Guest bobstromain Posted February 4, 2021 Share Posted February 4, 2021 Before servicing the gen. I ran it a few minutes to warm the oil and had no problems. Even though I crimped the fuel lines like I always do there seemed to be more fuel running out of the small line than usual. When complete tried to start and it is not priming. I hear the prime pump running but it is very quiet and obviously is not pumping fuel. Disconnected line at filter and it seems to be pulling but not strong. Ivan K Posted February 4, 2021 Share Posted February 4, 2021 Fuel pumps are good at pushing the fluid, not as much at sucking it. I would open the tank and put a hose on it and a bit of pressure to help the pump get primed. Sounds like it is running dry. Before doing a whole lot of trouble shooting, hit the prime button and run the primer for at least 30 seconds, Do this about 5 times and then try to start. See what happens.
