  1. I don’t boondock enough to justify lithium. Looking for AGM so compartment stays cleaner vs the lead acid maintenance. I’d have to modify my compartment to add any batteries. Then a larger inverter/charger is required. I don’t boondock enough to need the inverter update either…. I just want to make sure I don’t install something that will overload and cause a fire or meltdown). Sticking with stock sometimes is simpler I guess.
  2. All, My manual calls for 4 6v 450 AH U2200 batteries. Here’s the question… would buying higher capacity batteries benefit or cause problems? Looking to upgrade to AGM batteries and noticed 3 sizes in the lifeline series. Coach is all stock, no adds of solar panels. Will the larger size batteries stress the charger and cause me problems? I still have to origininal mod sine inverter/charger 2012 unit. this is in my 2003 Dynasty 42’ coach.
  3. Windsorbill06…. Thanks for your reply. I figured that’s how the BF worked. Back to troubleshooting. Happy trails. Kurt
  4. All, if dash gauges start to fail (trans temp & fuel), buying a scan gauge D or the Blue Fire system won’t fix that issue will it? How does the 6 or 9 pin read fuel levels when a separate sender provides that information? thanks, Kurt
  5. Your not working on your motorhome, your working in the generator… gotta use the gray area wherever you can. kidding aside.. your sensor is packed off with calcium type build up. what I did. buy a right angle drill adapter for a drill (mine was 12” long) buy a stubby drill bit the size of the sensor hole. I’m not home to remember the name or size but I got it at Home Depot in the drill isle. It’s not a “Chuck” type of bit. It’s a hex type about 1.5” to 2” long is all. I’m pretty sure they are counter sink type of hex bit. It was a “Ryobi speed load bit). Just can’t remember the size… I bought 2 of them. Take the part you got removed and use it for size up. remove t-stat from top of engine & remove coolant below sensor hole. Place rag below sensor hole. two people - 1 to run the drill & 1 to run right angle head through sensor mounting hole. it takes a lot longer to prep the whole thing than it will to drill. You are only drilling brass & the calcium. Hope this helps & good luck!
  6. Not to hijack the post… but, how can I tell what my inverter will power up? I have the 2012 model and only run the fridge and micro wave… what else does/can it run?
  7. Park pressure isn’t the issue… I’ll have to mess with the hose connection. thanks.
  8. I cannot remember the name but I have the silver hose reel used for water. I am having an issue getting the hose clamps to prevent leaks. Can’t get the hose to seal on the copper connection. Using radiator clamps (3). Anyone got a better clamp? good day, Kurt
  9. All, Can anyone point me to where I can find a replacement switch for the from hyd slide? It’s a wider black rocker switch style. thanks, Kurt
  10. All, 2003 Monaco Dynasty princess 42’. Fuel & tranny gauges quit working. Does anyone know where the ground bar is behind the dash! I’ve taken the panel off the driver’s side and it’s not jumping out at me... tranny temp gauge don’t wiggle, fuel gauge tries to move at key on but don’t move. I tried adjusting it & that’s not it. thanks for any help.. Kurt
  11. I’m not a fan of using the key on to fill the filters BUT, in this case it will tell you if the lift pump is working or not. As was also mentioned for the generator... storing that long requires priming before trying to start. Manual says to depress the STOP toggle the opposite direction for at least 30 seconds before trying to start. Also separate issue from fuel... make sure the rear run switch didn’t get bumped to the “rear” position (for the Cummins). good luck, I hope it’s something simple. Make sure and let us know. It’s always good to hear others issues for future troubleshooting. Kurt
  12. Thanks everyone! Prepping the coach appears to be the most challenging.
  13. Paul, but the total air drain of tanks & bags is needed correct?
  14. Ivylog, Front passenger under headlight has a drain but nothing for rear of coach. Airline connection is above propane tank drivers side.
  15. Anyone use the Expello electric air tank spot valves to prevent moisture? My coach has ZERO valves on the tanks to bled condensates air. expello or stick with manual dump valves?
  16. I’m mechanically inclined so just asking as a DIY’er... scale of 1 to 10 (10 is simple), how difficult is the job to swap o-rings on the 6 pack leveling units? I also assume, air tanks are emptied AND bags are deflated correct? Second - while under coach, would you upgrade the ride height valves... I assume measurements from installed units can be used for new valves? Scale of 1 to 10??
  17. I’ve seen questions about tag pressure setting and I think each coach varies so.... what is your optimum weight on steer axle for driving comfort? 2003 dynasty 42’ w/ tag. steer - 12000 drive - 17000 tag - 7000 In this example, what if the drive was say 14000... do you all reduce tag pressure thus reducing steer & adding drive weight? My unit is totally empty so not real sure what current weight balance is. at 115# air in steer tires, it sure seems like they have more belly than rear axles. Ride is ok though. just curious... thanks for any insight.
  18. What use is the $65 per month? Stream TV / internet access only/ or both?
  19. Stop the replies.... you are correct... after I saw the DW’s pictures, it says SONY on the box. I couldn’t see the word in the dark. thanks everyone. I was hoping to find a box full of $$..... no luck
  20. All, Any help would be great... I removed the on demand hot water unit from under the sink. While under there, I saw a large silver plastic box mounted on the wall. I could not see any wires or plumbing going to it. Anyone know what this might be? It is not accessible by any other means than from under the sink. 2003 Monaco Dynasty Princess 42’
  21. I’m looking for some clarity.... is it true that some states propane delivery companies cannot fill tanks installed in RV’s. Is the only option to visit a propane filling center?
  22. 2003 Monaco dynasty 42’ (2 slides). On a scale of 1 to 10 (10=Difficult as heck)... rate changing bags... front = rear = mine are getting pretty weathered looking.. want to prepare. Thanks in advance
  23. 2003 Monaco dynasty 42’ w/side mount radiator. I noticed the mounting rubber bushing needs replaced (probably both). Anyone know where to get them? Thanks, Kurt
  24. Very nice job! Glad I joined ur FB page. Great idea on the slide edge.
  25. First off, I feel comfortable performing maint work on coach. But supporting it is a question.... I understand drive on ramps & could build them BUT is placing blocks between the frame rails adequate as well? If bags failed, house frame would rest on blocks? I think I’d have to build 15” tall ramps to make up for 9” of house drop... I’m not a super small fella. Does a combination of both work (block & ramps)for protection? there are a lot of tips & tricks, & great info but don’t really mention how they set up their protection barrier...
