  1. Many thanks for the info............. no matter what I do the coach 'rocks'. Please excuse my ignorance, what are belt lines? L
  2. As I read the forums I have to wonder who is in charge of quality control at the manufacturers, good grief, so many issues. Anyway, a while ago I was asking questions about air bags, my coach does settle when air is expelled and I have to presume the airbags are down. I have tried every which way as prescribed by many 'fellows' as to how and when to use jacks, extend slides etc. I have opted to follow the manual [until proven wrong], slides out, dump air then use jacks. I note the coach rise on the jacks in the correct order, add a tad more air in the front after leveling, but the coach rocks when people enter or when moving about inside. Being a newbie I am 'terrified' of stretching/splitting airbags etc so do not want to extend jacks further [presuming that might do the trick] putting tyres off the ground. Given the jacks support is a tricycle affair, is the coach always going to rock?
  3. In the end longer, larger screws were applied and so far aok.
  4. Here's a thought..... don't know how to describe this but I'll try. If the crack is the entire length of the wall, use or get of of these vibrating cutter units and slightly widen the crack [hopefully is somewhat straight]....... somewhere I'll bet you can find a length of cabinetry wood which when viewed end on looks like a T with curved top...... various width's Such the leg of the T in the crack with glue.......... done ;-))
  5. As an EX Brit I can concur, Loo is used but very seldom Anyway, what I experienced in my 2004 Cheetah is this. The walls of the Toilet 'portal' are not attached to the floor. As such they moved to the point where the door would not remain closed. Also living up a dirt road etc meant excessive flexing. The fix for the wall was a bunch of long screws into the floor. However, living up a mountain in So Cal I also notice the outside flexes quite bit. Consequently the gaps between the outside 'skin' and the internals of the loo contract overnight in the cold and open up as much as 1/8" during the day. I enclose one pic. The wall to the rear, right side of toilet, also 'splits. I can see it has been caulked over the years.. coach is new to me........ I'm thinking of using adhesive glue....... thoughts?
  6. There is some kind of extraction at the back/rear/top of the stove but it only goes behind the couch ;-)) At this time wifey is against cutting oles n the wall etc............... perplexed.........
  7. Just started to use the cooking stove etc in our Cheetah............. we have a sharp convection over over the cooker. How do get rid of the heat/fumes etc from the gas stove?
  8. It's always so sad........... we only ha e strays from the pound etc. Latest mutt is GINGE.......... she thinks she's a Sheppard but the black tongue says otherwise ;-))
  9. Sorry I took so long to respond............. I enclose a 'dirty' pic of the valves at the rear end of my coach. Hopefully you can see the two valves which I presume are the one's which can be used to 'dump' air quickly, but is it all air or only suspension or? The blue rag I put in place because the units above were leaking, I presume they are solenoids for something [air?].....I live up a dirt road so not matter what things get dirty [yes I do clean things off] there was 'oil' dripping down again I presumed out of the joints between the white units and the lines, that has nit stopped, I didn't do anything........ ....anyway, still trying to figure out what and which is the best way to 'park' the coach without doing damage. Thanks for all the help ooops. mean't to say the oil leak has NOW stopped.
  10. Hi Ben, The manual 'could' be deceiving........... page 394 says to lower suspension before leveling than 210 says to extend slides first. One RV'er with a Cayman lowers first... says he wants everything uot of the bags compartments prior to extending them. I had lowered and leveled first. ave to move the rig today so will try the other way. Pop your windshield out, how/. By moving slides out first or lowering rear jacks first? Thanks for the info.
  11. Hi Gary I was a toolmaker once in my life ;-)) I use the bubble by the jack buttons and I have a small bubble in the fridge.. all good. THNX Les Not directly connected to this thread but this coach had a toilet 'hutch' which had moved. It was screwed into place and since has not moved but outside walls have. Up here in the mountains it is still cold at night......... the gap between the sink surround and the 'wall' is tight. The gap can be 1/16 to 1/8+ during the heat of the day. If the body/chassis etc is expanding and contracting considerable amounts might affect the jacking.
  12. Hi Folks, Putting the front jack 1/2" down did the trick. Thanks to all. Also FWIW years ago the jacks on my Southwind leaked. QUIN [Caterpillar] had a special oil which I guess expanded the seals and hey presto. L
  13. Excuse my ignorance.......... as far as I know all of my jacks are manual. BTW saw a new Monaco in my town yesterday. tag wheel etc...... ohhhhhhhh 😉
  14. Thanks I used to be ok and I don't see oil either....I'll raise the front later and see what happens
  15. I feel sure this Q should be somewhere else, however. I have a 2004 Cheetah. When I park I release airbags, lower jacks [front single jack 1st, 2 rears together] and check the bubble. What I find is the following. If eg; I have to raise the passenger side of the coach to level the bubble, the drivers side jack is off the ground. Reasonable one might argue given the coach has been raised, but doesn't it just 'move over' with the jack on the lower side staying in place on the ground [mighty stiff frame.... good]. OK, no biggy, I lower the jack on the drivers side a little and it meets the ground. Then I find the coach 'wobbles', sways slightly when people move around It is not solid. Why is that, is there a fix?
  16. 2004 cheetah. I've tried various bulbs incl led but they all seem so low in 'power'. I had purchased Bargman for my Fleetwood but don't see anything which would replace the Cheetah assemblies. Anyone know of assemblies or super bright bulbs? Thanks. Les
  17. Long chat with Tom and the easy answer was to work the switches. I did that and so far .. finger crossed, all good. Will squirt some electrical cleaner on them. L
  18. Ok Stephen thank you. Anyone know of RV HVAC people in the Antelope Mohave Victorville area? Les
  19. No. they are basic. Tom gave me a simple way to check. Thanks to all Les
  20. Again, Apologies if I am in the wrong place. None of my roof fans work[ed]. The one's in the toilet etc zippo. However. The Galley unit in the living area seems to have a mind of it's own. It did work [kinda like the a/c next to it.] then no matter what, would not run. I fiddled with it a few days ago, nothing, then this morning........ it started on it's own. Thoughts please Les
  21. It looks to me as if it is going to be wise to keep old machines running as long as possible........... is there a scrap yard somewhere for older a/c units?
  22. Hi Folks, newbie here. v- 13.5K BTU Low profile version: https://www.recpro.com/rv-air-conditioner-low-profile-13-5k-quiet-ac-with-heat-pump-remote-non-ducted/. will the shroud/cover of the old [to be replaced unit] fit the new unit so roof appearance will be the same? Have to admit I am finding the incompatibilities somewhat scary [even silly]. Years ago when MIDI was introduced the musical equipment companies decided on a global protocol so all product 'talked' to each other. This is also the case re DAW's and plug-ins etc. How come RV'ers haven't yelled at the manufacturers to be compatible? Les
  23. Sorry folks, inside joke, once a Womble always so.............. I'll try the air movement idea later today if log splitting allows. THNX Les
  24. Had a long chat with Tom yesterday.. very helpful, thanks My 2004 Cheetah is where my wife and I live, up a mountain at 5,000' while the house is fixed up. It is partially covered by a 'shed'. The rear a/c is working ok and [as Tm suggested] with a fan in the front blowing air to the back, the coach is very cold 😉 Will have to bite the bullet re new equip but in a month or few. Les
  25. OK THANK Tom. All around advice seems to be to get the caps checked first. Previous owner said it did work and I believe it did. I do not have a voicemail? Few tech round here want to 'work'....... buy a new one ;-)) This is a small % of what I did decades ago. http://musiciansolympus.blogspot.com/2009/12/leshurdle-bass.html Loads for Tom Jones, Humperdinck, etc etc These days I write underscore music for Film & TV/Jingles etc........... where is that money !!
