  1. I'm always confused by some of the language 😉. Air leveling, when moving, or leveling the coach on a ramp? I use jacks to level the coach on a ramp. At the rear of the coach are two solenoids [sorry can't find pic right now] if it is them, how do I; 1. know the solenoid is stuck [whack it, which one ?] 2. if the ride height valve, is that a job for a pro? Thanks for the heads up.
  2. 2004 Cheetah My son from the UK is in the US for a few days. His job is a crashed/vehicle inspector. I asked him to check my airbags because they just didn't seem right. He did something I had not seen or heard of. He tapped them. With the suspension down, most had a dull thud. The rear passenger side rang like a bell. Sure enough it was not down. As I had suspected these past weeks. So we ran the system up and down a few times....... pass. side remained up. [airbags at rear are not both the same re manufacturer.] Our checks showed the process used to deflate bags is as per the manual [he deals with this stuff all day especially via wrecks]....... so, how do I get the rear pass side bag to deflate? Les
  3. Hi Folks.. again. Met with my tech today. He had another monaco in for service.... wow what a difference. I know you good folk have provided solutions but please look at the pics. The first is my coach with all the air out. 2nd pic is the other coach. Note how low it is. 3rd pic is my coach sitting up on MINIMAL jacks......... note length of shocker. What can be keeping my coach up in the air [ no jacks]? L
  4. Thanks Tom. I run a pretty complicated audio studio and am used to chasing gremlins. Don't know much abut Monaco's but find the logic to be hardly Star Trek...... anyway it am what it am....... I have mo work cut out 😉
  5. As I work through the various issues on my coach.. and thanks to all for the help......... I have followed Tom's advice by running the bedroom [#2 zone] a/c and a fan down by the dash, works pretty good. However, when I put the furnace on #2 the heat comes out of the living room vents? Crossed wires somewhere?
  6. I put moth balls under the coach and in each bay.......... wife hates the smell, but then she doesn't have to 'get the mice' ! Also sticky traps. Put a dollop of peanut butter in the middle..... you can often get more than one of the little critters. I don't like to kill anything [even the rattlers where I live] I yell at the mice, but they don't listen !!
  7. Great thanks............ I also notice when I lift up the lower 'rail' of the bedroom pop out it moves up to the previous 'caulk' line, so perchance the panel is moving away in the heat and/or the slide is drooping... I dunno.
  8. I'm presuming the pic will show the air intake for the engine......... previous owner fought with a light pole and lost. Grill inside is dented but seems ok, engine seems to run ok..... find a fibre glass fix or just leave it? Can't imagine it not being there is causing harm.
  9. I enclose pics of caulk [or whatever it is] which is I presume drying out and getting hot and separating from lower rail. This coach was in a garage now in the sun. Rip out old caulk cover it up with new?
  10. I keep going to the wrong place and no doubt say the wrong dumb layman stuff, but here we are. The original spring loaded action. which kept the front generator slide in place apparently kept braking the pins. Previous owners replaced with a plunger type affair. Kinda ok but whole unit would jump off plunger and slide out the front on braking. I currently use a bolt. Anyone know of a better way to secure the unit. or get a better plunger someplace?
  11. EDITED - Les has created three new specific topics. Therefore this one is closed Thanks Tom.. I'll resend.......repost Every website has it's quirks ;-))
  12. Hi Folks, I've will include pictures. not in order of topic [sorry] The previous owner of my 2004 Cheetah found the pins which held the front cover of the generator unit in place kept breaking. Someone installed a 'plunger' to attach to the rail........ I live up a mountain, rough road, I'd get to the bottom and the gen unit would be sticking out the front 😉 Currently I have a bolt holding it all in place.. I would buy a 'better plunger'. can't find one ???? Any other ideas for securing the slide with EASY access? Where the body meets the side slide out the paint/caulk are separating.......... apply a little more see through silicon or strip it ;-((((((((( Also previous owner backed into a lamp or something. broke off the fibre glass at air intake [all seems to work ok]. leave it or fix it......... how?
  13. I have to beg ignorance.......... but I'm learning. My guy 'fixes' stuff so we'll see if he found magic... next month
  14. where are you.. I'm coming over ;-)) My tech just called said all that needs to be done is ro move the card to the new unit, all good, is he wrong?
  15. My old basic Storm was so simple ;-)))) What I do not understand is why there is no process for repair? My Tech tells me the compressor starts and immediately shuts down. Why? Whatever, can it be there is no-one out there who can fix a compressor, add a portal to re-install freon or whatever and put the unit back together? More to the point, given my lack of knowledge re HVAC, why haven't the original manufacturers com up with replacements? No profit in that, may 'em pay? Haven't followed up on this. https://www.google.com/search?q=refurbished+motorhome+air+conditioners&oq=refurbished+motorhome+air+conditioners&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i22i30j0i390i650l3.10331j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Hi Amphi I'm looking for options. Tom made a great suggestion a few weeks ago . I run the rear unit and have a fan blowing from the front near the dash and so far it keeps the coach cool, but then we aren't up to the 110F mark yet 😉 I take the point[s] spending a few hundred on repaired machinery might not be the best move but I'm at a point in life where even that might outlast me;-). If I do replace I would like the units to be 'back to the original'........ thanks to all for the help.
  16. Hi Tom, In my ignorance it appeared as if the 5 button controller was not working.......... it appears it is aok. I understand all you say, but I ain't doing it and the tech's round here just want to put in the new 2 a/c unit replacements. Musicians always find the work around ;-(( )) If I do I'll let you know !!

Maybe I can get a non slim line a/c to hook up with what is on there.... is that possible?
  18. Hi Jim, Well spotted. On another thread I discussed airbags. As far as I can tell the bags are 'down'.......... I follow the manual, pump the brake down to 60psi, dump, I even go to the rear and open the valves to allow whatever is left to escape and what you see is as far down as the frame goes. I don't think it is correct, but where else might I 'lose' air? Les
  19. HI Jim, This is how my rig is positioned at the moment......... long story, but it is partially undercover with the front wheels on concrete, the back two on gravel. The right rear wheel is lifted up about 1 1/2" at which point the coach is almost level. In the pics I show the plastic supports being used which I will change for wooden blocks. No matter plastic or jacks on the ground the coach has a tendency to 'wallow' side to side.
  20. [Yes old Rockers refuse to die !@!]] My previous coach as of about 4 weeks ago was a 98 Storm........ 4 jacks. Had to add some special Caterpillar oil to the jacks and they then never 'bumped' in the night and I never broke a windscreen. Where my Cheetah is located the right rear wheel is supported by wood since the ground is not level. After deploying the slides, emptying out air I have tried using jacks to their fullest length required to do the job........... I have also made up pads of the plastic supports [4" thick] to lessen the amount of jack length required. When level etc I have also raised the single front jack but still ye olde coache moves side to side. I'll try one more thing since the plastic could be squishing, I'll try 4" wood blocks under the jacks and see what happens. Watch this space;-)
