  1. I have a question re: replacement steps. My diplomat came with a single Power step (I don’t know model number at this time). Can I switch to a two step model and use the existing motor or will two steps be too much load?
  2. Nice looking rig. Welcome from the land of Mickey Mouse! P. S. We will be in Savanah next week.
  3. Sorry, but someone already provides that level of service.
  4. Thanks. I called them and got the service Dept voice mail. I left my name & number.
  5. I live in Orlando, FL and need a repair to my coach’s plumbing. I can’t find anyone in Orlando that is A: willing to work on a Monaco; B: will work on an Rv over 10 years old. If I remember correctly, Monaco had a service center in Wildwood, Fl that is now an independent RV service center but still works on Monacos. I don’t remember the name it now goes under. Does anyone remember the new name?
  6. The website for DPI Marine says they are out of business.
  7. Where did you get the boat port? I have the same “get it close” situation. I have to use a very old, almost worn out sewer hose. I purchased a new one but can’t use it. I also have a clear 45 connector but it just magnifies the misalignment.
  8. I believe the generator is in front on that year of Newell.
  9. I live in Orlando and recognized them in the Newell on I-4 in Orlando when they were passing through to the Tampa RV Super Show in January. Wow! I can’t imagine what they’ve been through in all of this. The Go Fund Me site says they canceled their insurance on their home yesterday. Did they have insurance on the Newell?
  10. Good luck with Lazy Days in Tampa. I have heard many people that have had poor luck with them. I’ve heard many say they gave good service. However, I’ve never used them so I have no experience with them. I live in Orlando so they’re too far away.
  11. We started with an Airstream in 2006. My wife doesn’t trust household toilet paper but I do so to keep the Missus happy, we use RV toilet paper. I used to use the Orange stuff in little packets and add one every day. Not long ago I switched to Digest-it by Unique. It is an enzyme that, well, digest the solids. They make a sensor cleaner formula as well. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=unique+rv+digest-it+holding+tank+treatment&crid=1HXLVCIFPHBB8&sprefix=unique%2Caps%2C101&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_4_6 So far no odor & seems to dissolve everything. It was recommended by the National RV Training Academy. Happy Camper is also good. I’d probably use Happy Camper if I couldn’t get Digest-it.
  12. And don’t ask about their work ethic…or lack thereof!
  13. Question: my 2001 Diplomat has two bays that extend the full width of the basement. One door has a locking latch and the one next to it doesn’t have a lock (never has had a lock, it has a blank in the latch instead of a lock). The weird thing is there is no separation between the two bays. Is there supposed to be one, it doesn’t appear to be designed for one. How can I add a lock? It does no good to lock one and not the other. The doors on the opposite side are the same way, one locks and one doesn’t. All you’d have to do is open the one with no lock and you can reach in and unlock the door next to it. BTW, the door for the LP tank doesn’t have a lock either but it is separated by a partition. i can see where a lock would be an obstacle if there ever was an emergency.
  14. RV is currently at storage facility but I will go over and try these suggestions before my next trip President's weekend. Thanks everybody!
  15. I'm not really sure where the drip is coming from. It is dripping from the valve area so it could be the O-ring or one of the joints nearby. I drips down into the wet bay and then onto the ground. I haven't been able to stop it. I really don't like the idea of it dripping on the ground. I was at a electric/water only site so the hose opening had the "lid" screwed in, but some was still dripping out. When I dumped, there was a good half inch of black water in the bottom of the wet bay.
  16. I discovered I have a drip from my black tank. I replaced the valve and it was hard to close so I replaced it with a different brand but still getting a drip. I feel like the first time I replaced it the O-ring on one side bunched up and was causing the leak. I made sure it didn't happen the second time. Has anyone else had a leak that wasn't because of the slide valve? What did you do?
  17. Our TV is in the front cab also. Our college age sons travel with us most times. There isn't really enough seating for all of us to have a comfortable view of the TV (we have a sofa behind driver's seat and Eurocliner behind the co-pilot's seat). The angle is just not good for someone to sit in the co-pilot's seat. I am interested in placing a TV lift cabinet under the window behind the co-pilot's seat (no slide on this side of saloon) and slide the Eurocliner over by the sofa and use the driver's seat and/or the co-pilot's seat plus sofa for TV viewing. Now my question: has anybody done this? If so, where did you get the cabinet for the TV lift? Where did you get the TV lift?
  18. Not sure of the brand I have, but it is similar and I got mine from Amazon, too. Always use it.
  19. From what I understand, you need to make sure the clear coat also protects from UV or it will still yellow and fade.
  20. I have a 2001 Diplomat and the step is only a single step. It often requires a step stool to reach the step if the front has to be raised any. Could it have originally been a double step and the lower step been damaged and removed instead of being repaired? If it was originally a single, can it be replaced with a double? Has anyone swapped a double for a single? How hard is to change?
  21. On a resent trip to the west side of Lake Okeechobee,FL the discounted price listed at the truck stop was a little higher than at the local BP station. So always check gas buddy when checking the prices.
  22. I really don’t think that concrete pillar moved. If it did it was faulty it begin with. I think the angle of the photo makes it look out of center…perspective.
  23. I have my coach in the shop for another reason. I tried the button with the worn red surface. It is made differently from the photo. I had the door open with the exterior step extended and tried the switch...nothing, the step still retracted when I closed the door. I tried the switch in the other direction and still, nothing happened and the step retracted when I closed the door. Since my stepwell bulbs are missing, I think the switch might be to turn them on as you are entering the coach.
