Donflem
I was wondering if anyone knew how are why this part turned blue. It’s some sort of valve on my Aqua Hot it’s leaking on the top of the very back . I think it’s a valve. It looks like a pain to get to. I haven’t started looking yet. I thought I would reach out to the group to see what it is and were to find a replacement? Thanks Don 2007 Dynasty
96 EVO
Zone valve. Prevents the boiler fluid flowing back to the tank when the pump stops sending fluid to that zone. I'm guessing the blue color is just a reaction between the boiler fluid, brass, and oxygen. Edited January 16 by 96 EVO
Solution HJK2005 Posted January 16 Solution Share Posted January 16 (edited) Hello Don, that is a 1/2" check valve. You have one for each zone of the Aqua Hot. They turn blue/green like that when there is a leak that allows the boiler liquid to get on the outside of the valve. You can Google "1/2" brass check valve" and there are various sources for them. Here is one link for Lowe's: https://www.lowes.com/pd/AMERICAN-VALVE-Check-Valve-Brass-1-2-in-Fnpt-Swing-Check-Valve/1000248917?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-plb-_-ggl-_-LIA_PLB_142_Pipe-Fittings-_-1000248917-_-local-_-0-_-0&ds_rl=1286981&gclid=CjwKCAiA5Y6eBhAbEiwA_2ZWIYMQpNnTMIHRPQPGGxqzC_VzUZ0sDJJ7lktNoNxPilhPmXMjZZn41RoCGzIQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Hope this helps. Feel free to reach me directly if you have any questions. I just did a complete once over on our Aqua Hot. Happy RVing. - Jonathan Edited January 16 by HJK2005

grizzly
I needed to replace one of my check valves so I checked with aqua hot to ask if I needed a specific valve or if I could go get one at a hardware store. They said they are different and the seal inside of the regular one would deteriorate over time due to chems in the solution. Now I wasn't goingbto buy from aqua hot so they had no reason to tell me that to try and sell me. I would double check with a tech if a regular one will work. I got one made for aqua hot specifically from a supplier. Coists more but no chance of pieces getting I'm man system . Research it

birdshill123
There are 2 types of check valves. The swing valve uses a flapper. The other valve is a one way check valve that has a spring and plunger inside.
