  1. When Monaco started make their own doors, they lost all the additions that the PTL doors had. Just cheapened the coach. Is the door in the picture a PTL door?

  3. FWIW, back in earlier days Monaco used doors manufactured by a door vendor before making their own doors.
  4. Go to the download section of the monacoers site to find several tips you can download for front door adjustments. Chuck B 2004 Windsor
  5. It is people like you that makes me blessed to be a part of the Monacoers family. At 81 years of age I look back in my life to reflect the various disasters I went through. Everything from a sleet break to a couple of tornados. During that time I lived in Memphis, Tn. Back then I had to help my elderly parents who lived in Water Valley, Ms. Once I secured my home in Memphis, I traveled 90 miles to water Valley to deliver a generator to my parents so they could live out the sleet break. Thank you for sharing on the group. Chuck B
  6. There is a business called Diesel Recon located in Memphis, TN. They sell rebuilt Cummins engines. I would spring for one of their rebuilt engines . That way you will not be at risk for the unknown issues of another engine.
  7. Hurricane Ian is due to come ashore in Tampa in a few days. Wondering if Florida especially the Tampa area will be back to normal to by the time the group is due there? If not, will there be a alternate site?
  8. Stop it, No Way!!! You can stop it by not reading any replies to the subject.
  9. You are correct, but we are dealing with a possible surge or lightning strike. I would swap the one with a known good working one to be sure.
  10. In the 2004 Windsor, the fuse in question is located under the battery maintainer. There are 4 fuses in a horizontal row. It is the first fuse on the right. They do not look like what one might call a normal fuse.
  11. As far as a cord reel is concerned, most folks pull the cable All The Way Out when using the cord reel. As time passes the contacts in that position get dirty. My advice is to pull the cord all the way out and then retract the cord reel a half a turn to provide a new area on the reel. Thank you Ted. You are one of the few who will reply with a thanks for help or suggestions on this group.

  13. You are correct, the manual says 40 inch pounds, sorry.
  14. I have had several windshields replaced. On one piece windshields the coach needs to sit on a level surface. Once replaced, Monaco recommends that the coach sit for 24 hours for the sealant to cure. Those instructions comes from factory service centers.
  15. One thing to remember when dealing with windshields is Do Not Use sealants that cure hard that are used on auto windshields. Use sealants that cure SOFT so the glass can sort of float in their gaskets. That way you will not have to deal with stress cracks.
  16. I would not want to have on my conscious that I gave a IOTA to someone who installed it on their coach and it caught fire and burned his coach down or the possible loss of life. Lets get real folks.
  17. On the 2004 Windsor the converter adapter is located on the back of the Sony monitor where the input jacks are.
  18. An ISL 400 holds 6 gallons of oil. The local law enforcement would respond to the scene. They would make sure you would be responsible for the clean up according to EPA standards. There are plenty of Speedco's all over the USA. The older you age the more you will be willing to use their service.
  19. I would Never Use a easy oil drain plug because if I would go over a curb or such type of raised something in my path that might snatch off the drain plug, I would loose all the oil on the crank case. I would also be responsible for the clean up. There are a lot of Jiffy Lube type dealers for trucks that can change the oil for a reasonable price. JMHO.
  20. A NAPA parts store should be able to match it up for you.
  21. There is a gel like substance in the bottom of the sensor. If you remove it you destroy the sensor.
  22. In the early 2000's I toured both Roadmaster plants located in Oregon and Indiana. Roadmaster used complete front axle assemblies manufactured in Dana axle plants. Your 2002 coach is two decades old. I would say that there are not many 2002 Monaco Dynasty's left today especially one's in need of front axle parts. Inventory is a huge expense for any business. Therefore finding replacement parts is a challenge. I would give Scott Zimmer of Source Manufacturing a call. 541-935-0308 If anyone can point you in a direction, he can. Good luck,
  23. The Essex KE 1700 series keypad requires two actions to operate the keypad when the button is pushed. The first action is the pressure on the button to make contact and the second action is the heat from the finger pushing the button. After years of use the button does not release when pushed. The sun shinning on the keypad provides the heat. Then the two conditions are met. That is why the keypad will operate opening and closures at random times. That is why I recommend replacing the keypad.
