  1. Not in my humble opinion. A quick look around the outside say its a fail. You can stop the inspection right there. If they did a full inspection they obviously did give a dam about the customer, we want your money now its your problem. I'll shut up now! John Haggard Yes he knew it was foggy, but did he know that was a fail reason? If you care about the customer level with them. A quick look says that we will have to fail it, do you want us to continue the inspection would have been a more reasonable approach.
  2. Ivylog You are correct, did not remember the name. I got confused when I looked at your profile an it said you were born in 2020 & you did the conversion 10 years ago. 😉
  3. Dennis H Are you mostly hooked up to shore power?
  4. Corkman https://rvcoolingunit.com/Norcold-Cooling-Units-Amish-Built-Brand-new-C4437.aspx Had one for 5 years now. Might want to look at the helium unit. They weren't available at the time I changed ours out. We mostly boondock with solar. I don't like running my gen. If you stay were you are hooked up to power then by allmeans go residential. I can't really find anyone who has been residential for a few years who mostly boondock. Right now were in the mid 80⁰ to 90⁰ fridge is set between 3 & 4. If you do it i recommend 2 extra fans at the top of the vent. I used my old ones an put a separate switch so I can turn them off when not needed. Also use his fans for inside in front of the fins.
  5. How many years have you been using it? Did it fit through the door or did you have to take a window out.
  6. https://rvcoolingunit.com/Norcold-Cooling-Units-Amish-Built-Brand-new-C4437.aspx Is it the perfect unit? No. We have had it 5 years now. No major problems. Most times we run it on 5. But when it get over 100⁰ we have to kick on the extra fans. But when its a 100⁰ were looking for cooler temperatures any way. Were on a three month trip now entering week 2. Will find a camp ground with full hookups next week for a day to refill our tanks & do our laundry. Then we will be back out the free stuff.
  7. Bob I went with the Amish unit because we mostly boondock. When I changed it out I added 2 extra fans up near the vent with a switch that I can turn them on at my choice. They help a lot when its hot out side. I also ended up using his fans for the inside in front of the fins. Have not had to use more than one so far. I have 400w of solar. But the 4 6volt batteries I'm far from confented that they would keep a res fridge going. In real hot weather I still have to have it cranked the old NorCold all the way. You really have to consider all that you do. If you go campground to campground a res fridge might work. Boondocking if I had another 6 grand to get Battle Born Battery then it might be the way to go.
  8. Can't you just tape on some dixie cups. 😉😂🤪
  9. Jim C We plan on being back home after the Albuquerque baloon Festival in October. God willing. Always looking to learn, do you except bribes for education & tool loans. That's the preferred way over trial & error.
  10. Hypoxia ; Jim C Did I read that right ? Your in the Phoenix area?😉☺ I would love to talk to you when we get back in October. Unless we get rained delayed again. We are in Gilbert. In that case i would like to take to you sooner. Lol I agree the 2 on the compressor side would the most likely culprits. I'm hoping we are able to get through this session without too many recharges.
  11. Ivan. DFW. Dallas, Fort worth ? May be down that way in the spring. Headed to Colorado & Casper this trip. Might have to invest in more tools. Lol
  12. Vito Thanks that is what I was thinking. I have had to learn how to look for leaks, put die in the system, evacuate, recharge. The 1st time was $250, thst lasted 2 days. 3 days later I found another leak. He charged $175 that time. I made it form Phx to Chinle. Had a hot trip to Cortez Colorado. Got a good Scorpion light. Comes in handy to find those nasty critters when not looking for ac leaks. Thats when I learned how to recharge my self. Found leaks when the so-called pros couldn't find any. Have had 1 end replaced. Lucky to have found a person who would do that. He retired, dang it. I'm down to every couple of months or when we make a trip. Now I carry a 6 pack & a set of gages. Just running out of places to look. After the sun sets tonight I will be looking again before I recharge for the trip in 2 days. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your input. Woody. Yes I have used the sniffers before. Could not find any leak. I don't have that tool. You would think in a town the size of Phoenix I should be able to find someone to splice a hose. Every shop has said they can't put a 38ft in there shop. Have not been able to find a mobile either.
  13. We have a 2001 Diplomat. We are losing coolant R134A for the dash air. The hoses are 21years old. I'm 95% certain they are the problem since I have had to repair 1 already. It helped but did not totally cure the loss. I have to add refrigerant every 4 to 6 weeks. I have checked every connection that I can find. The schrader valves are not the problem. Compressor is fine. So here's the question: Has anyone had to change out the hoses, and how did you do it? All the AC shops say they run it under the coach, but that does not seem like a good solution to me. I have no idea how to gain access above the cargo bays to put the hoses in the original location.
  14. Ordered off Tadi, what a mess. After 7 weeks returned the camera. Got our money back. Got a camera from RV CAMS. A Voyager because that was our original equipment. Much better to work with. We did have a problem with the monitor, but they were always easy to get intouch with. They sent out a new monitor & the second one work like it was supposed to. The cost was twice what Tadi's was. That was a month ago. Heading out next week for 3 months. The product for RV Cams. Seems to be a lot better than Tadi's. Not much in the way of options for companies to go with. Good luck.
  15. You probably have noticed that the pictures are upside down. Wish i could be more help.
  16. That looks an awful like my backup camera plug-in. Bet it was for an optional side camera.
  17. First time driving anything that big was bringing the beast home. With my wife as my tell gunner we said a prayer an started the engine. Nice slow trip home on badly rotten tires. Some how we ended up in a construction zone with barriers 9 feet apart. When I got to a stop light my wife called in a panic. She told me I'm missing the barriers on my right side by about 2 in. Its a lot harder to keep these big rigs in the center of the lane than you would think. I still have a tendency to hug the right side of the lane. 10 mile trip to home. It was time for a good stiff drink. The only advice I got was don't start your turn till the shoulder of the road is even with your shoulder. A couple of weeks later was told to find something for a visual to keep centered in the road. When look through a plat glass window, easier said than done. A black marker sure helped. Took a chunk out of a rear tire getting out of the MVD. Thats when i learned about tail swing. Was hoping those 6 rotten tires would keep holding air till I got the beast in my name. They did. Then I found a mobile tire guy who was cheaper than anyone else in town. What a blessing don't think I would have made the 40 mile drive to the tire store. Mandatory drivers training, No way. Something that would help is tow different list for people to reference. 1. For trailer towing. 2. For Motorhomes. Does not have to be a long list, just the basics.
  18. One more thing that I haven't seen. I carry 6 cans of R34 A. Why 6 cans? Thats the way Sam's Club sells them. I also hang a curtain behind the driver's seats. Dash air does a crappie job of cooling the whole coach.
  19. A tow vehicle (jeep wrangler preferred) just incase you break down then you have a way to go get parts. Also you can use it to push it into town. Not recommend but have seen it done.
  20. Thats not far from us. Keep in touch, we probably could meet up somewhere along your route. Have some plans for yuma & Quartzsite 4 wheeling.
  21. Add a fuel, water filter, & serpentine belt, to that list We should be back from our trip by October. Would love to see your rig. We have a 2001 that needs flooring & a paint job. That is if you get near Gilbert. Forgot a quart of diesel to prime that fuel filter with.
  22. You would probably be fine. We have taken the windshield repair kit from Walmart $10 or so. We sealed 2 cracks about 18in long. My wife used the plastic sheets at the intersection and at each end of the cracks and equally with how many she had. The rest of the crack just run the glue all along the crack. That was almost a year ago & the crack has not gotten any longer here in the Arizona sun. May be a little weird, but it seemed to work. She has also used the stuff on my cellphone. Safe travels
  23. Just to let you know your not the only one with this problem. My clear coat is flaking off. Decals will be coming off next year if no other major problems come up. Will also be learning how to paint. I will be researching other options including full body wrap. Sometimes I think its not worth it, just sell it and add 15 to 20g's and upgrade. Then I look at newer coaches and find I've traded one problem for a different problem. If you find something in Mexico please pass the information along. We did the dental trip & saved 8g's. In Algodones. Best dentist I've seen in a long time. When money is an issue you either give up or you get creative. Keep me in mind & please pass me any thing you learn. God bless.
  24. No covers on mine either.
  25. Look up source engineering. I forget all the models that had this problem but one of them is the cayman. They have the best solution for this problem.
