm in charge of the company and I want to get customers to go to Loves for instance, all I have to do is show a price cheaper than any of the other stations regardless of what I'm going to charge once you fuel up there. This is a dishonest practice.

I’m not sure that is accurate. I saw stations with low prices, but my TDS discount was close or better.

  3. We just completed a roughly 5,000 mile trip. I used the card at all fuel stops. Tallying up my saving resulted in a savings of $558.08. Plus there were a couple occasions where I was forced to fuel at stations offering very little discount.

  4. The DW and I just completed a 5,000 mile trip from Michigan to California and back almost without mishap. The coach ran very well and is still a pleasure to drive. The only issues were our step failed to retract after a Blue Beacon wash in Kingman AZ. I had them spray the undercarriage which must have loosened the step ground wire. I retightened it and all is well. We did have a check engine and transmission light along with engine derate just as we were about to enter an RV park in Camp Verde AZ in the rain. I believe it was caused by the trans fluid sensor, which i disconnected, cleaned, and applied dielectric grease. No further mishap occurred even as we drove in rainy conditions.

Monaco certainly made a good coach and we’re grateful to own one.

  5. I got under the coach just now. I found what appeared to be two sensor connectors and the large harness connector. I was able to disconnect the two sensors, spray with electrical cleaner and apply dielectric grease. I didn’t disconnect the harness as it looked good and a bit more complicated to disconnect. I sprayed cleaner and applied dielectric grease to the outside of it.

Hopefully this will get us home where I can do a more complete analysis. We have over 1500 miles to go. Hopefully I can avoid wet weather.

I'd check the plug, take it apart and inspect for moisture or signs of corrosion.  Use some electric cleaner on both sides and maybe a little dielectric grease the put it back together making sure it's tight.

Hi James, that makes sense to me. Thanks. Do you know where I’ll find the plug?

It's still a little cool up in Flagstaff isn't it? I'm still Quartzsite until Thursday then up to Chino Valley where it will still be cool.

Certainly cooler than Q, but no snow on the ground.

  7. Anybody experience this and know how to fix it?

Driving to Flagstaff this Tuesday in the rain, suddenly check trans and engine lights activate and trans won’t shift from 2nd gear. Luckily we were close to our RV park. I pulled in and shut down.

Did diagnostic scan. See attached. I concluded water shorted communication with the TCM and

ECM. The trans harness or sump temperature sensor was shorted by exposure to water off the roadway. I called Allison Flagstaff and tech confirmed my conclusion.
Would you recommend I get under coach and try to seal the harness and temp sensor to prevent water intrusion?

PS. A couple hours after shut down and parked, all problems disappeared  We drove 400 miles yesterday without incident in dry conditions.

  9. I’ve never winterized in six years of ownership. However when we’re in Michigan till late November, I’m on 50 amp service running my AH 600D on electric to keep house and basement warm.

I have the same knob on my basement pictured above. You need to make sure that knob is turned to heating and basement resister is offering heat (touch feel), whether your AQ is on electric or diesel.

I also use heat tape for water and sewer lines. I place a light bulb in outside refrigerator vent cover to protect my ice maker water line for the residential frig.

I have plastic welded a number of things successfully in the past, from plastic bumper covers, fan shrouds to small fuel tanks. Just get the correct rod for it and it should be worth a try, there's no pressure in the tank so should be doable. Not much of a risk in that situation. Otherwise even a generic overflow tank should work and they are/were cheap.

What product do you use?  J-B Weld?

Thanks. The conversion was done in 2018, your assumption is accurate, as it is supported by a dedicated line from the main 50 AMP panel. The only problem we’ve had was the Tru-Induction which went out after exactly one year; we replaced it with the Empana brand which has been problem free ever since.

Hey Ray, any chance you kept your old Amana cooktop. I need the right burner valve. It’s no longer available anywhere and I’d rather not mess with modifying the countertop, if I don’t have to.

  12. Thanks it does help. Thing is my cutout depth is 15.5” and that cooktop is only 14-1/8” wide. Did you make a modification to fill the gap?  According to the Amazon page.

We replaced our propane with electric in the same space. A new circuit had to be added otherwise it would share the same circuit as the microwave. We kept the propane tank and use it to run our outdoor bbq. Love it!IMG_2714.thumb.jpeg.6784bd7144621f4d5e09b096af3b1216.jpegIMG_2712.thumb.jpeg.d6d29efc2694bbdc011db14836ef2a40.jpeg

Hey Raymond, can you please tell me which model Empava you have and where you purchased it?  I suspect we have the same set in our 2008 Dynasty coaches. My original gas Amana cooktop just malfunctioned. I need to replace but can’t find a cooktop that will fit the cutout.

Video made me really happy about my slides and roof on my 2007 in comparison to that one.

I've watched a lot of his videos and he always scares me, think he's going to fall off the roof at any time.

Also I'm sure it has ac drains, they're probably clogged.

I thought the same thing about the drains. I’m surprised he didn’t check for them. Clogged AC drains is pretty common.
