  1. We had coach-net on our 2013 Allegro Bus. I had an AC compressor lockup after a stop near Mesquite, NV. Tiffin provided an AC bypass belt with the coach to use in the event of a compressor failure. I wasn't sure if the resulting engine overheat had done any serious damage. I just wanted a service tech to help install the replacement belt, however, if more damage had occurred, I would have needed a tow. Coach-net said that I could have one or the other, however, I could not get a tow if a service tech came first. With that, I chose to have a tow. They sent a big enough truck from St George UT. When he arrived, we installed the shorter bypass belt, (it took three hands) and all was well. I drove into Mesquite for overnight at a Casino. The next morning, we noticed that the right lower corner of the windshield had popped out enough that I could slide my fingers through the opening. It was due to my having to get off the interstate for the belt issue and put some twist to the body. Another call to Coach-net. The rep said that was a common occurrence. He suggested I duct tape the opening shut and proceed to our destination. I did and we traveled 1600 miles home with no issues and had it reseated. This was three years ago. Since they have changed ownership, I can't attest to their service, however, I'm going to sign up with them again even though I already have Good Sams roadside coverage, The cost is a small price to pay when you need help.
  2. Thank you. I ordered one from NW RV Supply. The online version is handy, but sometimes an old-fashioned printed copy is easier to use and find what I need.
  3. I have the manual on my computer which is handy. However, being old school, I would like to have a hard copy. Does anyone still publish one for our 06 Executive?
  4. amphi_sc, I can see why you would like the system. When working correctly, it is a great information tool. I didn't know the system had an auto refill option for the fresh water. I'll do some more digging and recalibrating and see where it takes me. We will only use the coach to travel to AZ in Oct and back to WI in May with a couple of week long side trips in between, less than 30 days total, so it's not a "must have" option.
  5. I've tried all of the background colors, however, it is still difficult to read with sunglasses on. The VMSpc was great, but it is no longer available from what I can find.
  6. I also do not have the monitor in the bedroom. The info on the Alladin is nice to see, but it's difficult to read in daylight while driving. on our previous coaches, I had the VMSpc program on a laptop mounted on the dash which was very easy to read and arrange the gauges to suit me. As long as the dash gauges work, that's all we really need. Our early motorhomes only had the basic engine gauges and we somehow survived.
  7. We have company using the coach now. When they leave, I will do as vito mentioned and calibrate all three tanks at both full and empty to see if that helps. To my surprise, when I went out to check this morning, the grey and black seem to be registering what I think is close. The fresh remains at 0. When I filled it, I calibrated it and it registered full. A day later, it was 80%. After three days, it was 55% and now is at 0. I can visually see the tank is 3/4 full. I like the Alladin system, so will play with it awhile before going to something else.
  8. After setting the tank levels, the Grey seems to work, however, the Black and Fresh are erratic. I will look into the Seelevel sensors.
  9. On mine, it looks like water would run down the frame inside to the bottom corner, and visible from the driver seat. The rubber seal is bent over at the bottom and could let water run in. I'll try to reshape it with a hair dryer to conform to the window when shut. The repair tech stopped by after the Fleetwood job. He repaired 20 windows on that coach. $2800. I asked what causes them to fog after time. He said some is due to faulty sealing when new. Most are assembled at low altitudes. After some time, going up to 9-10,000', the pressure between the panes is too great for the seal to hold. Once that happens, temperature and humidity changes can cause it to fog. Some get etched beyond repair. An easy way to check is to briefly wave a propane torch across the fogged area. If it instantly clears for a few seconds, it's repairable. If not, a new window is needed.
  10. Glad I waited. It took two guys a couple of hours to remove the window, defog all three sections, reseal and install it. It comes with a 4 year warrantee too. The power shade came out with ease when the two clips were opened and snapped back into place as quick. After I saw it out, the mount is the same as a type we have in our home. I would recommend them to anyone. FWIW they are going to do 14 windows on a Fleetwood tomorrow. I can't imagine that many fogged windows on one coach.
  11. I suspect the window has been removed before. The dreaded front lower corner is missing one screw and another is broken off. I also found a screw that was half way out. I'll take Toms advise and just watch the experts do this one. The company is Auto Glass Boss from Mesa, AZ. I saw them at Quartzite, so mine probably isn't their first Monaco Rodeo.
  12. The drivers side window is fogged between the panes. A service firm is coming tomorrow to remove it and clean it up. I thought I would save them some time and remove most of the screws that secure the inner and outer frames together. The top has limited space to work in due to the power night shade being secured there. Can it be removed to create more working space? I see two clips on it, however, hesitate to get into it without better knowledge of the process. I'm guessing it would drop down if the two clips were released and hopefully with enough wire to let it down. I'm hoping this isn't their first Monaco to work on. Has anyone gone through this type of repair? Thanks
  13. These companies all seem to play the rate increase game sooner or later. We had been with Geico for 4+years insuring 4 vehicles, an umbrella policy along with 2 homes with Travelers thru Geico. When we bought this Monaco, and was given the rate, I went looking. Auto Owners came in looking great and I almost signed with them. However, someone said to check with FMCA. When I checked with them, they quoted me a Progressive policy that was higher than Auto Owners on the motorhome, but lower overall when all the vehicles were included. I activated it yesterday and cancelled Geico today. We had been with Progressive years ago, however, left them when they bumped the rates. If history repeats itself, I will be looking again in a couple years.
  14. I think the MH Gods are smiling on me. I was contacted by PM from a member who has a Tru-Center unit with about 6 months use before he removed it when trading coaches. He does not need it and very graciously offered it to me. Just have to get it from east TX to Lake Havasu. All days are good, but some are a little better. 😀
  15. I might try resetting at both full and empty, but the reliability of the system seems to be iffy at best. I like the Bluetooth version of the Seelevel system leaving the monitor in the wet bay. Who has the best deal on it?
  16. I'm thinking the Seelevel system might be my best option too. That's what we have had in previous coaches and it was reliable. Where did you mount the monitor panel? The simplest would be to put it in the wet bay, however, that wouldn't be as convenient. I'm not sure where to bring the wires up to a panel.
  17. The tank levels indicated on the Alladin system and in the wet bay have not been correct. I went into the program and set the calibration for the grey and black tanks using the data supplied in the OM for empty. I did the same for the fresh tank when it was full using the full raw data. Afterwards, all three tanks displayed the correct amount. A day later, the fresh read 92% when it was still full, and today, it read 75%. The Grey and black remain at empty. Is this an indication the sensors are bad?
  18. If it's working correctly, as you're driving straight, push the button momentarily. That tells the ram to center itself. If you have a crosswind, steer slightly into the wind and push the button. If it's working correctly, it will hold the steering wheel in that position when you let go of it. When conditions change, just reset it with a push of the button. It's easy to overcome any setting with a normal turn of the steering wheel. It's a great system. Wish I could find a leftover one in the box. 🙂
  19. Just curious now. You said you had diesel fuel coming out the exhaust. I would have thought that if the burner did not light after a certain time, the fuel would be shut off to avoid loading the chamber and exhaust with fuel. Isn't there some type of safeguard for the burner to avoid raw fuel buildup ,,,,, or not?
  20. It might not be as important as I think. My previous Bus had IFS with no steering aid and drove great with 2 finger control. Side winds were not an issue until they got over 18- 20 mph. I suspect the tag axle helped with the stability. Every motorhome before it was non-tag and had the I-beam front axle, so the steering aids made quite a difference. My Executive has the tag with the I-beam, so a mixture of my previous ones. The tag is carrying 2000# more and the steer is 1,000# less than the bus. The Safety Plus with the Super Steer seems like a good combo, but gets a bit pricy with installation. The Monacowatts looks like it would stabilize the ride, but how much would it help in a cross wind or changing road crowns? In March, I will be towing a 20' trailer weighing about 8,000#. That will probably tell me if something needs to be added.
  21. 25 years ago, I had the Howard Power Center Steering system installed on a 96 Discovery. It was $3,000 at the time and was an amazing system. It was almost like auto pilot in a plane. Years later, I had the Blue Ox Tru-Center stabilizer on a 03 Phaeton. It worked very well too, but not a precise and the Howard system. Now, neither one is available. I would like to add a similar steering aid to our Monaco. I would prefer an adjustable unit, however, am not aware of one. Does anyone have the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer? How well does it work? I've read mixed reviews on the Safe-T-Plus and not too impressed with it. Any other steering aids available?? Thanks
  22. We would have been in Q with our coach for a repair, however the Aqua-Hot failed a couple days before and an unscheduled dental problem prevented going with the coach. I'll contact them on Monday. Maybe they'll still be in the area.
  23. Thanks. I saw their booth in Quartzite. I'll check with them to see if they are going to be in my area.
  24. I read the recent post about repairing a fogged window, however it isn't something I want to try. Someone on another site said there was a place in Lake Havasu City that defogged RV windows. I can't seem to find one listed online. Does anyone know who it might be. Another option is that we will be going through Phoenix in March and could stop there for the repair. The big window on the drivers side is the worst while the slider and small one above it is only slightly fogged.
