  1. Yes they can. I replaced my tires and the bands were reinstalled. I would highly recommend though to also carry their emergence road kit and a pair of spare clamping bolts and removal socket (The new road kits include these) as you will most likely need this is you ever need to have a tire replaced while traveling. You won't be able to remove a tire with the Tyron Bands in place.
  2. Chris, I also received that story in my Facebook News feed. I read where they had a steer tire blowout but when looking at the photos after it was pulled out I noticed the right tire appeared to be somewhat in tact and still on the rim. If he really had a blowout I would have expected to see that tire pretty much shredded or ?. I could be very wrong but I'm kind of wondering what really went wrong there. I'm am also very thankful that Dave had Tyron bands installed in our Monaco and can ride with much less anxiety but still very much on my mind at all times. THANK YOU DAVE !!!
  3. Robert, I see on their web site that they also do Audio Video services. Have you had, or heard about how they do with any of that kind of work?
  4. Chris, You should be good between Abilene and Odessa, TX but it does get a little sparse further out. The attachments below are from my RV Trip Wizard. All of the icons are fuel locations (Pilot, Flying J, Loves, T/A). If you need any further detail let me know and I can send it to you directly plus I have some apps on my phone (yeah, I know ... gotta have one of those new fangled 'smart phones LOL ) I can tell you about, or load them on a tablet. Hope this helps.
  5. Hi Frank, I was going to Flagstaff so the wife can see the Grand Canyon then I was going to take her down to see the Saguaro National Park outside of Tucson. That'll put us pretty far south and onto I-10.
  6. Which ever way you go take some mental notes. When we leave the Balloon Fiesta in October we plan on heading to Flagstaff on I-40 then I-17 down to Phoenix then picking up I-10 to Tucson and all the way to El Paso. Planning on dropping down to Big Bend NP and then picking up I-10 again just before San Antonio and following it all the way back to Florida. Will be interesting in finding out if I'm making a mistake following that route.
  7. Here's what the Big Boy looks like and where you'll find it in the rear electrical box. in my case in the engine compartment. The small wires ar what activates it. You can check to see if there is power in them. Just don't short out those battery cables connected to it or you're going to be in for a big surprise. The Big Boy can be rebuilt and there is a write up available on how to do that.
  8. Phillip, I just placed an order and it worked for me. Just before you check out look for the 'add coupon' to click on and then type in FREESHIPFS and have it recalculate and it will give you the free shipping.
  9. Many thanks for posting Paul. I just ordered the 128 oz jug. That's a great price. BTW; Just for info I found it at O'Riley's and they had it on sale about a year ago but it was in a blue bottle and labeled 303 Protectant Interior & Exterior. I've found it to always be cheaper than the 303 Aerospace product in the white bottle. I actually called the company ((GOLD EAGLE Co.) to find out what the difference was. What they they told me was that they were exactly the same produce and just packaged differently for different consumer markets. I suspected that because that's something I learned back when I was working in the glass container industry. You'd be surprised at how the same product is sold in different containers just to be able to manipulate the selling prices. I could tell you some stories about some wine and beer products along with others ;-). Bottom line here is you see both of these products somewhere just buy the cheapest one.
  10. Thanks Walter .... I think 🙂 I can see this is going to turn into a real project LOL.
  11. Some good options Walter. Do you think ALL Monaco's were prewired with a circuit to turn on lights when opening the door? If the porch light could be turned on with the Key Fob then that would eliminate my issue with trying to have the steps illuminated.
  12. Cool, that's the way they should operate, kind of like the 'puddle' lights under the mirrors on my truck.
  13. Hmmmm Interesting. Time for me to dig out my schematics and see if that can be done without impacting how those lights turn on now with the grab handle.. Thanks Bob.
  14. JIM, my Executive does have those features but for the application I am looking for I would have to leave them on 24/7. When we have the coach parked in campground it's not a problem to have those on but when we have the coached parked at our house for a week or two before or after a trip it gets really dark by the coach. I don't want to leave it all lit up to irritate the neighbors anymore then I am by parking it in the driveway while we pack/unpack. When I go out at night and open the door I have to remember to carry a flashlight with me so I see to get up the stairs and find the light switch inside. It just would be nice to have some lights come on when I opened the door. Hey Paul, let me know how it works out and post a photo if you can. I like the feature of being able to recharge them with a USB cord and may go that route. One downside of having them magnetically attached at the bottom of the door is that they occasionally get bumped off or come off is someone slams the door shut. The other two places I have them work fine with no issues.
  15. Just noticed them this morning when I tried doing a search again for the ones I bought. Those for the closet have a lot more cells in them so I'm wondering if maybe they might be overwhelming.
  16. I'll check again. What I do see though is what looks like two brass contacts in the door jam near the hinges and I suspect that's what might be providing power to the door. Also, I got to thinking and will also need to drop the voltage down to 3v for powering those lights. I don't understand what they didn't set something up like the automotive industry.
  17. I've been wanting to add lights to our entrance door to operate like ones in a car where when you open the door the lights automatically come on. I've found some OXYLED battery operated motion sensing lights on Amazon (see photo) that work well but they really go through batteries fast. I would like to find a way to hard wire them in, even if it's just the one at the bottom of the door. The ones I found have a magnetic strip that is double backed taped to the door then the light just magnetically attaches to the strip. They make larger ones for closets but I preferred these smaller ones and they came in a pkg of 3 which was perfect. Has anyone found a way to get constant power into the door 'easily' ?
  18. If I was to make a change of location I would consider the Sevierville / Pigeon Forge, Tn. area. But where ever the location you must keep in mind that you will have to entice any representatives and presenters to travel there also and in order to do that you might have to start reimbursing them for their expenses. Whenever we go to that area we always visit in the fall because of the milder weather. There's a TON of work and continuous coordination involved in setting something up like the 'Gathering' and having to do it over a very long distance makes it even more difficult. I believe Dave has been responsible for single handedly setting up The Gathering at Lazydays (Negotiating for a group site reservations, getting the different representatives to show up for presentations, scheduling a conference room along with media equipment, coordinating meals and menus etc .etc.) and they are just 150 miles away. My hat is off to him for all the effort he puts forth in pulling it off every year. Just trying to schedule something, especially in Florida during the winter months, so as not to conflict with all of the other events and activities going on around the country is a feat in itself. As you can imagine there is a LOT of homework that has to be done other then just picking a nice campground somewhere. In making suggestions it would be very beneficial to do some of this homework in advance otherwise you'll just be making more work for Dave, and ?, as then they'll be having to research EVERY suggested location presented and that will be another big burden placed on them. Just food for thought is all.
  19. They must be the flooded batteries like I have now. I've decided to go with AGM for my next set.
  20. CountryB, From your numbers then I take it that the SAM's Club Duracell batteries won't meet your requirements ?
  21. All 8 of my Interstate GC2-HD-UTL house batteries are dated 10/13 and finally getting ready to be replaced. A couple of the batteries are just 'tickling' the red mark on the hydrometer. I hear the Duracell AGM Batteries from SAM's Club would be a good replacement for my flooded batteries. However when I look at the specs for them I get a little confused as the numbers seem to be less than my Interstates. Am I looking at the correct battery from SAM's Club? I heard I missed the big sale on them in Dec but when we got back home from The Gathering we had a SAM's Club flier in the mail indicating there will be a $20 off sale starting Feb 26 and ending Mar 22. Their add however says All Duracell Marine Batteries so I'm not sure yet if the Golf Cart 6V AGM batteries will be included in the sale. So, the bottom line question is if the $179.73 Golf Cart batteries are the ones I should be getting to replace my Interstate batteries? Replacement Interstate AGM's are either $340.95 or $432.95 each so even if I have to pay the full price for the Duracells I'll be saving enough to afford to take Chris out to dinner 😉
