  1. We should talk about safety, Air ride and air brakes. I am skiddish like a cat when it comes to crawling underneath the rid, firm ground and jack stands in the area where I am going to be,have to remember that there is no room for any of us under the coach if the air was ever dumped from the system,I will bring it to the truck shop if I am unsure. Airbrakes, if the button is pushed in and or brake seems to be dragging, set of good quality wheel chocks. Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  2. Welcome You won't need to find another hobby for a while, it will make you laugh and then cry. All good. Owners manual, read it from cover to cover over and over again.there is an online Motor coach course you can take,if your interested send me your personal email and I can forward you the link with a preview. There are a number of air brake courses as well,In Canada mandatory to have an air brake certification to drive any air brake equipment on public roads,(Canadian citizens) I am curious how the seller could sell the coach without a fuel cap, tires ,does the coach not need to be certified before it goes out onto public roads ? 3. I use a solar panel with a long enough cord so it can be in as much sunlight as possible, works great, when traveling I will store it in the walk in closet .small price great results, can excite any battery if needed, house, toad, boat,Atv. Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  4. Morning, correction in regards to the cover,I had ADCO in the past, designer series, worked well, the one I purchased now is from RV Cover.ca Gold shield 5L - size 42 to 44' Regular price is/was $ 1579.99 on sale for $ 629.00 , free shipping. This is an all season cover, very durable compared to the ADCO designer. Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  5. The best that I found was ADCO, mine is 45' and fits like a glove, water proof roof ,I believe I paid $ 600.00 cnd for it. This will be the second winter with it on, survived Hurricane Fiona, I had live cameras on it 24/7 ,I watch the wind and rain pound on it, no problem. Will definitely buy another when the time comes. 6. Brouck I am going to give you an example of what I will do when I return to my coach for a short visit in a couple weeks. temperature will be well below freezing. 1 - it is always plugged in 50 amp, if 50 is not available adapter down to 120,if power is not available, one solar panel to starting batteries, one to house batteries, panels were receiving 3 to 4 hours sunlight per day. 2- I will plug it in to block heat when on shore power. Shore power not available I will start the generator ensure batteries are charged, fire up the aqua hot , once the aqua hot has been through one complete cycle I will turn on the engine heat switch.I will let it circulate for a hour or so deepening on outside temperature. 3- if I am using the aqua hot just for engine heat I will shut everything off, generator as well. Turn the key and she will fire right up. Charge all the batteries Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  7. Good point If my memory serves me correct I did purchase a new battery with a bad cell. Usually starters will give you at least one warning that they are on there way out. Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  8. I echo Ray Clean up all the cables, check ALL cables going into clamps, any black tape get it off and check, something simple, Ground Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser May be a silly question, sure your hooked properly, sometimes other owners do some strange stuff Batteries full charge Way 1999 Signature ceaser

  10. I have a Yamaha emergency generator for the house ,I put fresh high grade gasoline with stabilzer in it every year ,run it on load once a year for an hour, 5 years now never a problem with the starting battery, Santa probably needs to bring her a new battery. Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  11. Don't carry the whole cover up onto the coach, I usually do it bright and early in the morning with no wind, any wind I stay on the ground, I roll it up,place the back portion over the air horns with someone holding the ladder, then I get up from the back, someone holding the ladder, walk to the front and start to pull it up while walking to the back, nice to have someone on the ground if you get snagged up. Never stand on the cover, always have you feet on the coach just in case a wind comes up and grabs it. Keep the belly straps loose so the cover can move with the wind. Never had an issue, done it alone many times, just the extra person is nice, safety first! Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  12. Gary My coach is winterized, plugged into 50 amp, I have a coach cover and it is parked on crushed stone. The cover stays on,no scafing and stayed on during hurricane Fiona in Nova Scotia, I have had covers for the last 10 years, well worth the money.I will look up the brand of the one that is on there now, I have cameras with live feed and recorder if any animals or people are near it. I also have 3 mouse deterrent (Tom cat) plugged in the basement, one in the engine compartment and one inside Hope this helps Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  13. Would carry couple Pails of water with lids so that we could still use the washroom/clean up and some dishes. Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  14. I mixed up fuel in oil, antifreeze in oil is head gasket Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  15. Head gasket? Would not drive it Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  16. Aquahot is the answer, I do leave the generator running and or ensure it is set to auto start, forgot to mention that I have the engine heat on as well, heated tile floor on , want to ensure the Onan has a load on it, not the best for the generator to run without a load. Like I said in the last post, woke up with Aquahot, generator, heated tile floor, basement heat all on in well below freezing temperatures, standing in the galley shorts and t shirt sipping on a coffee. Important thing to remember when the temperatures are below freezing, do not close the front curtains, if you do you will have to deal with a windshield with lots of ice and condensation. When you start the coach it will be fairly close to operating temperatures. Enjoy Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  17. Driven from Ontario, stayed in twin cities on our way to Texas,Alabama and Arizona in January on a number of occasions, - 15 f overnight, basement heat on full,Aqua hot and generator running, I have a thermometer in the basement and it has stayed consistent at 40f.most trips I will keep the antifreeze in until I get into Tennessee. Hope this helps Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  18. I am replacing my Norcold as well.I am looking at a Vitrifrigo fridge with freezer (marine product) I have one of there fridge/freezer chest as a temporary solution for now, when I do purchase the new one the chest will become the freezer in the basement. All electric. Might be worth checking out, running off the grid these seem to be very effective. Citimarinestore.com Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser

  20. There is, this guy is mentally exhausted and probably should not have been commenting on the parking brake,in regards to lubricating the slides yes,I had to go back into service note and what Larry said was correct, that was the caliper that was sticking.why exhausted, racing in Ironman Tempe Arizona on November 20,2022, days are long training, was enjoying having coffee and jumping in on the thread's, so in saying that,no front park brake, keep the slides lubricated, and get some rest Wayne. Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  21. Thanks Larry I will definitely investigate/research in regards to the passenger side front coming as part of the parking brake system. Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  22. Great idea Wow,nice and clean Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  23. I am drawing a blank right now, would have to have a look again, but with both wheels off the ground, rear wheels chocked so it doesn't move, you can rotate the drivers side and passenger side with minimal effort, when I pull the plunger to set the brakes it will apply the brake to the passenger side. That side will stick if I park for 6 months, it will release but start to drag after approximately 5 miles,so I keeps the pins well lubricated, it is crazy how many of these coaches they made and how different each one is, my Ceaser has a galley slide and queen bed slide with a full walk in closet that we use for a bedroom for our young son.it is a great rig. Love the old school mechanical 500 Cummins. Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
  24. That is correct in regards to rear wheels,if you ever have the front end off the ground, with the backs applied, drivers side will roll freely and passenger side will have the brake applied. Hope this clarifies what I am stating Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser Great picture Ivan, exactly what I was trying to explain Thanks Wayne 1999 Signature ceaser
