So you prefer to pay 200 to 300 dollars for a rebuild and pray that the rebuilder didn't skip any steps and install what you said they install instead of paying $253.00 for a new one? And if you keep running the engine, remember that the generator still turning, and if the guy didn't replace the "bearings" then you will really get stranded. Everyone makes a choice in life.

Find a reputable shop, and ask them what it is their warranty when you are 400 miles away from their place. AJ electric sells direct replacement. I replaced on my coach, perfect fit. It looks like I am getting something from AJ Electric don't I? I don't.

Like I said, If you are 400 miles away and the rebuilded alternator fails, what do you do? I know people go to PepBoys to get the Alternator or started replaced. And I saw them going back and back again. Rebuild does not mean "remanufacturer". Rebuild means check and replace what is worn out, could be brushes or voltage regulator. Yes rebuild is the easy way out, not the best repair. A new alternator will cost less than $300.00 plus installation, which is a good DIY easy job.

AJ Electric, new, perfect fit no issues. I was in the automobile repair business for 40 years, rebuild means "I do the less possible, painted and send it out" Are you going to get back to that place if you are 600 miles away for warranty? Probably not and that is what they are hoping. Buy it from AJ Electric (Amazon, or better off directly from them) and "if" you have a problem they warranty the part wherever you are.

How do you choose where to bring your RV for repairs? I imagining that most of you will say, I was recommended to it by a friend, or I read it on a forum, doing searches online; I am sure there are multiple answers and opinions on the matter. Many of us don't have repairs facilities in our state that can handle specialty repairs, so sometimes we have to travel far to get it done. I bought something once on Facebook and I paid by PayPal; what I received was not what I ordered, and a complaint to PayPal came back to me with just a biased answer. They prefer to side with a scammer instead of looking into what a consumer has to say. So now I think four times before I pay with PayPal. So, what about any given state in our country? Will the Attorney General of that estate will go after a business in his state to protect an individual from another state that was ripped off? You will consider that State Attorney General record when you choose that repair facility? You may say that you just go by the recommendations, but on many occasions, what was good for one does not mean it is going to be good for you. You can bring your BMW to a tire repair shop chain for a tire replacement, but you will bring it for a timing chain repair? I know that someone will say, "well I know this great mechanic that can fix anything". Trust me, you should not. Will you let an orthopedic surgeon do open heart surgery on you?. Again, someone will say: Why not? Those are the same people that still think the world is flat. Anyway, my point is, what kind of defense we have when someone rips us when they do a bad repair. Do you want to be the family member that now drives a Mercedes Benz, you want to be the dead one so your family drives the Mercedes Benz, or you want to be that Doctors next patient? I wrote to that Attorney General mediator that even though I would like to get a monetary settlement, I want that the Attorney General takes a position to protect the good business in his state, meaning go after the bad business legally. If that state RV repairs business reputation gets affected for bad repairs shops, my opinion is it could be his (AG) fault due to the lack of enforcement of the laws by his office. I think these are the function of any state Attorney General, the question is how dedicated he/she is about their function of the office that they work and how committed are to the laws that they did swear to protect. Knowing that the Attorney General of any given state will protect you or not will affect your choice decision to where to bring your business to? I saw in NY $1.57 @ gallon, I remember 12 years ago was over $4.00 @ gallon. I used fill up in New jersey because it was cheaper than NY, now NY is very low. The crude demand is so low that the big exporters are giving it away, Saudi and other places are drawning in crude oil.

Can you create smoke somehow? When I had my auto repair shop I had a smoke generator to diagnos emmission leaks on some systems on the cars, and many times I use it to find water leaks. Maybe a steamer will do. Someone from inside creating steam with one of those clothe steamers or you can make one of this:

There is an app for that. It will show your location abd the areas where and where you can't fly. Campgrounds have their own rules. Air space is free so you can take off from outside and flier over.

The difference on the antifreeze is to prevent bubbles forming on the cylinder sleeves outside walls. I don't know if will make much difference on the actual engine temperature. In mine 40 years as an auto technician I saw many sensors that lie. Are you sure that the coach runs at that temperature? I don't know what Cumming does, many cars have two sensors one is a "sender" for your gauge and another for the engine management. A scanner will red both and they should red the same, but with a Diesel I could not tell you more. I will not be concern with thermostat, usually a faulty thermostat will permanently closed (overheating) or open, longer to warm up.

I will clean the radiator from the outside, use a good degreaser and hose down well. No pressure washer. You have an AC condenser in front of the radiator, and both need a good flow. AC condenser runs very hot when the AC is on.

At the entrance door, towards the rear there is a switch that says "Battery Cut Off" Please check it.
