Air bag suspension 07 Sig

Recommended Posts

Got 2 questions concerning my air bag system . 07 sig with valid system, only air bags. When in auto the coach levels and stops but it is slightly tilting backwards. Is there an adjustment that can be done and how. 2 nd question is my back passenger side air bags are not inflating when tryin to do it manually or travel mode. It just happened out of the blue. I can hear the solenoid clicking when I hit button but nothing happening. Have to move the coach about 200 yards in a month, question  is will it hurt anything if I can't get the bag side to raise to move it that far? The bags are all the way down on that side

There is a specific process using the key pad to reset "level". Do an internet search for the Service Manual, contains a wealth of info. I'm attaching photos of the manual and instructions for setting level on page 33, Performing zero set.

Hope this helps

As to your second problem on the Travel mode that sounds like a ride height issue and that info is in your Coach owners manual. If you need a copy you can download it on the Monaco web site. The 2007 manual doesn't give a ride height but the 2006 manual lists 9" and that's what I use. The actual valves aren't all that reliable, I got one that was bad out of the box.

The ride height issue on the rear shouldn't be a issue for a short, slow move. Front not so much because you would damage your fenders if you cycled the steering.

Good info above.  Have you tried or are you doing the AUTOMATIC leveling.  The way most folks do a ZERO RESET...  They go to manual.  That assumes all the air bags are moving.  If you have issues with one corner or bags not responding, then that should be corrected.  Once the manual control moves all corners to level, then, with the slides IN or retracted, you manually level it.  Need a 12" or 24" level and you have to pick a good surface.  Typically if you have a tile floor... that works.  Also use your level up front and then in the center or shower area. You need to find a good surface, like the track of the mirror doors in the bedroom or if you have a NO SLIDE spot with tile..."Bathroom".  Level is a matter of trial and error as well as consistency.  Once you get both ends leveled Side to Side and Back to Front, THEN you Re-Zero....

If the auto level system doesn't respond to that...then follow the manual or maybe need some service on the solenoids...

NOW, there is ONE thing...now for this system, based on a similar incident on a 07 Dynasty, gets into a REAL funk from "trying to reset or get it all back to default", it takes a more complex reboot of the system...but it works.  Josam's had to do that for a friend.  New control panel.  Installed wrong or not set up.  Josam's tech (the Monaco specialist) spent at least half an hour on the phone going through this......and then BINGO...all was well and all the "bad solenoids" were not replaced.

Tom, Yea the back passenger side air bags are not filling with air even though I hear the solenoid clicking when using manual mode Where are the solenoids for the back air bags? Are they hard to access?

I have to pass....I can troubleshoot, generically.  But, a "hands on" member that has worked on them will have to help.  But, based on what I have helped others with...the solenoids need to work....as in open or close and let air pass...

Get them fixed...and then follow the procedure and decide if you need to reset the zero...

The ride height issue on the rear shouldn't be a issue for a short, slow move. Front not so much because you would damage your fenders if you cycled the steering.

I've rebuilt both six pack 2 way valve bodies, haven't done the 4 pack 3 way tag axle valve pack.

The rear six pack is above and just behind the drive axle on the drivers side. NOT easy to get to because it's all the way up to the interior floor. Best to unmount the driver side ride height valve to give you a little room, you don't need to disconnect the 2 air lines. Tag Axle 4 pack is right in front of that one. The front six pack is dead center in the middle above the front axle.

If the problem is just a soleniod it makes things much easier. Each soleniod has a 2 wire plug connector, one black ground and one color coded for each position/function. I only wrote down 3 the of the colors/position but through a process of elimination it's the soleniod opposite the red wired soleniod, see attached schematic. Valid may be able to confirm the color coding. Not 100%, but 99% sure

Up to you on how you choose to get inder the coach. I pull mine up on block ramps and completely air everything down but you're not actually doing anything on the air side.

Once you've identified the correct sloeniod simply unplug the connector, remove the large pressed steel nut from the top and the soleniod slides off. Be careful NOT to lose the thick plastic spacer washer under the soleniod. It may or may not come off with the soleniod.

Make sure the spacer goes on before the soleniod and reassemble in reverse order. Don't put it on upside down or it can't plug it back in. The new replacement soleniod will come with a better steel nut and I use the new ones. Don't gorilla tighten them, it could damage the soleniod coil or casing.

Reinstall the ride height valve and test.

All you need are long arms, some flexibility and patience.

I could of taken photos if this came up early because I was down there testing a repair. Attached an exploded view.

Here's a copy of the best schematic I've been able to come up with but no wire color coding. You can see where I labeled the red wire.

Sorry some how copied and posted   I agree they have been great every time I talk to them. So I figured out the issue. So the line from six pack manifold to air bag is either not connected or has a big hole. When I hit manual raise for back passenger side bags you can hear a large rush of air coming out. Now I just have to figure out how to get under there and in there safely to fix the issue. Worse case scenario I get a mobile truck mech to come out and use jacks to lift and fix. Safer than me going under but still Contemplating it.  Might be able to lift opposite side and block it. We will see.

We have a vast amount of technical information in the Downloads Files section of the site including operation, service and parts manuals.  See page 26 in the link below to the Valid Powergear (and HWH) manuals to reset the system to what you define as coach level.

For the fill list of manuals here is the link:
