2007 Diplomat - need 25 TOOTH Slide gear...no new ones. Help and Thanks.

Recommended Posts

My slide gear is slipping on my front roadside slide 14 ft of my 2007 Monaco diplomat paq. I have had a number of calls into shops and they all don't seem to want to work on it cuz they come up with a reason not to keep the appointment. I had a tech out to my coach and he said it's too big a job to do on the road they need a forklift or other equipment. Any suggestions I'm in Southern California in Acton I'm getting stonewalled by everybody. Please advise

Sorry if a duplicate post but I don't know if anyone followed up on the original post.

  • Tom Cherry changed the title to 2007 Diplomat - Slide gear information needed. Thanks.

There are many different ones. You need the model of the slide. If you have a Power Gear slide, attached is a picture of what to look for. So more information is needed to figure out which one you need.

Russ, where might this info be and should it be accessible. I didn't see any labels near the gear in my original photo. TIA Joel

Found on our parts list some slide gear info but still can't find out if 15,18 or 21 teeth after on my coach. Is there a work around to finding the correct gear without getting in there and removing the original gear

There should be a sticker on the motor, with that you might be able to figure out the slide system itself.   There may also be a controller specific to the system that might help identify.  Look at any other parts you can see to try and find a part number.   Post any numbers you come up with and I'll try and help source info

Most of the info I've accumulated is older for my coach but may be helpful.  Attached is a service manual for Power Gear slides.  It does have info on how to troubleshoot and service.

If you do find a part number on a part do a search in this document to see if you get hits.

You need the specifics.  Don’t know the “logistics” of where the motor and such are.  HOWEVER many of us own and use a “camera”.  See the photo.  It can be used, wirelessly, with a PC or phone or twblet.  I use my iPad for a larger screen and more detail.  The camera “box” has a wireless transmitter….and it shows up as a “router” or like a wireless connection you might use at a restaurant or library or such.  You “connect” to it.  Then the camera’s lens appears on the screen.  You watch that and  then insert it into a “blind” cavity.  Great for looking to see how stuff is attached.  If you can snake the camera snd see the motor or drive…..you will get PN and such.  Saved many of us a LOT of work .

VERY reliable,  the black cord is sort of stiff, but flexible….so you can prebend or move or twist around.  If you ever need to pull an HDMI cable from a device….and not remove it….you can move the camera behind it and then see your hand snd the HDMI end and the “hole” and it is easy to plug in.

Amazon sells them. This is the one I ordered….I think Frank McElroy recommended it….probably others out there.  Just look at the ratings.  There is an LED light to provide illumination

Good Luck

Thanks gentlemen, the info Tom is great but I need to buy the camera. I'm getting worse in mobility so I'm going to leave that up to my tech. Nice guy let's meet buy parts if I can get cheaper etc. JIM, that's a great manual, it should help alot when I get to the replacement. It may even help the tech.  You guys are a big help, thanks very much AGAIN.  JOEL

I was hoping someone with an 07 Dip had the issue and knew how many teeth were on my gears. I guess it's run it course so I'll inquire elsewhere for hopefully an exact answer. Thanks all e can close out this thread

As follow up to my previous discussion on my slide gears. I had a technician take out the gear installed by Monaco and it turns out to be a 25 tooth. Lippert is the only one available and they don't have it. Does anyone know where else I can look to replace a 25-tooth slide gear. Or who made the original. There is no previous discussion on who may have made and distributed the 25 tooth gear.  How about the salvage Yards, can you tell by sight or measurement if a used gear is worth it.  TIA Joel

NEWS FLASH...  Joel, with just sheer DETERMINATION....  is THIS what you need....???

https://www.unitedrv.shop/product/gear-pack-er-w-roll-pins-assembly

I wrote the REST and then just decided NOT TO GIVE UP....I found a lot below...but NOBODY had them in stock...

The correct PN is, if this is right...  014-140418

IF SO....you had better check it out and order...this, as far as I can TELL is the only thing that seems TO FIT the limited info that you provided......but again...I used 25 Teeth and Lippert and Slide Gear and just kept hammering away and got info off various sites....

Now, I do request that you read the rest.  As I searched, I kept adding links....but in the end.. I backed off and tried a NEW search.

Let us KNOW...

BUT if it works...then please read what I wrote below...as it is what one must do to find things...

Joel.  NEED PART NUMBER. Pictures with measurements of a TAPE MEASURE along side it.

However, I'd get on the PHONE.  NWRVSUPPLY has 4 pages of HITS or items if you use SLIDE GEAR.

https://www.nwrvsupply.com/?s=slide+gear&post_type=product&type_aws=true

NOW, there are many with the number of TEETH.  ARE YOU SURE about the TEETH.  There are 15 and 24.  However, there is a "common one" and all it has is the Part Number.  You MUST have the OEM Part Number.  SO, if you have that...then start to search...for example...

Have you GOOGLED "25 Tooth Lippert Slide Gear"  That  gets a BUNCH of hits.  over 20 or so...and some are the same.  BUT...none are 25....Here is ONE..  I counted and it is 26...  Does it look the same? NO IDEA? Will it fit" No IDEA.

With a GEAR, you need the OEM or you need pictures and dimension of the overall diameter and the shaft size.  Does it have Allen Screws or a Keyslot or both.

WAY TOO LITTLE info for us to help.

Get MORE specifics than "25 Tooth Lipper Slide Gear"....

OK...curiosity...  HERE IS A LIPPERT PART NUMBER...

140418

https://store.susqrv.com/index.php?p=detail&item=5520418

NOW....is THIS what you need?

I'll call the tech who had the gear and is searching. I'll get the info and pix needed. This one Tom, looks very close but he has the actual gear assembly so I can't match up exactly. I'm going to get shaft measurements, space between holes actual gear count etc I asked him to bring me the part so I can check correctly. Thanks Joel

140418 looks very similar from my recollection when he removed it but that's the issue. Tech said everyone is out of stock on this particular tooth count

Good.  It appears that Lippert had TWO PN for the same part..or maybe there was one that they sold and one that their distributors sold.  The 140418 gets HITS...and there was a CROSS reference that said REAL PN is 014-140418.

If that is NOT the one, then you need to get the PN that the Tech said that you need and Lippert doesn't make or doesn't have in stock.  THEN SIT DOWN AND SPEND a lot of time googling.

Let us know....
