  1. We've made the trip across a few times as well. In 10 years I may have put 50,000 miles on her, but have not stayed away from home more than a month at a time. That usually means mostly taking the freeways. We really don't have any destination in mind and it doesn't necessarily mean coast to coast, however this time it might be fun to take some roads less traveled. Just looking for some ideas on great campgrounds that all you have experienced. There is a lot of beautiful country out there to explore.
  2. So we're thinking about another big trip across the states sometime in the near future. We have nothing definite as far as destination or places along the way. On previous trips we encountered some phenomenal campsites that stood far above the norm. Places that you would just spend a couple nights and make day trips from. What comes to mind are places like the KOA in Petoskey in Michigan or Pacific Shores in Newport Oregon. Our coach is not a good boon docker, and craves 50 amps and fresh water like an addict, so seriously off the beaten path places won't work without resources. I'm looking for suggestions from the group on campsites from your travels that really stood out in your mind. Thanks in advance.
  3. Snow...........What a beautiful sight on Christmas morning. Here in the central valley of California its about 33 degrees and dense fog. Maybe 250 ft. visibility, and not worthy of of photograph. One of the heaters in the house decided not to work on Christmas. I'll delay the service call till tomorrow. It's been said hindsight is 20-20, and I am looking forward to having 2020 behind me. I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
  4. I didn't know exactly where I might post this, so here goes. Today being Thanksgiving, its a good time not only to gather with friends and family to share time and a meal together, but also to reflect on the blessings in your lives. One of those things I'm thankful for, is this group of people who are so willing to share their expertise on the many technical aspects of our coaches . I haven't been a member for that long and I will chime in if I feel it could help someone, but the level of knowledge here that I have gleened in the past is incredible. Its definitely a frustration solver. I just wanted to say Thank-You and have a Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who participate in this forum.
  5. I don't know what style of fastening system you have on your dual wheels. I'm not sure when the industry changed wheel mounts. Your coach may have come from the factory with the different wheels. If you have the pilot style that incorporated 1 wheel stud and a flanged style nut that fastens both wheels then a barrier between the dissimilar wheels will work. If your set up uses the the wheel stud with thimbles for the inner steel wheel and a chamfered nut to hold the outer aluminum wheel on, I would recommend then that you don't run the different wheels as a combination. I have had plenty issues on some older style truck and trailer wheel set ups using steel inner with the polished aluminum outers. I was never able to find out why, but the thimbles would break and the outer wheel and tire would come off. Bad situation. I switched back to all aluminum duals or all steel duals and never mixed the 2 again.
  6. Here's about the best shot I can get without parking it over the pit. All the air is out and its sitting level in its lowest position.
  7. I've made ground contact with my stamped steel pan on the ISM too. The drain plug has a new angle on it. In fact I've bent the 5" flex pipe that crosses the pan a few times. Pulled it clean off the turbo as well. There have been times where I wound up crossing a swale with too much depth. Could not always cross at an angle. After the second time, I thought I should remedy the situation. I installed a couple of rollers on the rear hitch, which only helped a small amount. The big fix was having a pair of large rollers and saddles fabricated and installed in the vertical pockets in the rear frame where some motorhomes have their leveling jacks. Mine has the air bag leveling system, so that seemed like a good place for them. I set the height by a stringline from bottom of the tag axle tire to the very back. I set and bolted the roller height where the they would impact ground before the the exhaust pipe or the lowest part of the pan. I have felt them touch on occasion, but sure am happy how they have saved the components. The setup has been on for a few years now and worked well.
  8. Most air compressors on Cummins engines source their air from the intake. Given that the air is already boosted by the turbocharger, there is only a slim chance fuel would ever make it inside your compressor. I believe someone else already mentioned the air dryer. You could inspect the exhaust side dryer for fuel residue.
  9. We keep our Dynasty in a 66’ x 50’ hangar portion of our shop. Instead of floor drains we simply put a slight slope on the floor. I’m thinking it was maybe 2” in fifty feet. Hangar door is 50’ x 16’. There’s a 50’ apron outside with the same slope. Everything washes out pretty well. Occasionally need a squeegee where the contractor shorted a little concrete and caused a slight puddle. Have full hookups inside and out.
  10. I have found that when the steps do not retract all the way that the triple glides that are like cabinet hardware become gunked from incorrect lubricants and a mixture of dust that can cause them to freeze up. Spray the the runner glides with B-12 Chemtool (carburetor cleaner). It contains Acetone so don't spray it on any painted areas as it will melt the paint. Move the slides that you can by hand and wipe up the mess with paper towels. Repeat the process until the slide are clean. Get into the lower as well as the upper part of the slides. They have small ball bearings. Make sure to try the steps with closing the door and then opening it. When you are finished use a dry graphite spray for a lubricant. PS use the straw tips on the spray cans to get exactly where you need to. Hope that works for you.
  11. On my "09 Dynasty the outside tv lift was from a company in Seattle, WA. called Lift It Inc. Their web site http://www.liftmytv.com They produced both flip down and drop down tv slides. From the web site it sounds like they only carry a minimal amount of parts and no longer build these units. I have had the same issues years ago with a broken tooth on the track causing misalignment. You might have to consider a retrofit from another company. Look at Smith Richards Inc. I have not had any experience with them but found them on one of my searches. Xlr8ting1 09' Dynasty
