Donflem
How often do you go to clean your spark arrestor on 10 K generator? I was just reading the service manual on it and it says every 250 hours I didn’t even know I had a spark arrestor lol apparently got to take the whole top of the generator off to do it. I was just curious how often the group did it? Thanks in advance, Don.
96 EVO
I'm at about 350hrs and I haven't touched it!
Ivan K
I cleaned it at 3500 only because I had it all apart and not much black dust came out out of a 12.5kw. Pretty sure it wasn't done before we got it.
Donflem
I’m at 4654 don’t know when it was done last. I think I might just do it.
Bill R
I clean every oil change, but that is on an 8K unit. The spark arrestor is easily accessible from underneath.

If that's pipe thread, I'd investigate using an elbow and a length of pipe to extend it out the bottom. Would make blowing it out easy.
Donflem
Thanks guys I did it yesterday. It was fun especially when I got it all back together and found the spark arrestor bolt in my pocket.😳🤷🏼♂️🤬

Considering how little came out, I won't worry about that until there's a reason to open it up again, as long as the engine runs clean.
