  1. I concur. The fronts were much larger than previous front shocks we've had, and they work great.
  2. About 7 years ago I had a custom radio panel made for my '02 Knight by Custom Instrument Panels (http://www.custominstrumentpanels.com/), They did a wonderful job and at that time it cost $75.
  3. Our ISB is the same way. Our manual says not to prefill the filters, I assume for fear of contamination, but I have never been able to get the thing started without doing so.
  4. The manual for our 2002 Knight states there are three grease fittings on the steering shaft. I removed the cover over the shaft below the dashboard and can only see two. Anyone know where the third is? Seems to me there should be one where the column tilts, but I don't see how to access that area. Thanks. Jim
  5. Thanks, Pat. Yes, I think my boating buddies were primarily interested in stabilization, but we use our coach frequently enough that I'm not too concerned about that. Thanks for the tip about the funnel. That should work fine. Jim Thanks Richard! That fits the DK jug? Cool, I already have one of those! What size DK jug do you use that the device fits?
  6. This discussion has been very interesting to me, and I have invested in a couple of additives to try. A couple of questions: Some of my boating buddies highly recommend PRI-D, and I haven't seen that mentioned for use in our motorhomes. Any thoughts? Also, what tricks have you come up with for adding additives to your tank? Some bottles and some fuel fillers don't seem very compatible. Thanks. Jim
  7. Thanks for the info. I don't think I could lift a 5 gallon pail of oil!
  8. And rightfully so. Not in mine, surprisingly. Thanks. I crawled under mine and took another look, and that diff housing is huge! I bought three gallons.
  9. How do I know how much gear oil to buy to change the oil in our differential? I can't find the capacity anywhere in the RV owner manual or in the Roadmaster lubrication guide which came with the motorhome. According to the equipment list we have a Dana S150S. Stamped on the diff housing is "Spicer 360CF102". The rear axle is rated at 13,500 lb. The only online reference I can find seem to indicate it takes 24 pints of oil??!! Seems like a lot to me. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  10. We had moderate results with Fresh Cab, but the peppermint oil on cotton balls has worked well for us. We put them in little plastic jello cups with holes punched in the lids.
  11. That's certainly true, Dennis. I didn't say I thought it was beautiful, only relatively inconspicuous. I concur. I installed a 20" with 15 lb force. And to another inquiry, yes, 10 mm balls.
  12. I installed mine on the outside of the door and we think it is pretty inconspicuous. We are very happy with it.
  13. I'm sure we would be pleased with your work, Ernie. It just isn't in the cards for us to travel to your neck of the woods.
  14. When this happened to me it was not low voltage but an open neutral at the pedestal. But I agree your situation sounds more like low voltage. I also agree with David's comment that the surge protector is doing its job. DON'T BYPASS IT!
  15. I recently changed the shocks on my 2002 Knight 30PBD. I replaced worn out Konis with Bilsteins from Source Engineering (http://sourcerv.com/) . Those guys are intimately familiar with Monaco suspension and have shocks specifically chosen for your individual coach. I couldn't be happier with the new shocks; they have improved the ride considerably. I did the job myself and it wasn't too bad. In the case of my coach I used the hydraulic leveler jacks to raise the tires off the ground, then supported the coach with jack stands. I used a bottle jack under the axles to make minor adjustments up and down to line up the holes on the coach with those on the shocks. The hardest part was removing the nuts from the bolts at the shock mounts. My 1/2" drive air impact wasn't strong enough, but my neighbor's 1/2" cordless impact was.
  16. Thanks Chris. The opening on one side of the hole in the shaft is a little elongated, but the rest of the hole is nice and round. Say, you wouldn't happen to know what kind of pin is used in the spur gear of that system would you? I've been using slotted tension pins, but I noticed the two beveled gears use coiled pins, which I think would be quite a bit stronger. Thanks.
  17. Yeah, I know. I couldn't find the screws I wanted in stainless. But the original screws--also not stainless--lasted 18 years, so if these last that long they will have outlived the coach!
  18. Thanks, Steven. Yes, that is the same as mine. Thanks for letting me know the proper term. As I wrote I already replaced all the old screws with new screws, not rivets, but I did seal it with Pro Flex.
