Headlight assembly

Ron P., 2004 Monaco Executive

I am looking for headlight assemblies for my 2004 Monaco Executive.  I read a thread that said the assembly were the same as the 1998-2004 Cadillac Seville.   I have been unable to verify.   Does anyone have experience or parts number for these assemblies.   Any ideas/suggestions is appreciated.

DOT IP AP2 K 98 6K

This is the number on the lens.  Research says the headlight assemblies comes from the 1998-2004 Cadillac Seville.

I found two for the Seville but need to verify.   They cost a lot.  Can't be wrong and stuck with lights I can't use.

It certainly looks like same.

The light come out from the back. You will need to trim some fiberglass off the opening to get it back in. The light assembly only held in with 2 screws one on top and one in the bottom. I also installed all LED bulbs.

any idea if this headlight assembly would also fit the 2003 Executive?

Thanks

There is NO WAY to tell....even if you look at the pictures on the brochure for a 03 and 04.  The ONLY way is to get the numbers, or particularly the DOT number off your headlight.

The ones quoted here have the SAME markings as the OEM's.  About the price?  DO NOT KNOW.  The OEM GM headlights were custom molded and the plastic (clear lens) had a special UV coating to prevent hazing.  Over time, road and UV and wear and such erodes that coating.  Once the UV protection is gone....then they will haze up.  Park in a garage all the time.  LOL.  That DOES prevent deterioration.

I would shop around at a well know and respected body repair shop and see how much they would charge if they ordered a set for. Those headlights, back then, were pretty much standard.

If you trust IRV2, this says that the same number fit a 2003 Executive.  You want the DOT IP AP2 K 98 6K

If it does NOT have that number on the headlight....then it will NOT fit and is NOT DOT CERTIFIED....

OK....a LITTLE RESEARCH...  How about the GENUINE GM Cadillac HEADLIGHT?

These are SUPPOSEDLY NEW GM OEM QUALITY HEADLIGHTS....  $245....assume the other side is the same.  SO... $490 and you get OEM quality and NOT an aftermarket...

Just an idea.  My GS (with my coaching) bought a used Acura 2012 TL.  We negotiated that the DEALER would install NEW headlights....he picked up the labor and we bought them. I have a DEALER account with this dealership and get employee pricing. Their parts and collision center guys said to buy "Brand X" as that is what they used.  These were Projector HID bulbs....and expensive.  Amazon was in the $600 - $700 range for a pair. We went with their supplier and the cost (no tax charged) was $755. I KNOW that they will last.

SO, do the comparison of a NEW Aftermarket to a NEW OEM....and then decide....

That's it....but now you know and have options....
