  2. We are finally getting power onto the property this week so that will make life easier, hopefully building in the spring, enjoy the trip north Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser Chuck Lots of correspondence in regards to the Norcold fridges,as you have read mine is 23 years old,has had the recall updates, just not running properly on AC, probably would work on propane but not the way I would like to go while boon docking for a month,to much propane ,do not like what I have read over the years in regards to these fridges and some of the incidents, so something not running right I turned the power off and bought the portable unit until I figure things out, safety first Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  3. Thanks Ivan I bought a portable fridge/freezer today,$1200.00 cdn on sale for $900.00,I am at our property on the Lake in Nova Scotia so it was not hard to find one with all the Marine suppliers, it may be great for boon docking, that's what we have been doing for the last 2 weeks ,in saying that with new batteries and all I think that's why the fridge went on the blink.23 years, good run, I think I will take it out and eventually go to residential, have the other unit for boon docking and put it in the basement tray for travel. I will let you know how it works. Thanks for reaching out Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  4. Morning Tom we went away from the coach for the weekend, shut everything down, turned fridge back on late afternoon and this morning not cooling, going to take the plunge to the Samsung 17cf,I was looking online this morning and seems there are only 17.5 cf,does that effect the overall dimensions? I will take some measurements to confirm, going to buy a 12 volt freezer/fridge to get by for next couple weeks until I can figure this out. Ivan has similar coach, did you switch yours over in your 2000 signature? Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  5. Just to clarify, it will not without power,I already had the 8 volt batteries connected, inverter was off so I just left the fridge on so that all the food would not spoil while I waited for the company to bring out the correct batteries, they were really embarrassed, I didn't even give them their other batteries back,I told them when I get time, their response, no problem,we are all good now, have to watch everything and everyone now days. 6. Just to let everyone know, Tom is a rock star !!! I did a double check because everything went sideways today and they sold me 8 volt batteries, note to self you have to do everything yourself and or use our site for proper direction I.e. guys like Tom. They are bringing me the batteries, no damage to the inverter, it is off, only the fridge is running on propane and all other items are turned off. Thanks again Tom,I thought I was crazy,I know I hooked them up correctly, even had the MD double che k my work, she is way smarter then me Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  7. Thanks Tom,I double checked and they are 6 volt, 3 caps on top, does the inverter need a reboot? Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  8. STUCK!

Eco what frank said, tag up,back out, shovel and 2x6,2x8 better under tag and right behind drives, get a pull backwards from the rear hitch by,lots of hardware around a race track, spark up the grill and cold ones someone will be eager to help! Heck I would be all over that! Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  10. Interesting, would be hard to argue a case against a person with 20 years experience in Allision transmission, 60k for mileage very hard to believe that there could be a problem with a bullet proof transmission, my temperature gauge stopped working,I have just over 100k and oil has been changed twice,no leaks nice and dry under transmission, I check it every time I am going to go out,I check it cold, always nice and clean, smells like it should, neutral in stopped traffic.i will get around to fixing the temp gauge but not worried about it, these transmission are in all types of heavy trucks and busses and can take a beating. I would be asking more questions, does not seem right. It would be easy to say just drive it but it is always in your mind. Hope it is a simple fix Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  11. Remember the dangers of being under the coach ,I would call a tractor trailer shop, make an appointment/send them a picture prior and have them change it out, I have replaced one of these and I think I paid $200 cnd. Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  12. That is great Ivan I have a supplier in Alberta that will probably have what I need Much appreciated Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  13. I posted a problem that I have with power and Tom helped me out with a great description and some things I need to check when I return, problem is we are showing up at the coach with no power and have no parts,Ivan or Vito ,would you happen to have a part number for one of each,30 and 50 amp round bussman fuses,I think I have a spare but don't want to chance it, as I mentioned ,had the generator running, pulled in the bedroom slide, held the switch for a second when I had it all the way in and thats when I lost all power in the basement.was going to be late for a flight so only had a minute to check breakers In the walk in closet, checked the basement and no power. Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  14. Thanks Tom Hopefully Ivan or Vitto see the post ,they have similar units Thanks again Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  15. Tom That makes total sense, when I brought the bedroom slide in and held the switch for a second that's when I lost power. So in saying that I probably blew the breaker,I have all my books in the coach, I am now 1000 miles away, would that be the big round fuses in the engine compartment? Would like to purchase what I may need before I head back. Thanks for the help Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  16. That is correct,I did not turn off the disconnect switches when I lost power to the entire system. I am missing something Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  17. So today I was packing up to leave the coach for 6 weeks,I had the generator running to ensure the batteries would be fully charged then shut off master switches and hook up solar panels to keep them excited while I am away, I was pulling in the bedroom slide with generator on ,when I got it in for some reason I lost power to the lights, toilet ,I pulled the galley slide in.I checked breakers all good,Checked inverter in the basement and no power anywhere, had to leave to get on the plane, any ideas, maybe I needed to turn the inverter on from inside the coach? Or when I turn the master switch back on will it turn all power back on ? Any thoughts Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  18. Omg,I am so tired and embarrassed, been running this rig for how long and missed the obvious!!, old man should have used the flash light this morning when he left, probably switched it off then, Thanks Jim, all good!
  19. Ran the inverter for 8 hours powering the fridge, came back to the coach and started the generator, I assume the batteries were low,let it run for an hour or so,shut it down, turn the mode back to ac,fired the generator back up,all the receptacles work but no lights, when I turn the rocker switch to check battery status, nothing, breakers are all good, inverter light is on in the bay, tired what I'm I missing? Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  20. I changed my steering tires year five, drives and tag will be changed out before year 7,no weather check, tread all good, Safety first. Bridgestone tires Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  21. Richard Great post! I feel it brother, this is a great read for all the new coach owners, this is the real deal. Richard did a great job describing what is supposed to be an enjoyable adventure that turned into a little work, you probably noticed that he kept his cool, knew what to do /how to problem solve and manage to get himself to point B without stopping at Walmart for a sign to sell the rig. No one / dealers mention that "we have the perfect coach for you" bring tools, parts and a technician. Like WE always say," do not need any other hobbies when you own a coach" I have a to do list that I hope I can get done this spring, just part of the game, money and time. Richard will have that rid 100% in no time Wayne 1999 signature ceaser
  22. Fantastic pictures Mike I am going to reach out to a few suppliers in Canada to see what they have to offer, if not will have to do some cross border shopping, the usual. Thanks again Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  23. Unfortunate set of events, thankfully every one got out. Property and personal items are replaceable. Insurance companies another problem, in another post I mentioned that my tenant burnt my shop, December 20th and still no word from them in regards to replacement or payout. Would someone be able to share the key points and recommendations from the presentation at the gathering in regards to fire extinguisher/fire suppression systems and any new technology available. This discussion of Andrew's loss is a time for us to use weaknesses as strengths. I believe I speak for who could not attend, wish we were there for the gathering but of course with the way the world is now it is very difficult. Thank you Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
