powerpro2000
Found this stray wire hanging in the battery compartment when I was doing battery maintenance. It seems like a low voltage, low current power wire for something. Does anyone know what it is for? '09 Signature.
96 EVO
Possibly the Battery Temperature Sensor (BTS).
powerpro2000
Thanks, but don't think so. The battery temp sensor is in place between the batteries.
Ivan K
Do you have a solar controller? They need a temp sensor too, usually, but it would have to be 2 lead wire.

That is DEFINITELY a BTS. Note the flat wire data cable. You may have a new one or what…but it is a BTS and once you extricate the other end, a phone cable plug. You have a Magnum inverter. It goes on the most rearward Negative post of the back battery. Some folks have removed them and “glue” then to the battery case as there were some “feedback” issues that damaged or gave the Magnum some issues…. That is it…..just need to find where the current BTS cable goes. It should be plugged into the BTS port on the Magnum. Now, of you have the TWO Magnum setup….then that might be a “not used” one but…both Magnums should have a BTS…and you just stack them on the rear negative. Take that to the bank….. powerpro2000
OK, on my way to the bank. The coach batteries above the chassis batteries have a BTS in place. The chassis battery does not currently have one in place. Do you think this one goes to the chassis battery?
96 EVO
Unlikely. If you have BTS plugged into your inverter(s), take a blow dryer to it for a few min, then check BTS temp on your remote (TECH- TEMPERATURES).
