diys1
My oil gauge on the dash is working erratic, it is pegged all the way to the right then at times it will start working but not often. I am thinking a loose connection or possibly the sending unit. I have located A sending unit on the oil filter side of the block above the starter that I think may be the oil pressure sending unit. Does anyone know if that sending unit is the oil and if not where is the oil sending unit. 2003 ISC 330 Cummins Thanks JimJ
Dr4Film
It is possible that you may have a loose ground affecting the gauge although usually the dash gauges are grounded in series such that other gauges would be affected too.
TigerMar
Hi JimJ, I know this may be just a fluke, but I was having the same problem in my ISL . It was intermittent but always sprang back. I then got a check engine light and the error code said replace the CCV filter. I did this (on my coach very easy) and the problem with the gauge ceased. Not sure if the filter change was the reason for the problem fix, but have you changed the CCV filter in a while? gary
diys1
Trying to find my oil pressure gauge problem I have put a signal tracer on the wire on the gauge then receiver on the wire at the sending unit and nothing. Bummer. I tightened all the connections at the gauge. Now I don't know if it is the wire to the sending unit, wrong sending unit, or signal tester not going that far. Does anyone know where the sending unit for the oil gauge is on a 03 ISC Cummins? The one I am testing is above the starter and I think this is the right one. Loose ground sounds like my problem but I have tightened the connections. Could be a wire loose in the connecter. Gary I think your coach has different wiring setup than mine. Thanks for any help JimJ
BennieH
On our 03 Camelot with the ISC350, there are 2 oil pressure sending units. the one on the oil filter is connected to the ECU and there is another sending unit on the top of the engine near the front that is to the gauge. Found out that the wires were flexing and breaking when I changed the sensor. Redid the connections and rerouted the wires to support them better than by the connections. I'll try to go out and take a photo of the location. Edited April 15, 2021 by BennieH Added Photo
bobdinsmore
My 2000 Diplomat ISC also has two senders as described by BennieH, and I similarly had an intermittent gauge. If my memory serves me, the slip-on connector at the oil filter mount needed to be squeezed a little bit to make a better connection.
diys1
Thanks everyone that replied. As I said before I had no signal at the sending unit by the oil filter. BernieH said his is on top the engine above the manifold so I traced the wire with signal tracer and found another sending unit that is connected to the gauge. I have not been able to work on it due to some health issues in my family. I think This has led me to the sensor that I think is the problem so when able I will solve my oil pressure issues. Thanks again JimJ
Mike B in TN
Anyone know the part number for the sending unit on the top?

I do remember that I got it from Summit Racing Auto parts. Was not too expensive as I remember.
