  1. On my 2000 Diplomat it is wired directly to lamp on dash. Do you have wiring diagrams for coach ? On later models of Monaco it is wired to ecm and will turn on the warning light. If you have low coolant light on dash then the ecm is not in play. Bob U 2000 Dip
  2. I was towed to a shop in Greer SC last month. It was a 45 mile tow. FMCA set it up. The guy was GREAT. He disconnected drive shaft, removed mud flap, removed tow bar and took pictures of coach front and rear. When we got there he replaced everything and took more pictures. Nice guy and very professional. Bob U 2000 Dip
  3. I had my radiator replaced by a local radiator shop. They built a new radiator and CAC. The radiator core is brass. The cost without install was a little over $3,ooo. Bob U
  4. The shop that rebuilt my Sheppard M80 steering box is Spring Service in Greenville S.C. There phone number is 864-299-3340. Rebuilt was a little over $800. Bob U 2000 Dip
  5. Somebody suggested that I get a SCAN GAUGE D to pull codes from my ISC8.3. Does anybody have experience in pulling codes and using them to repair a problem. One comment I saw said they could not decode the code. I would like comments from this group on their experiences with this scanner. Bob U 2000 Dip
  6. I have an intermittent warning light when the coolant temp goes to 191 degrees or above. ISC8.3 engine normal temp 189 degrees. New radiator ,cac , water pump, thermostat, hoses installed 2 years ago. Have had problem before and after. Wiring diagram shows coolant temp sensor only wired to temp gauge and not to ecm. It shows warning light coming from ecm. How does the ecm gets coolant temp info ? Bob U 2000Dip
  7. Mr. Ambassador , They took it to spring service for the rebuild. I don't know if that is the name of the company. Carolina Upstate Diesel can tell you. Phone # 864-655-4446. The rebuild was $820. The repair shop had to torch the bolts to get them off as they were frozen. I did not have hardly any play before and none now. Coach has 130,300 miles on it. The pothole cracked a seal. Bob U 2000Dip
  8. Ron, It was on a bridge between mile marker 13 and 14 going north on I 85 in SC. It cracked a seal on the steering box and I lost all fluid. I see you are still full timing it. Did you attend Monaco Rally this year ? Bob U 2000 Dip
  9. Reported earlier about hitting a giant pothole in South Carolina on I85N. I was towed by a very good tow driver to Carolina Upstate Diesel in Greer,SC. They were backed up on work for 5 days but had my MH fixed on Feb 21st.I picked it up on the 24th. They removed the steer box and had it rebuilt locally. It works like a dream. This shop mainly works on MH chassis and engines. Luckly for me to find them as we were stuck in a rest area for 3 nights. I highly recommend them. Bob U 2000 Dip P.S. They charged me $1,744 for the work. Very friendly and a delight to do business with them. Bob U 2000 Dip
  10. Reported last week about losing steering after hitting large pot hole on I 85 N in South Carolina. Sheppard M80's are no longer manufactured. You have to have them rebuilt. There is NO TRW replacement for an M80. It looks like the main seal is cracked and there are seal kits available. Story will continue. Bob U 2000 Dip
  11. I need cross number for a TRW steering box to replace Sheppard box. I am broke down in South Carolina. Have cracked Steering box Bob U 2000 Dip
  12. As I reported earlier on this subject there is a pot variable resister on the back of the speedometer. It is black and has a screwdriver slot in it. Mark its position and rotate the pot back and forth to clean the resistor. Move it back to original position. Bob U 2000 Dip
  13. I have bought new axle covers (hubcap) for 2000 Dip 22.5 inch wheel from Wheel Masters. P/N 22582 Phone 1-800-325-9484. Check them out on wheelmasters.com Bob U .
  14. It would be nice to know what motorhome year and model we are discussing here. Bob U 2000 Dip
  15. I have a 2000 Dip and finally fixed the speedometer from being all over the place. On the back of the gauge there is a black pot with a screw driver slot. I marked the position of the slot. I then used a screwdriver to turn the pot back and forth to clean the variable resister. Speedo has now been working great for a year. Also the tach has a variable pot on back which also cleaned by moving it back and fourth. Bob U 2000 Dip
  16. My 2000 Dip's low fuel light comes on when I am down to 15 Gal. I have never trusted the fuel gauge. I go by the odometer. My fuel mileage is 8.1 miles/gal since I bought it new. 100 gal x8 =800 miles. I refuel around 500 miles. 7000 miles on a primary fuel filter is really pushing it. Bob U
  17. I have a 8.3 ISC 315hp that requires 22 quarts of oil. Dipstick is not accurate. Bob U 2000 Dip
  18. None. I like the latches. They are easy to engage and disengage. Bob U
  19. Have had an Avail for about 5 years. Bet tow bar I have had. Bob U 2000 Dip
  20. They do run under the coach. I have a 2000 Diplomat and to add a can of freon a year. Look at the connections at the condenser for oil around the connections. Also in front under the hood. Bob U 2000 Dip
  21. Those washers can be found at most auto parts store Bob U 2000 Dip
  22. It sounds like you have a clogged crankcase breather. Possibly a mud dobbers nest. I would check the breather tube first. It is normally next to oil filter. Bob U
  23. I had mine replaced a couple years ago. I took it to a diesel shop and they measured it and got a new one from a truck parts place. Total cost was a little over $4oo Bob U 2000 Dip ISC8.3
  24. Van, I have a generic warning lite. It can be set by coolant temp, oil pressure, intake manifold temp, engine overspeed, and fuel temp. I suspect coolant temp because it only happens when temp gauge on dash goes up a few degrees. I may have to have the codes pulled by the diesel mechanic that I use.He charges one hour at $140/hr. There has got to be a second sensor for coolant to set a warning lite. I would like to hear your take on the warning lite. Thanks Bob U 2000 Dip
