  1. Apparently Northwest RV Supply has quite a mark up on then at $359. Are they still available through Paul for the $125 ?
  2. I sent you a private message with my friend's phone number.
  3. OK, let me check. I don't have her address, only a phone number. I'll PM it to you, if I can figure out how to do that 🙂
  4. Dennis, We'll probably be within 10 miles of where you live. We're staying in Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort on the 13th of Oct and the next day (Wed the 14th) we'll be coming through your area on I-10. I just found out last night that one of my old co-workers has moved out to Gilbert and I'm going to see about stopping somewhere close to visit with them for an hour or so. I might try and pull into the Gila River Casino parking lot. If you don't mind hanging on to them that would be great. If not then that's fine as well.
  5. We are 32962 in Florida. We'll be in Arizona in October after when the Balloon Fiesta in NM was supposed to happen, going to Williams and then down to Tucson. Don't know what shipping cost would be. It would depend on the size of the box and Wt.
  6. Tom, Just curious. Did you install the bands BEFORE the tire was mounted? When I had my new tires mounted they mounted the tire on the rim and then installed the band. After looking at your photo I now have to believe mine are sitting off center as well.
  7. John, Dave has his contact info in the VENDORS topis: Chuck Thatcher CEO, email: chuck@tyron-usa.com Tire Safety and Flat Tire Protection 8265A Causeway Blvd. Tampa, Florida Phone 813-620-0364 www..tyron-usa.com Hope this helps.
  8. That's strange. I purchased mine at the 2019 Gathering also. I'll be if you give him a call he may just send you a couple. I know I got extra bolts but I can't remember now whether or not they were in the kit or he gave them to me.
  9. I probably should have taken better photos of their tool but this is all I have. I used DynaBeads for balancing and after a good 10,000 miles they seem to be working fine. I saved some of the old dynabeads , weighed them into 12oz lots and put them in some ziplock bags to carry with me in case I ever had to have tire work done while traveling. I'm not totally sure but I think there may have been some upgrades to the Tyron tire tool since the earlier ones. The next time I go down to our coach I'll try and remember to take some photos of the kit that I purchased at the 2019 Gathering. Bob, In the left of this photo next to the band you can see the 'special' bolt and the barrel nut it uses.
  10. That 4-way tool was what the tire place made. The Tyron emergency kit I think only costs around $100 and is a lot more compact.
  11. Bob, You will need one bolt per band. I can't verify the bolt size right now because our coach is in storage and that's where I keep my spares. It appears to be a SS socket head bolt about 1/4" x 2 or 2-1/2" long. I don't know the thread but I'm guessing it to be a fine thread and it very well may be a metric bolt. They have a special drive socket tool with a hex head end on it. I would suggest just getting in touch with Chuck Thatcher and get them from him. What happened in my case is that the tech who had installed them previously snapped off the end of the tool and left it wedged in the head of the bolt and didn't tell anyone. When I went to replace the tires they had to cut it in order to remove the band, and of course they adamantly denied it was their fault. Fortunately I had a friend locally who had a spare. If you buy their emergency road kit it comes with a set of spare bolts.
  12. That's one thing Chris told us at the gathering to use SS rivets because the screws will eventually loosen due to how our coaches twist and vibrate etc.
  13. SAM's Club carries them. Your particular local one may be out of them but you could order them on line. Go to the beginning of this thread and you'll see their advertisement.
  14. Ah Ha, that explains it my confusion. It looked like it was plugged into a 110v outlet. Makes more sense now. Thanks for the clarification. How long does the battery typically last? Geesh, when my wife sees it's that sensitive I just know she's going to want to put one next to the commode in case I miss 🙂 .
  15. Ivan, It shows being plugged into a 110 outlet but mentions a low battery alarm. Does it operate off both 110v & 9v ?
  16. Richard, how do you go about securing yours?
  17. Thanks Harold, your link works now. Dang, I guess I get to naive sometimes, I didn't even give a thought to it maybe growing legs and walking off while camping somewhere. Is that a real problem? Have you heard about that happening a lot? I'm thinking now maybe the best way to use it would be to connect everything up, fill the holding tank and then put it safely away until we need more water. I don't know where I could permanently install it and still have it be accessible, 'conveniently', for servicing.
  18. I tried your link but it doesn't work. I just get this message:
  19. Thanks for the reply Richard. I hadn't seen the TravelSoft water softener. It looks to be slightly larger than the 'On-The'Go' unit. How often have you had to change the resin in it? The 'On-The-Go' says in the 6-7 year time frame, which seem slink a long time to me but I don't really know. Do you have to Backflush it more frequently than the Regeneration process? I'm not really familiar with using one.
  20. I think my biggest concern would be the amount of time it takes to do the regeneration process where you're supposed to let the water run through it for 20 - 25 min. I would think most of the campgrounds would speak very unkindly to you about letting their water running for that long, unless you did it at night and run the water into your sewer line 😉 The one I was looking at only uses common table salt and has caps to seal it up for transporting.
  21. With all of this unscheduled ‘excess’ time I’m having lately I’ve ended up watching way too many YouTube videos on all sorts of topics. One topic that has caught my attention is about portable water softeners. The one that shows up the most often is the “On The Go Water Softener” and I’ve found it at CW for $249.33 ( https://www.campingworld.com/on-the-go-portable-double-standard-water-softener-conditioner-56461.html ) . My question is: Is anyone else in our group using a portable water softener and if so, what are the Pros and Cons you’re experiencing? Yeah, I know, cabin fever is setting in and it’s getting to be either eating too much or shopping on Amazon ! ☹ Mike
  22. Thanks for posting Tom. I'm expecting to be replacing my 2013 Interstate Flooded batteries this year before we head out west and have to boondock at the Balloon Fiesta. I'm waiting to see if Sam's Club puts their Duracell 6v AGM's back on sale hopefully before this Fall. It sounds like from your experience that you advocate using flooded batteries instead of AGM's. I'm still a little on the fence about them. I currently go top off my batteries with Di-Ionize water once a month with my 8 house batteries taking about 3/4 - 7/8 gal. The Pro-Fill system helps but I know I have over filled them on occasion. I really don't look forward to wrestling with replacing eight 70 pound batteries. 😉
  23. Have a safe trip Chris. Three things always come to mind when I think about Tucson. One is the ride on I-10 through some of those rocky, boulder laden, mountain passes out there and wondering who the hell ever come up with the idea of building a road through there, then seeing something white out in the desert that looked like snow only to find out it was the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Aircraft Boneyard (Amazing place to see) and also the Saguaro National Park. There's supposed to be a nice Aircraft Museum out there as well.
  24. Thanks Steve, I sent them an email to see if they can help me out. I can't seem to get my SAMSUNG Blue Ray Home Entertainment System to play the LG TV audio through the surround sound speakers. It worked when I purchased the coach.
