  7. Do yourself a favor and get rid of your Norcold frig. Members are now posting problems with the Amish solution. A little over a year ago I saw the remains of a burned out motorhome caused by a Norcold refrigerator. I have a Norcold 1200 that had the recall done in Oct 2010 and I was searching the internet to see if this last recall has been effective in stopping the fires. What I found out is that the fires continue. Chuck B 2004 Windsor
  8. A couple quick tips he did not mention. Tilt the coach toward the passenger side to push what is left of the contents of the tanks so that they do not drain out when you remove the sensor. (Make sure the tank is empty before tilting the coach.) Add a 90 degree "L" to the tank with the "L" facing up. That way the sensor can be screwed into the up facing "L" to keep any solids from the inside of the sensor. Chuck B 2004 Windsor

  11. Prestone has recalled its Shop Pro brand of RV and marine antifreeze, sold exclusively at Autozone. The recall was necessary because of a risk of methanol poisoning, according to a release from the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (USPSC) The recalled antifreeze bottles have date code FT21281 printed at the bottom of the bottle and only bottles with blue fluid are affected. “Bottles labeled as Shop Pro RV & Marine Antifreeze were improperly filled with a product containing methanol. These improperly filled bottles do not have the mandatory cautionary label for products containing methanol warnings, including that the vapors are harmful and the product can be fatal or cause blindness if swallowed. Also, the directions on the bottle for properly flushing a potable water system can fail to adequately remove the methanol, presenting a risk of ingestion. Products containing methanol pose a poisoning hazard through inhalation or if ingested,” the USPSC release stated. Approximately 325 bottles were affected and customers who purchased the product should return it to Autozone for a refund. Chuck B 2004 Windsor
  12. It takes 2 conditions for the key pad to work. The pressure of the finger on the keypad, and the heat from your finger. Over time as the keypad is used, the pressure on the button does not release back to it's normal out position. When that happens, one of the conditions is met. Then add to that the warm sun on the keypad. That is the second condition that is met. The only fix is to replace the keypad. Been there and experienced that. Chuck B 2004 Windsor

Same for Advanced Auto, and the local NAPA parts store. But, then it really does not matter is one is careful. Chuck B 2004 Windsor
