  1. Gotcha Ivan. And Richard hit the nail on the head. I have no idea who thought this over-engineered, twitchy piece of air-over-electric-powered garbage was a good idea to foist upon the unsuspecting RV community, but here we are. I did the next owner of the Wanderlodge a huge favor by making the decision to pull the trigger and do the upgrade. She flushes like a champ now.
  2. I think you mean the valve body assembly which is a pressurized air timer/logic control part, there's no separate timer or electric motor. You're welcome to any or all of it. Since there's been immediate interest, I'll keep all the parts on hand including the complete toilet with air valves for a month or so to give your daughter or anyone else who might want them time to come down and retrieve them. We're available pretty much any time this week. Give me a call or text at 678-577-3719 to arrange a day and time.
  3. Howdy all, I removed a Microflush LF-219 toilet from a Wanderlodge WB I'll be listing for sale soon, and it's available free for parts. The control valve is the part which wasn't operating, and the valve body cracked while I was attempting to repair it and they're over $600 to buy new. So I replaced it with a Sanimarin SN4 macerating toilet which was only a few hundred extra bucks and should be much more reliable for the next owner. The toilet and a bag of miscellaneous parts including about 3 previously broken and subsequently replaced valve bodies representing about $2k in repairs in the past by the previous owner. We're about 20 minutes south of the ATL airport, and it's for pickup only as I don't want to deal with the hassle of shipping it. Let me know if anyone would like it, or it's going to the dump next week. Figured I'd put it out there on here first for someone who might need some parts.
  4. Already have her out and about, enjoying the post-Labor Day emptiness at McKinney Campground at Lake Allatoona, GA. So far, it's been amazing. Really a next-level experience. Super glad we made the purchase.
  5. We're not really "typical" airline pilots. If you'd come in our house you'd see no evidence of our careers. No wooden or bent metal ground strike propellers hanging on the wall, no models of airplanes we've flown, nor prior airline epaulet and wings "I Love Me" displays anywhere to be found, and our yearly scheduling calendar we have hanging on the wall is focused on different breeds of chickens. Flying is a career, and a good one at that, but it's not our passion. Our passion is really for personal travel, whether it's by airplane, boat, car, or RV. Also our 6-year old is top priority at all times, and she always comes first in any decision we make regarding our future. I haven't flown an aircraft smaller than a DC-9/717 since the very early oughts. My wife was a demo pilot for Raytheon for a while after she was furloughed from TWA/AA, so she's much more current in the piston planes than I am. She also maintains her CFI/II/MEI and she's intending on going back to instruction and possibly doing the DE thing after she retires from SW in a few years. As a compensation for my lack of small airplane flying, I don't usually turn on the autopilot below 10k on climb out unless I want to do some sightseeing. Gotta keep those hand flying skills sharpened somehow... It'd be nice to have the VORAD system, but really it'd just be gravy. I'm super excited about picking up the Dynasty, but they've pushed back delivery until Wednesday next week because they need to replace the exhaust manifold gasket and they're having a bit of a labor shortage. This is my surprised face. Ah well, you don't want to rush a job like that anyways. I'm just glad I discovered it during the test drive so they have to take care of it at the dealership instead of it falling onto my list of things to do, which is too long already by a long ways. I like to do my own wrenching most of the time, but I really hate crawling around inside the tight confines of engine bays. Drives me nuts not having adequate room to work on something.
  6. Thanks guys, I feel very welcomed. We're bringing the coach home on the 19th and I'll try to get some pics posted. Usually I do the driving of the heavy ground equipment since I grew up on a dairy farm in northern Wisconsin and have been operating large machinery since I was about 8 years old. Not that my wife couldn't do it, mind. She does fly a 737 for a living... But somehow I'm the one who drives the bus. So far we've had an Itasca Meridian 39k, a Coachmen Freedom Express Liberty Edition travel trailer, a Wanderlodge WB with the Detroit Series 60, and now this Monaco Dynasty. It's been quite the learning experience.
  7. Gotcha Gary, look up Gullible in the dictionary to see what I look like. Lol
  8. Regarding the boarding changes, it looks like they're limiting Early Bird boarding purchases to incentivize business customers buying business class tickets at commensurate prices. We shall see how this plays out... I'm just the guy who flies the plane. Nobody ever asks me. Ha.
  9. Hadn't heard about it, you may have told me there's something new! As far as I know it's just A-B-C with C still meaning Center. But if I hear anything else I'll report back.
  10. Good morning all, You've seen me around these parts before, as I was a bidder on the lightning damaged Konigsburg system coach, but I obviously didn't win the auction. Great news though! Next week we bring home a 2007 Dynasty Palace III. I'm sure you'll be seeing me around asking all kinds of newbie questions, and I'd like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and assistance. A bit of history about myself: My wife and I are both pilots at Southwest, and we have a 6-year old daughter who is the light of our lives. We live just south of the ATL airport and our intention is to travel the country with our daughter and thoroughly immerse her in our country's beautiful scenery and rich history. Looking forward to meeting you all sometime, somewhere. Noel Barlau
  11. Brett, no malice is intended. You've been straightforward and wonderful to us, and I didn't mean to cause any offense. What I was saying was that there was only one picture on the Copart listing where someone who had only seen those photos before bidding could see that there were open spaces where the control heads would normally be. This could mean that if someone were to bid on it without going to look at it, they might think that the ENGINE NO COMM might be the only issue and completely miss the only clue on the Copart site that more might be wrong than just that. As you said, the control heads are all present and accounted for inside the coach, they're all in a box waiting to be reinstalled. Sorry for the confusion, and I apologize for the lack of clarity earlier. What I'm super curious about is if Jim bid on it without knowing about the multiplex controller issues. I'm trying to learn how these auctions work, and also how people who partake in auctions think so I can try and be an informed bidder next time if there is one. Kevin and I took an entire day out of our lives to go inspect the coach to make sure we know what we were getting into, and it perplexes me how someone could spend a hundred grand after fees on something they don't know more about than just the sparse photographic evidence they have to work with. I'm absolutely curious as to the train of thought on this one, and I recognize it's probably rude of me to ask about it, but it's important enough to me that I'm doing it anyways. Noel
  12. My question for Jim is if you knew the extent of the damage to the multiplex control systems before bidding on the coach? Also whether you went to inspect it beforehand and saw all the control heads pulled out, or whether it was purchased sight unseen because you thought the only problem was the ENG NO COMM failure which is a rather easy fix comparatively? I think the Copart pictures were highly misleading in that manner, you'd really have to be looking to notice the control heads were missing. It would have been extremely helpful to have more information on the mechanical and electrical issues for bidders on the Copart site before bidding it up so high.
  13. Shows "Sold" now. We'll have to see if it pops up anywhere else. 'Twas a good run, an enjoyable dream while it lasted. Too bad we couldn't have come up with a permanent fix to the chronic issues with this fine line of coaches.
  14. It just went for $87.5k and it wasn't to us. Still shows "On Approval" so we'll just have to wait and see if it shows up again for Round 4.
  15. Hi everyone, this is Kevin's friend, my name is Noel and I live just south of the Atlanta airport. I'm a Captain at Southwest Airlines, and my wife is a First Officer at same. We have a 6 year old daughter who is the light of our lives. Figured I should say Hi eventually, but wanted to wait until I was sure about a few things regarding the auction. Thanks to everyone who has given input and done research into this issue, I really hope it's a solvable problem whether it's us who do it or someone else. These beautiful coaches have no business being put out to pasture because of a lack of parts. Also huge thanks to Brett, who has been really great to us and has forwarded us all the research he's done so far to try and get the thing working again. My intention (and Kevin's as far as I know) is to fix this coach and keep it as a personal RV for our shared family use. I'm the "money guy" and Kevin is the "brains" of the team. We'd like to be the ones who come up with an "open source" solution which anyone can implement. If I'd have won the coach I'd have made videos on the process and posted them on my YouTube channel. Kevin was going to post the technical side of the solution on here in thanks to those who have done so much legwork on this before we came along. Our intention was to fix the problems and post the solution with detailed steps so anyone could follow them. But something weird is going on with the bids on this coach... I believe the insurance company is playing silly buggers with us all trying to maximize their profits, and I'm not playing their games. It's worth only what someone is willing to pay for it considering the massive gamble to repair that it actually is, and it's actually worth less to me now than it was 3 weeks ago simply for my loss of time and effort - as we all know, as a coach sits idle things magically go wrong all on their own. Not to mention with the recent massive drops in used RV prices, at 90k (plus fees!) this thing is on par with a decent Dynasty with low miles and a clean title. Stupid money, and nobody is biting at that price. Surprise, surprise. It's now back up for auction for Round 3 this Friday. Good luck to all bidders. We will be there, but with a lower maximum bid than on the initial round, and if it goes to Round 4, my bid will be lower still. My cards are now on the table so that the insurance company knows they're losing potential dollars every time they deal a round. ...I guarantee you they're watching this thread, and likely have an entire division dedicated to bid rigging in the interest of minimizing their losses. We shall see what happens. I'm patient like a stone, and have already said goodbye to this opportunity in my mind on the first round loss, so have nothing to lose at this point.
