  1. Not sure, was going to call Peterbuilt this morning but I know they are going to want a part number of some sort, did you change any of you're? And if so what brand/ number ? Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  2. Having the second vehicle is the best spare parts in my opinion, unhook, take a bag of cloths, book into a nice hotel and don't get stressed, call road side assistance and whatever happens happens, You only can control so much.if it is broken that bad someone can have it! It is insured!! Anyone have any luck on fitting /air line and firestone air part numbers? Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  3. I like the spare air bag idea, does anyone have the part number/fitting sizes for the firestone air bag,I looked in my spec sheet and no luck, other than climbing underneath which I am not a fan of even with all the air out . Thanks in advance Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  4. Morning I thought of something else last night when I was thinking about our trip to Iron man Tempe Arizona, it is a long journey from Northern Ontario, been done a few times, I put on new steering tires, drives and tag are coming up on 5 years, so I am going to carry one of the steering tires (rubber soft spare) as a spare and lay it down in the bed of my Dodge Ram, bikes and othe gear on top. Going to purchase a soft top from Boulder Colorado to keep everything out of the elements. Pray that we don't flat out but if we do call road side assistance ( CAA RV plus) have coffee and have the service truck put the spare on the rim, carry 3/4 inch socket and rachet with a 4 foot bar so I can re check after 100 miles or so, it can be nicely stored in the box of the truck as well. 5. Road side assistance, hopefully good enough plan that they will tow for at least 150 miles, as John mentioned the emergency fund. Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  6. Thought I would add to the post, it is 90 degrees outside, you are working the motor, running at 200 degrees or even climbing higher when on a hard pull to me is normal, as soon as you back off on the fuel and or come down a long grade and temp drops between 185 / 190 that to me is perfectly normal, anyone else? Hope that helps Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  7. Best fish and chips! Nice fish, going to get myself some Walleye tomorrow! Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  8. Jeff Hope all is well, I found a place in Alberta that I purchased parts for my Aqua Hot, ask for Steve, 1 780 998 2736, I am away from my paper work and cannot remember the name of the company. Might be able to long shot but he may have some contacts . Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  9. I spoke with Gail from Norcold recall department, my fridge has had all the current recalls done, last one was last June 15 , 2020, seals and doors are all good, keeps everything nice and cool, I am not in 100 plus degree weather, in Tempe Arizona Nov/Dec this year for the Ironman, will not be that hot so going to wait a bit longer before switching it out. Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  10. John little off topic, did you replace your Norcold refrigerator and or any upgrades to it? Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  11. Yes little pricey , would be approx $ 600 usd
  12. Has been 5 weeks and the my original Alternator returned rebuilt, installed today, tach is working and Alternator is charging! Just to echo what has been said many times on this forum and for my 99 Signature it was the right thing to do. Rebuild was $ 750.00 cnd. Dixie Electric Ltd. Concord, Ontario, Canada , dixieelectric.com for those who may need assistance when traveling in Canada. would have been a quicker turn around but parts take longer than usual these days. 13. Thanks Roy,I will open the cover on the ceiling and clean all ends. Amazing what the gremlins can do over couple months. Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  14. The one I pulled out was a Bosch, the new one had a German name on it, never thought to write it down. I don't believe so but again never thought to ask him. Supplier- Alberta Coach and Chassis Ltd, Steve Horseman , 780 998 2736, first time dealing with him, seemed very knowledgeable, 20 years of servicing. It was cheaper quicker then Aqua hot tthemselves (USA) Wayne Hulsemann , phone with auto correct! Never thought to ask about a rebuild
  15. $ 700.00 cnd for the motor, and $ 400.00 cnd for the solenoid included 2 shipping right to the house.
  16. Thanks Richard Will try that tomorrow. Yes I did try that in the past, just not getting power to the thermostat at times Thanks Wayne
  17. Thought I would share the out come of the Aqua hot trouble shooting escapade! Thought I better document this for future reference hopefully it may help someone else out. Started off with no power getting to the unit, opened the front drivers side panel outside and checked 12 volt fuse aqua hot, good, took the cover off the Aqua hot and the ignition fuse far right 10 amp, blown! , tried it again and blew again, Ivan mentioned to test power at the plug C5 and C8 and we had power (electronic control unit) took complete unit out and the fuel solenoid 12volt wires were broken away from the plastic and you could see inside the solenoid, ordered a new one and a new burner motor,it was the original motor (Black) new ones are silver, Put the new parts in , new fuse turned it on and nothing. Started process off elimination, unplugged motor ,unplugged coil and turned it on ,fuse was good, plugged in coil turned it on and blew the fuse, the wire under the coil must be original as well and was broken/cracked, fixed it up hopefully it will last for a few more years. Aqua hot running great, all zones working. I do have a question in regards to the front thermostat, at times it will power up other times just stubborn, I have a newer one 5 button that I put on the phone cable and it will say err and then put the old one back on and way we go, seems like the signal is weak or what ? Any help be appreciated, I have read so many threads on this all over the internet not sure what to believe at this point. Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  18. I believe so,it looks exactly the same as the ones in all the drawings and everything that I have seen on line for our Rigs, taking the new one back and sending the old one out for a rebuild.at this point not in a hurry to get out with it, was suppose to use it on a project next week but going to stay in a hotel and not rush things, waiting for new Aqua hot motor and fuel coil should arrive next week. The alternator I bet is the original and it is also original Aqua hot motor. My friend owned it for 14 years,he never did any of those repairs. So 14 years and I have owned it for 4 years, so 18 years later starting to do some of those larger items, Rad will be next spring. Thought about a fifth wheel again, did that a few times, love the Monaco! Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  19. Your correct, it is the same manufacturer, model, all of the above ,just seems to be an issue with it.I am going to send the old one back to be rebuilt as well. Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  20. You know your stuff John, another alternator is on its way, we have a great relationship with our client's so not a big deal to get things done, they had one left so it will be shipped and in hand tomorrow. Thanks again Wayne 1999 Signature Caesar
  21. Everything is correct at the back as it should be, waiting to hear back from technical support to why there are two labeled duvac, they need to tell us which one should be ignition without sparking like it does when you try to hook it up.all the drawings are correct I think they labeled this alternator wrong and or something wrong with it,going to wait for them to call back then go with their suggestion, may need to be bench tested. Thank John
  22. The answer all the question's is yes, when we hook the ignition terminal up it seems to be a dead short Thanks Wayne
  23. John, new alternator came with both small posts labeled Duvac, old alternator had duvac on one side and ignition on the other? We called Wilson tech support and they said one side was for ignition and the other duvac, have you run into this before? Thanks Wayne
