Add Keyless Remote to Existing Essex Keypad
bmulvenna@hotmail.com replied to Patrick's topic in General Motorhome Discussion
Walter, guess I was not clear. I have no wire connected to any of the three auxiliary ports and I only have one wire in the harness that is not connected. I am thinking this wire goes to the unlock relay which is why I need to find that relay. Thanks for your input -
Add Keyless Remote to Existing Essex Keypad

Walter. Essec tech support told me and the documentation supports it that there must be a wire connected to the 9/0, 7/8, or 3/4 terminal in order to open the bay doors from the key pad. -
Add Keyless Remote to Existing Essex Keypad
bmulvenna@hotmail.com replied to Patrick's topic in General Motorhome Discussion
2094 Dynasty Good morning. We have had an issue with our Essex 1701 for years. The remote works fine unlocking and locking both the entry and bay doors. The keypad locks both entry and bay doors but only unlocks th entry door. It should unlock bay doors after pressing and additional key. There is one wire in the keypad harness not connected to the essex keypad molex connector. According to the wiring diagram there needs to be a wire connected to one of the three open slots in the molex connector for the keypad to unlock the bay doors. I verified there is no voltage on the orphan wire so I connected it to the molex connector corresponding to pressing the 9/0 key to unlock the bay doors. It did not unlock the bay doors. Does anyone know where the two relays(lock and unlock) are located. (Might even be 2 relays for each side of the coach bay doors). My guess is the orphan wire is not connected at the relay end. I think the unlock relay is good since the FOB will unlock the bay doors. Thanks for any suggestions. Mike -

We have a 2004 Dynasty with a Xantrex inverter using an RC7 remote to input the various settings for the inverter. One of the settings for the inverter is "External Shunt". I think this is only selected if there are 2 inverters. We are about to install the Victron Smart shunt and just want to make sure we don't need to change the shunt setting on the RC7. Thanks in advance.

Replaced Blower motor
bmulvenna@hotmail.com replied to bmulvenna@hotmail.com's topic in AC, Heating, and Cooling
No but that is also there and I gorilla glued it with weights to hold down while the glue dries. Perhaps I used the wrong words(openings and gaps) What I am referring to is the large void between the bottom of the dash and the top of the blower motor and on the interior side of the defrost vents. Picture attached. -

Thanks, but these are not small openings. They are gaps of 4 to 12 itches under the dashboard. -
2004 Dynasty. After replacing the dash blower motor and squirrel cage, I discovered a lot of open space under the dashboard. Any reason not to fill this void with fiberglass insulation to reduce air leaks from the front end cap? Might also reduce some road noise. Thanks in advance for comments.

Found the issue. Removed the top nut on the room cylinders after finding the sync cylinder. Activated the slide switch and both cylinders performed properly. That determined it was not a cylinder issue. Examined both mechanisms and found numerous plastic bushings worn out. Now waiting for Hwh to ship 2 sets of bushings and will replace the old bushings with a new set on each mechanism.

2004 Dynasty Diamond 4 HWH small passenger side bedroom slide won't go out. The rear cylinder does not activate while the front does causing the slide to bind. Have checked the fluid level and the 4 fuses for the HWH slides and all are good. 1 fuse for each of the 3 slides and 1 for the generator slide. Does anyone have the Hydraulic diagram or at least know where the equalizer Hydraulic cylinder is located for the small bedroom slide? I have checked under the slide cabinets, under the bath sink where the lines run thru from both cylinders, and inside the top of each bay on the passenger side of the frame rails. Pete from HWH in Arizona suggested checking the equalizer cylinder which I am having trouble locating. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Mike 2004 Dynasty

bmulvenna@hotmail.com replied to bmulvenna@hotmail.com's topic in AC, Heating, and Cooling

2004 Dynasty with Aqua hot system. All hot water faucets plug up most daily with what appears to be very small particles of calcium build-up Have drained the system twice, pumped 5 gallons of white vinegar thru the system each time. Let it sit for 4 hours each time before flushing out the vinegar. Have taken the strainers out and run only hot water for hours without strainers reducing the flow. After running only the hot water each faucet plugs up again with strainers replaced. Anyone have other ideas. Thanks Mike 2004 Dynasty
