  1. Here's the dish mount. I had the telescoping flagpole already. The bottom section broke but after cutting off the bade piece it was still plenty long enough for this purpose. I had to make a shim to put in the top end in order to get a snug fit on the dish pipe. You can see the cable goes into the bedroom slide. Inside at the other end of the cable is the Starlink router and it plugs into a 120v outlet. That's it for the equipment! However, if you have anything that needs an ethernet port, you need to order the ethernet adapter from Starlink for an additional $20. There is no ethernet port on the Gen II Starlink router. Without the ethernet adapter the Starlink router just puts out a strong Wifi signal. For the time being I'm just going to leave my router in the bedroom. I'm need to do some maintenance on the roof this summer and when I'm finished I might run the cable down the roof so I can put the router in my electronics compartment up front. And finally the speed test. Your results may vary as do mine. While I've been using the system at home my speeds have ranged from 40 Mbps to 250 Mbps. Typically they are around 100 Mbps though. This morning I backed out the motorhome, installed the dish and plug it in. I waited about 15 minutes for it to get aligned and then I did the test that you can see below. Whether it will be much slower when I'm in roaming mode I don't know. I can fill you in later.
  2. I got my Starlink home setup about two months ago and it works great. In the mean time I finally got my T-mobile home internet working properly so today I finished my installation on the motorhome and I'll be trying it out soon. The advantage to to the RV system is being able to stop and start service as needed. I can't do that with the residential system. I used a telescoping flag pole and attached it to the ladder. I can have the dish just above the ladder or I can raise it an extra 6 feet or so. The bedroom slide is very close so I run the cable out trough the slide seal. It works great here at the house but I can't wait to try it somewhere that has no other service.
  3. First and the sooner after the spill the better, poor some gasoline on the the spot and scrub it with a broom. Don't be stingy with the gas and wipe up any residue with rags. You may even want to repeat this step. Then use any kind of degreaser or detergent and water on the spot and once again scrub with a broom. Finally, if you have a pressure washer wash it down thoroughly. I'm a retired mechanic and I've been cleaning oil off of concrete my hole life. There are no oil stains on my garage floor. Muriatic acid will remove stains from concrete however it etches the surface an makes it more porous and much harder to clean in the future. Epoxy paint is awesome for shop floors. The only down side is it's very slippery when wet.
  4. I don't imagine it will cause any serious problems if you wait. However, I would just go ahead and replace it now so you don't have think about it anymore. You won't necessarily get any cracks or chips traveling in Canada and Alaska. I've been to Alaska and back twice without getting any. It would just bug me having to look at it every day.
  5. Les Schwab has tire stores all over the West. I've never seen one that doesn't service trucks and RVs. They even have service trucks for road calls. I like to buy my RV tires from them because I live in the West and when I'm traveling they seem to be almost everywhere. If you buy your tires from them they usually will fix flats for free. Even 3 or 4 states away from where I purchased my tires they have handled warranty issues without my paperwork. I was in the computer.
  6. Thanks Edgar. I'm in Nevada but we have Les Schwab and I was planning on checking with them anyway.
  7. I have Gmail so I haven't been having this problem. I can't speak to other mail servers but occasionally with Gmail something that I want is marked as spam. However I have the option of marking it as not spam and it starts go back into my inbox. I don't know if this will help anyone but it might be something to check. Obviously it won't help if the message gets remove before it even reaches your spam folder.
  8. That sounds great Edgar! Can you tell me where you got them?
  9. I have the exact same coach only a 2003 year model. The label inside the coach calls for a 235/80RX22.5. I'm running Toyo 245/75R22.5 M154 tires. They are 8 years old, have around 50k miles on them and have no cracks and have given me absolutely no problems. They are however to the point where I plan to replace them this summer. I will be replacing them with the same tires. I like Toyos and you know what they say, "If it ain't broke don't fix it." I hope this helps and good luck finding a good price. I'll be doing the same thing very soon.
  10. The steering wheel should always be centered on the steering box. That's done by counting the stop to stop turns on the wheel return it half of that and then centering the steering wheel. That never needs to be done again unless the steering wheel or steering column are disconnected. After that the wheels are centered using linkage adjustments under the vehicle, typically the drag link. Doing it this way assures that the steering box is centered when you going straight down the road as it should be as well as having the steering wheel centered.
  11. With the engine off you are measuring the movement of the actuating valve in the power steering. Starting the engine eliminates almost all of that movement.
  12. Been there, done that also. Even though I had a class A. There are more reason's than that to leave California.
  13. I'm 70 and I do all of my own work. My motorhome has never been to a shop. I'm going to have to pull the bedroom slide soon so I can replace the seals. I'm just about finished building a 40' x 24' barn to park in. So far I can do just about everything but much slower than I used to. I see the handwriting on the wall though. I don't know for how long.
  14. Normally that relay is only turned on by the key switch. That's where I would start looking for the problem. If you can unplug the key switch and that relay shuts off then you need a new key switch.
  15. The problem may not be what's on the accessory relay circuit but that the accessory relay is on while the key is off.
  16. I love 395 with Bishop and Lone Pine and the Alabama Hills. I'm into photography and it doesn't get much better than that. Let me know when you're going and if we're around you're welcome to spend the night here.
  17. A few years ago I found some raccoons had gone under my MH and got on top of the cargo bins that go in and out with the slide. I found their tracks in the dust. Fortunately it seemed to be a one time thing.
  18. If you need a overnight spot near Carson City let me know. I have 5 acres and full hookups out in Dayton.
  19. If there is problem with your MH charging system the "Toad Battery Charger" won't charge your toad. I think all it has over a direct wire system is some indicator lights and maybe a diode.
  20. I just added a fused 12 gauge wire from my house batteries to an extra pin on the 7 pin trailer plug. On the car end run the wire from the same pin to the battery. That end should be fused also. The house batteries charge when I'm driving or on shore power so my toad battery does too. If I stop for a night with shore power and don't unhook the car I don't even bother to turn the key off because the car battery will charge with the house batteries. I've been running it that way for the last five year an never had a problem.
  21. If you put it in the battery compartment it may or may not present an explosion problem, probably not. What you may end up having is a corrosion problem. You don't want your expensive electronics looking like your battery trays do.
  22. The batteries might be the whole problem. I would replace them first and make sure they've had time to fully change and then check the voltage again.
